By the time I got my zone 2 speakers I found out almost nothing works in zone two. Chromecast doesn't work and not one single HDMI input works. What's the point? Now it's too late to return and I'm a more than a little mad.

Don’t buy returned items, I bought a open box. When I finally had the chance to hook it up it was defective and does not work. My Window to return it has expired and now I’m stuck with an item I payed over $300 for that does not even work.

Out of the box DOA .. No sounds from speakers, Kept shutting down during the audio setup . Displayed a NG error .. Ordered a Sony this time and hoping for the best .

I am a big fan of Onkyo recievers, but this one is grossly under powered. A yamaha would be a better choice.

The set up if this stereo is not good. Have to constantly switch over to different setting based on what I am watching

doesn't work with HDR+, if you're looking for 4K HDR+ you need to upgrade

Don’t waste your time or money, we have a 1990’s receiver that preforms better. After purchasing, we read all the issues, returning promptly.

Blue tooth on second one we bought went out after just a few uses at our pool.

So far so good... that good fit for me. I was on fence about this model and the 2021/22? model. The difference to me was 8k; but when I get 8k content or a tv is at least 5-10 years from now, just got 4k tv. I like being able to play a hdmi video source and audio from a 2ch source. I have been impressed with Onkyo's perceived quality, sound quality, and versatility.

Bought this to replace previous receiver that failed. Needed two HDMI output for a main, and secondary display. This receiver delivers with some good options for the second zone. I have it running my 5.1 for my theater and 2 other speakers for the additional room. Sound is great, with a noticeable improvement from the previous receiver. The only complaint would be some slight clunky interactions in the setup menus. Took a minute to make sure I understood how the settings were implemented.

Great receiver. Easy to program. Tutorial helps to modified speakers. Brings great sound to mt speakers.

Bought this after returning a similar sony product. Love the product. Great sound, easy setup. Easy contr over the sound fields. Easy to use on screen menus. My only wish is that it displayed the sound content type on the front for a few secs like Sony's do. You can hear the relays click as your content changes, like starting to play atmos content, but then you need to press the "I" (info) button the remote for the on screen display to see what the content is being played. Maybe I'm being picky but I like to know if I'm watching atmos content or not.

Very good reciever. Great sound and lots of power. Bluetooth, air play and pandora make this reciever a 10.

I purchased my Onkyo TX-NR696 on March 20 and received the unit shortly afterwards. The receiver is very nice, it has good controls to customize the sound and speakers. However, within the last few weeks I have noticed an issue with the output on the left rear surround channel. When the unit is turned on there is a crackling sound for around 10-15 seconds before the true sound starts. This doesn't happen every time but often. I contacted customer service and was told that if the receiver requires service it is my responsibility to pay for shipping the receiver across the country but the service would be covered under the warranty. I consider this to be a very poor service response on a brand new receiver. I will be without a receiver while they try to repair my brand new receiver. My opinion would be that Onkyo should send me a brand new receiver to replace my defective unit.

Been using this receiver for the last 3 years with our klipsch reference speakers. Absolutely bangers. No complaints

The sound that it's giving it's amazing glad I didn't give up on it after the first contact with the component recommend buy this unit and you won't be disappointed

Great sound. Have it paired up with /Sony A8g/Panasonic 820 blu ray/Martin Logan surround/. No issues, for you guys disappointed about it’s output, that’s nuts. Never have it past half volume before someone in the house starts complaining. And we don’t have necessarily a small house.

It was a great product to buy and I'm happy that I did. My surround sound is unbelievable
