    Remote computer assistance

    I was very disappointed with the remote service I had done to my computer. The guy was supposed to call me but he didn’t. He just disengaged from the remote and sent me a partial report which I called back twice to request the full report and the 1st guy hung up on me and I called back and the next guy told me I would automatically recieve the full report the next day bc they are computer generated-- next day--I rec'd NOTHING. I askedfor a refund--was granted. But I never rec'd the full report. So I still don't know what is going on with my computer to this day!

    In addition to my other issues, I had a bitlocker issue with one drive. He didn't fix it, and when I mentioned it to him, he couldn't get away fast enough. And his accent was so thick I could barely understand him.

    Geek Squad failed to upgrade my laptop.

    I was trying to upgrade from Win 10 to Win11. I told the Geek Squad that I was informed by the upgrade app that my laptop was not covered by Win 11 requirements. The squad told me that they could make it work. When they remotely took over my laptop the lady said that my laptop would not upgrade, but that she could do a tune up since we were already hooked up. I noticed no improvement of benefit from the tune up. So basically I feel that I've been taken for a ride and received nothing for my time and money.

    "30-day money-back guarantee" Misleading

    I am a long-time customer of Best Buy who spends thousands of dollars a year there, so unfortunately, I trusted the guarantee. Nothing is guaranteed. My computer is worse than before and don't believe they performed all tasks on the list. They certainly couldn't support that the tasks were performed in my phone conversations. I was disappointed, bought a new computer and attempted to get a refund. I was told the guarantee means they "stand by the work that they did" so there would be no refund regardless of the benign or negative impact of their work. Not sure the value of that if my computer is worse than before. I asked what the "money-back guarantee" means and they offered to work on my computer again. I asked several times what the money-back guarantee meant and they said they would look into it/investigate this case and email me with 48 hours. If they aren't sure what "money-back" means, you shouldn't be either. At best it seems misleading, at worst dishonest.

    Two attempts at online remote service both end with frustration and failure at fixing the problems I ask help with. I pay good money for this service and I don't feel that I should have to wait while my agent is helping others or just not paying attention to my comments. I will look into alternate service that treats its customers with more attention.

    Asked for help and was robbed

    Called for help with Ethernet cap on computer, they suggested a tune up will fix the issue. After hours of them trying nothing was fixed called for a refund and no refund was issued after being transferred multiple times. Will not use this service again

    Double charged for not-the-best service

    My computer is working mildly faster than it was, but still not like new. I was unfortunately double billed for the service (charged twice!) and have been working with their customer service to get the second charge refunded. I was transferred 5-6 times only for them to claim that they only billed me once. I have a credit card statement that shows otherwise. Be prepared to dispute charges with your credit card carrier.
