This toothbrush is perfect if you have a limited budget. Great features for the price.

I really like this toothbrush. It cleans teeth very well and has different modes depending on the type of cleaning experience you want. If you connect it to the free app on your phone, the experience is even better because the app gives you feedback on how you're brushing. It even tells you if you're brushing too hard. You can also buy different brush heads for different kinds of cleaning. The only drawbacks I've found are that you have to have your phone with the unit in order for it to sync over Bluetooth. That can be a little dangerous due to the water factor involved but if you have a dry place to put it like on a shelf, you should be fine. Also, I wish the quality of the travel case were a little better. Overall this is a great product that I'll continue to use every day.

So, I was quite skeptical that there was a point to a Bluetooth-connected toothbrush. Was I going to track my tooth-brushing habits, on top of my calories, steps, weight, blood pressure, etc.? I'll come back to that question in a moment. But first, how does it work as a toothbrush? In a word, great. I've been using a different Oral-B electric toothbrush for ten+ years (the Oral-B "Pro Health" version, powered by a single AA battery). It's worked well for me, and it's easy to use and maintain. What does the Pro 6000 do that the older one doesn't? First of all, it has a built-in rechargeable battery, which conveniently charges on an included stand, and provides a battery level indication. The older brush would often die in the middle of a brushing session, which is irritating; the Pro 6000 lets you know when to put it on the charger. Second, the smaller head design on the Pro 6000 is easier to get to my back teeth and maneuver around my mouth. Third, the Pro 6000 has an indicator that tells you when you're applying too much pressure. My dentist has commented a few times that I press too hard when I brush, which damages the enamel on my teeth; this indicator helps me dial the pressure back. Fourth, the Pro 6000 appears to have more torque and brushes more vigorously than other electric toothbrushes I've used, likely due to its heavier-duty battery. Fifth, this brush has a built-in timer, that provides a haptic notification every 30 seconds while brushing that you can use to keep track of how long you've been working on a particular area of your mouth. At the end of the two minutes standard brushing cycle, it gives a different haptic notification to let you know you're done. So what about the Bluetooth feature? While you can use the iPhone app in tandem while you brush, I look at the app as a way to "keep myself honest." The app tracks brushing time and "pressing too hard" time, which helps me make sure that I'm not abusing my teeth too badly. It's useful, but it's up to you to decide if it's useful enough to justify the extra money for this model - if it's not, Oral-B/Braun offer most of the functionality in lower-priced brushes.

Brushing your teeth daily is one of the simplest of life's hygiene tasks, yet Oral B has made a strong attempt at not only perfecting our results, but increasing the probability of consistency when you brush. The first thing that jumps out at you when you open the box is the clean look and feel of the device. It is very well built, and has a very comfortable feel in hand. It has a multi-colored led ring at the base of the brush head, which is used to communicate with the user and just be cool. The charging station has the option of attaching a storage for additional brush heads, but I like the minimalist look of just the base. This allows you to use minimal space on your bathroom vanity. There is also a travel case included. It holds the toothbrush and 2 additional brush heads. Well, how well does it perform? I would say this is the best toothbrush on the market. I like the circular, rotary head on the Oral B brushes because they have more of a single tooth feel when cleaning. This thing really does an excellent job cleaning your teeth. It has several cleaning modes, which include: normal, professional, whitening, feather, etc. It will treat your teeth like you want them to be treated. While brushing, if you apply too much pressure, the 6000 informs you (ring turns red) and slows the rotary head until you relieve that pressure. This toothbrush also has Bluetooth connectivity allowing you to connect your phone using an app. Of course, you must have an iPhone or Android to take advantage if this feature - I am a Windows Phone user that has an Android from work. While I initially felt the app was overkill, I like the potential that's there. The Oral B powered toothbrushes already have built in indicators to prompt you to move to another section of your mouth, so the app doesn't seem useful in this case. After using the app, the ability to look at the time spent in each zone of my mouth, real-time at that, allows you to consistently brush each zone effectively. With 30 seconds for each zone, when you are able to watch the timer, it allows you to spend brush time for each zone wisely. With out the phone, you just guess if you're on time, and when the toothbrush indicates you need to change, you are more than likely surprised. Another cool feature about the app is that you can review your brushing statistics to see what kind of care you are really giving your teeth. Not necessary, but cool. All in all, this is without a doubt the best when it comes to brushing your teeth. Cleans teeth phenomenally and all but ensures consistent behavior when brushing. Just by following the program the toothbrush provides, you will ensure at least 2 minutes brushing your teeth. There are people that brush their teeth only for a minute or less. Just following this zone program solves that issue. If you don't have one of these, you should.

