This Oster blender was a disappointment in that it only worked for a few seconds! The motor ran, but the blades didn’t spin, so I returned it. The first and last Oster I owned was from the 70’s. It was a work horse, but sadly, it was damaged in a flood. I purchased the Oster because it featured a glass container and metal motor parts, so it blends both hot and cold food, just like the original.

Seemed great until the third smoothie I was making. The motor was really struggling. Took the cup off the blender and put it back on to make sure it was on correctly. Restarted it and it was still struggling and then it started smelling like something burning. I unplugged the blender and lifted it up and smoke was pouring out of it. Put everything back in the box and returned it to the store.

Half the time I blend , the container does not fit well with the rotary. Very noisy and does not even mix the smoothie. Stop it , re - place glass container , sometimes I have to do that many times before it sits well. Every time , it seems to fit well , but. ??? , does not mix food Frustrating

So now a days, blenders are used for all sorts of things. Sauces, smoothies, mixed drinks, chopping, and so on. This blender is smaller then most, which may work perfect for your works space. The larger pitcher, is made of very solid/thick glass. It is a little heavier then most blender pitchers because of that. The top allows steam and heat to be released while blending, while keeping all the contents in... that is good when you are working with some warm/hot foods. The base is a very bright brushed finish, looks really stylish on your counter. Very few buttons to figure out, makes it a piece of cake to work. The BIG bonus is the very large smoothie cup. The same base fits in it, and gives a. BIG mixing surface to work with. Smoothies from fresh fruits, to power mixes... will work perfectly... and it is much larger then one of the other leading bands... So for that power work out, or the replacement lunch... this will work perfect. I would have liked it to come with two, but hopefully that will be an option to buy an extra. So Pros: Blade is interchange able, relatively quiet to use, and easy to use. Big Smoothie Cup, steam vent Con: The thick heavy glass, may pose a challenge for some.

This is a typical blender. Nothing high tech or fancy. But does what you would want it to do. PROS: 800 Watt motor Glass pitcher container 6 blades pitcher fits in the fridge ice dispenser Dishwasher safe Smoothie cup(plastic) included - fits onto the base to use as a mixer as well!! Smart mixing!! - the motor spins in intervals to allow settling and then adjusts speeds depending on your thickness settings - set and walk away while it blends!!!!! Cons: not many here off initial review - its what you would expect with a few perk features! Used this to make my morning smoothies - worked well and got a consistent blend down to puree smooth. The blade mixer works well with ice cubes. The base was stable during ice crush and didn't dance across the counter. Knocked down 1 star because of The top is plastic - not a big deal, it does fit snug container base is plastic - could be a long term issue if you are constantly swapping from glass pitcher to smoothie cup.

I loved my Oster blender, but when I was making a batch of pesto with the basil from my garden, the engine started smoking! I turned it off of course. I would have brought it right back to you, but it was after the 15 day warranty ended. I tried using it again the next day, and it was fine at first, but then smoked some more and stopped running altogether. I had already used it to make three batches of pesto with the same recipe, with no problem. I used the same pesto recipe in my previous blender for about 20 years, so I am totally frustrated that this blender died already. Sorry to bear bad news.

I like this blender, easy to use storable, easy clean up. I like using it for a quick protein shake, making milkshakes for my kids and chopping small veggies. Has a sleek style, nice to keep on the counter. Blends really good. I don’t like when I can taste bits of fruits in my smoothies. Does a good job of making it smooth. I have also tried it to make bean sauce which comes straight from the stove. It doesn’t lose its power with hot stuff. And it’s dishwasher safe.

CON: leaks at base, leaves rusty footprint, hot fluids escape through lid, difficult and complex button choices and operation. PRO: has not caught fire yet.

My kitchen space comes at a premium these days. I have a lot of gadgets, and generally speaking if an appliance can't serve more than one function than I just don't have room for it. Does this Oster Master Series Texture Select blender make the cut? To my surprise yes. In an attempt to eat healthier I wanted a blender primarily to make smoothies while I try to introduce more fruits, and vegetables into my diet. I also wanted something that would serve more than one function in my kitchen. This Oster blender makes smoothies and more rather admirably. First off it has a nice build quality. The brushed nickel finish fits in well with my other stainless products. The controls are simple, and intuitive. The motor is powerful. The glass jar is big (6 cups). The "blend-n-go" cup is super convenient, and makes for less cleaning. It is everything I would like to see out of a blender. But can it multitask? In the right hands yes. The texture select programs will allow for some light food processing. I plan on experimenting to see just what it can do, and what it is best suited for. Overall I am impressed with the Oster Master Series Blender. It is a great compromise between price, quality, and functionality. Overall I look forward to having it in my kitchen for years to come.

As a blending connoisseur - a person who uses a blender at least 5 times a week, this is the perfect accessory to our basement bar to whip up fast margaritas, daiquiris, and smoothies for poolside enjoyment. I think we have tried almost every high end consumer, and commercial blender on the market - and this new Oster Master Series (its an entirely new model) is VERY close to our $600 blender in terms of performance, reliability, and design. A sharp and efficient stainless steel blade cuts through ice like butter, but is not too loud! I've tested it to powder granulated sugar, make onion powder from dried onion flakes, on top of the more routine smoothie, beverage making functions. It makes a banging salsa too. It does not disappoint and handled each task with ease. I love the solid glass jar as much as the plastic smoothie to go container - both are very functional and have distinct uses, but both are VERY easy to clean.
