There are other options available out there at a very competitive price. In the long run the rubber wears out and got loose. I still can’t understand why OtterBox has not still changed their designed on the Defender series.

Disappointed. I could not get the case to install without it constantly pushing the volume down button. I tried putting it on left side first, right side first, and top first, and could not get it to work. I contacted OtterBox, and they sent me another to try, and it still wouldn't work right. Weird. I've never had a problem like this with one of their cases ever, but the good thing is they are standing behind the case. Hopefully we can get it solved. One thing, I wish the Pencil flap was an actual Pencil holder. It basically just holds the Pencil while charging, and is not meant to hole the Pencil when not in use, or traveling. Now I'm looking for some way to carry the Pencil in those situations. (I reviewed this earlier, this is an update)

Decent kinda wish it was a bit less bulk but love it

I had real high hopes for this with my new iPad Pro 12.9. I've bee an OtterBox fan for years. Unfortunately, I had a few issues. First, the volume-down button stuck. I tried rearranging the rubber sleeve a few times to see if it was binding and even messed with the plastic frame. The button would work once or twice and then get stuck pressing the iPad button, which made adjusting the volume almost impossible. As noted in some other reviews I read, the USB-C cover is very hard to open and it really does push hard on the cord connector when inserted. Also, the pencil charging cover really does feel like an afterthought. I think OtterBox has slacked off on their innovation. I returned this case.

I have had many defender cases. I am bummed this one doesn’t protect the screen at all from scratches like the older ones did. Also, the camera seems unprotected as well in this case. I don’t think it was an accident to remove the screen protector. They say it’s due to the curved screen but I think they just wanted to make more money selling us screen protection separately. Also, this case’s outer layer isn’t the same rubbery shock resistant material as all previous defender pros; its a thinner application of a more rigid material that doesn’t seem comparable to the old case that I am holding side by side! A bummer for sure and I definitely will be looking into a LifeProof case next time around.

OtterBox obviously makes a good product. For my purposes in the field, I would have sacrificed some ruggedness for a lighter-weight product. But I couldn't find one. I needed it quick so didn't look too hard.

I will always be buying the otter box defender series cases for any phone, iPad, or iPod, as I have had nice stuff not break since using the otter box. If you want a quality item, buy an otter box.

This is the perfect place to have her just holding in your hand on the go or using your pencil if you plan on setting up a keyboard and all that may not be the right choice but for on the go and at home only love it

love ipads - bought this for the son-in-law - he uses to take photos at his work sites, watches movies and utube clips and does his work email etc. It is a nice size and easy to carry around

Great case as far as protection but the case pushes on the volume down button constantly so I can’t turn the volume up. It also is difficult to press the power button. Will be returning.

If you get the 12.9 inch, don’t leave the store without protection. Because of the size, it’s easy to bend the iPad. This case gives the iPad extra stability against bending.

This protective case had good protection. Downfall is that it does not store you ipencil & for that reason I ended up returning the item. If I had not had an ipencil I may have kept the case.
