Very pleased with its performance and even browning on both sides of the toast. Did not realize how bad our old toaster was until trying this one. You would think all toasters would toasty evenly, it seems like a simple design application, but you'd be wrong.

The digital readout is a bit enigmatic, and the toastiness knob doesn't seem to be consistent, leading to easy burning. Most importantly, the toasting of the bread is uneven, spotty in parts. Ultimately it's a decent toaster, but it looks better than it cooks.

THAT was the sole reason we bought this one, to not have to deal with a cord on counter. The model you take home? YOU have to dick around with the cord for 20 mins trying to get it to rewind, NO button for you little man.

I am happy so far. I have only had it for a month so I will follow up at a later date. So far, so good.

The replacement was the same, and the cord would not retract. Bad design. The digital count down is great, too bad toasting is not. Oster is fantastic. They are sending a replacement, only a different model. Even though it is less expansive, the reviews are very positive. This is a company that stands behind their product.

Don't get me wrong i am not a toast fanatic or anything but It does not toast my toast even on the highest setting I have to constantly keep pushing down the trigger to even get it close to what I want which lightly toasted. Maybe I got the bad apple out of the bunch ? But I wouldn't recommend this to anyone ever
