This unit has much to offer and many things still for me to learn. Performance is great so far.

I got this receiver in an open-box sale. I have had high-end Yamahas and Maratz before. This receiver can't compare to them, despite not being a basic model. Despite the fact we paid cheap for it, I'd still put a little more money and go for a Yamaha or MArants.

The sound quality of the receiver is average to me. There are tons of connections for many speakers and legacy devices. I tend to like the warmer sounds of Yamaha over this Onkyo. I'm also more worried about quality as Onkyo has a reputation for failed HDMI ports over the long run.

Very happy with my receiver. Good features and sound quality. I appreciate the tv sound setting in particular for tough tv audio.

So far, I can give an excellent review. I just purchased this product on 7-20-19 and today is 8-2-19.

Overall im somewhat satisfied with. It is, however a pain to get sound adjusted correctly without some idea of what you are doing. I'm a novice and you would think they could put a print instruction manual with it considering the outlay of money.

Be careful when it says Bluetooth enabled it just means it has a Bluetooth receiver not a transmitter. You CANNOT connect Bluetooth headphones to this unit with buying a separate transmitter. For a $700 receiver this is just unacceptable. The menu system is not intuitive and difficult to navigate. Also take note of the dimensions this receiver is 14 inches deep and won’t fit on many selves or entertainment stands. This is yet another modern device cursed by the "good enough" design philosophy. I guess you have to spend $1000 now to get a competently designed AV receiver.

I do not like how Onkyo sound. I don't like Pioneer, either, which uses some of the same components. I also feel like they are using a numbers game in trying to beat their opponents. On paper they have more, but sound-wise they have less. But this is all subjective so give it a listen before you buy.

Bought 4K Samsung TV and needed to upgrade. Very pleased Onkyo. Still learning to program.
