Replace a Yamaha A4A with this as I need the extra channels. I've found the Onkyo to have a warmer sound and more lower end than the A4A. The A4A sound clearer at lower volumes, but this one song his too For the price I would recommend this

I loved this receiver. The only problem was the fact that Bluetooth would not stay connected. I bought one had that problem so I returned it and got another one and had the same problem.

Beware of $70 shipping to authorized repair center

This should be a 5 star review, unfortunately for the past 4 months I've had progressively more HDMI dropouts. This is aggravating when playing FPS games on the PS5. After testing with an OnkyoTX-NR6050 I know that 4K/120 does work just not on my unit. A 3 year warranty is great but, having to pay $70 to ship it to the authorized repair center and be without it for an unknown amount of time is not. It's incredible when it works but I worry about longevity, something I shouldn't have to do at this price point. I've owned Onkyo high end gear for the last 25 years and most were fine, a few had to go in for repairs.

I haven't had an Onkyo product in years. I thought I would try this model. It works great! Included is Dirac calibration software, which really brings all your speakers to life!

Generally, I’d say this is a good AVR. But it has some serious flaws when it comes to the Dirac software. If you change just about any setting, including your listening mode, such as multi-channel stereo, etc., poof, Dirac disappears. This goes for many other settings as well. That is made even worse because you can’t just reapply it. You have do your measurements all over again. Plus, you’re required to use an app to use Dirac. Why isn’t it built into the AVR? Also, the build quality on this particular unit was lacking. The front tray that folds down didn’t fold back up to a flush position. It just hung open. And the two selection knobs on the left were pretty cheap plastic. The remote was a little cramped, but acceptable. It got the job done. The sound quality and power was quite good, as well as having a good front panel display and OSD. But when you’re paying a premium on the unit to use Dirac, it had better be worth it, and it certainly was not. TL;DR If you’re buying this unit without intending to use Dirac, great, it could work for you. If you want to use Dirac, look somewhere else.