The first time I bought an electric toothbrush, it was at my dentist’s suggestion. That was back when the first Oral-B electric toothbrush came on the market. It had a 2-minute timer, which I really liked (2 minutes is a lot longer than you think it is, and my dentist really did say that was the recommended brushing time), but no other “bells and whistles.” I — and my dentist — liked the fairly small, round brush head, which let me clean all around my remote back molars. My hygienist appointments started taking less and less time. The only reason I replaced that wonderful device was because it had a cord, and the cordless version came out, although I was disappointed that it didn’t have the 2-minute timer. Well, the timer is back. I just replaced that 2nd toothbrush with the Oral-B - Pro 6000 Connected Toothbrush, and it is definitely a worthy successor, with all the bells and whistles anyone could want. It has a 2-minute timer, but also a Professional setting, which alerts you at 30-second intervals. The alert was a surprise the first time — it makes a sort of stop-start stutter — but I have come to appreciate its fairly subtle yet definite signal. The “you’re brushing too hard” alert is very welcome at our house, because my husband has a bad habit of bearing down really hard on a toothbrush, not only going through brush heads at a rapid rate, but harming his teeth and gums in the process. Problem solved! I also like the action of this toothbrush. In addition to rotating, it also oscillates and pulsates, and the different settings, such as Daily, Sensitive, and Whitening, let you adjust the action to your needs. I can tell that the Oral-B Pro 6000 is getting my teeth even cleaner than the already good older version. The Bluetooth connection is dead simple to use, both for while you are brushing and to check on yourself later. Also, I am guessing that a kid would much rather be coached by an electronic device than nagged at by a parent. I haven’t found any negatives with the Oral-B Pro 6000 Connected Toothbrush and lots and lots of positives. Well done, Oral-B!

The toothbrush works very good and it looks like you will get several days out of a charge. The bluetooth app works well and I like the timer and brushing history tracking. You can get updates, such as weather and news, on the app while you brush. It is helpful you can setup brush head reminders and order replacements from the app. This brush gives you all the tools needed to get a professional dental experience at home, and guidance to keep you on track.

I prefer my old electric toothbrush with an oscillating motion to the rotary motion of this toothbrush. Also too many setting options - confusing.

At first I thought the bluetooth connectivity and activity tracker was ridiculous. And it still is, to an extent. If you do it properly and timely, brushing your teeth should be as routine as eating and sleeping. However, for many people who occasionally skip the routine, the Oral B Pro 6000 becomes that much more useful. The package comes with one brush head, a travel case, a power cord, and a stand/case for home. Getting connected is very simple: download and open the app, turn on bluetooth on your phone or tablet, pair, and you're done. The app gives you a recommended allotment of time for each "mouth zone" and goes through a checklist for your other mouthcare needs like flossing and mouthwash. It saves your activity so you can track your progress or you can delete and start fresh. The brush itself is very powerful with a fast rotation and long battery life, considering it is using power to keep bluetooth connectivity. I would have liked to see an extra brush head packaged, but you should be able to get good use out of the one for a long time. Overall, this is a must for people who need "smart" things to keep them on track. For those already on routine, the quality and build is good enough and will give your mouth that after-dentist feeling every day. A great product.
