    lacking support

    This product is garbage and there is minimal support. The directions out of the box didnt work so i had to make 3 calls to get someone to pickup the phone to help me activate it. They now have an app for activation but no were in the directions or support is aware of the new process. The LTE netstick is this clunky lego puzzle that doesnt connect to anything. Again support will not help with it.

    Not good if you don't control the WiFI router

    We bought it for my elderly mother who was moving into an assisted-living home. There were many reliability problems that caused it to go offline all the time. Ooma tech support might have been able to talk me through a fix if I controlled the WiFi router and network -- changing settings on the router -- but not with a "public" router that I don't control.

    Impossible to cancel service

    Be prepared to have to call and go through 10 prompts to find a customer service rep to cancel your service. I can't wait for the government to regulate these slimy companies from making us waste time and energy canceling a service that takes 5 seconds to subscribe to online. Never subscribe to a service online that requires you to cancel by phone. Complete scam.

    Very, very difficult to cancel service

    The service is decent, but if you ever want to downgrade your account you have to chat or call. Chat was much faster for me. However, if you want to cancel your service, you have to call in and they will keep you on eternal hold and once you get through you have to go through the hard sell. They will do everything they can to retain your account. If you ever tried to cancel AOL back in the day you know what I am talking about. You have been warned.

    Didn't work well

    I got an Ooma and tried to get it to work over 30 days. I experienced dropped calls, voice delays, calls that just kept on ringing, calls that never rang, and calls that got "ported" into someone else's call. Overall I had approx. 50% success rate with making a call. Ooma Cust. service was good but I couldn't work out the problems. Decided to return it.

    OOMA is horrible do not buy it. When you try to quit they will not allow you. OOMA keeps your credit card number and sells the information. We had a couple sales calls and they all said they got our number from. OOMA. I do not like their machine because it is constantly dropping calls and made of cheap material parts of the OOMA unit burnt out and we had to constantly buy a new one with service fee. OOMA is a scam and they make their money tricking customers. do not buy from them. Once you are hooked you can not get out they keep sending you bills relentlessly.

    Do not trust them, worse than AOL

    Don't trust this company, if you cancel their service, they will say it was canceled and still keep charging you. In our case, we had two accounts, they did cancel one, but not the other, despite us specifically requesting that both get canceled and having verbal confirmation that both were canceled. Their written confirmation did not indicate which of the accounts were indeed canceled, so we foolishly believed the verbal confirmation.

    A power outage will render the modem inoperable.

    Horrible auto-recovery. If you have a power outage, the device will not auto-recover. No amount of rebooting will fix the modem. Chat support is not the support you want, it will take you 20 minutes until they tell you taht you need to call for support. Just use the call in support number. This will take you to a person who will write down you information to have someone else call you back at their convenience to assist you in bringing up their device.

    I bought this ooma device 2 days ago. when i tried to activate it using activation code i got message that i need to call customer care. i called customer care and gave them information they needed. they told me i will get email in 24 hours and device will be activated. but its not done yet. in last 2 days i contacted customer care for few times. everytime they react like they do not have this activation code. i do not think its going to start working at all.

    Nothing but issues. Lost business calls in the middle of a conversation with customers, Fax failures OFTEN. NO Resolution. Not worth the savings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Shady business practices. They won't let you cancel online, you have to call, then you get transferred 3 times before your put on hold for a long time. They obviously have practices in place that make it impossible to cancel the service.

    AC Adapter Plug doesn’t fit

    I have had several Magick Jack products over the years and quite honestly, they are better than this. The ooma is bulkier and takes up too much space. The sound quality was bad and was popping and cracking the whole time I tried to use it.

    DOA Box didn't work

    Bought the box, tried for hours to make it work, after 3 technicians they couldn't figured out what was wrong. I had to return it. Not a good experience with Ooma. I might try Vonage next.

    The product sounds good on paper, but in use the call quality was rather thin and the setup complicated. When I tried to cancel you would have thought I was trying to leave their religion.

    Horrible customer service which does not care to resolve the issue and themselves causing more problem. Use Google Voice instead and don't pay monthly charges and avoid horrible customer service which is a waste of time.
