As long as you have the Galaxy Note 8, this Defender series should fit seamlessly and allow for full functionality of the device. We intentionally decided to forego any integrated screen protection on this version to offer direct access to the curved infinity display. I had one for my Note 3, and I made sure to get one as soon as I bought the Note 8. I dropped the Note 3 numerous times with zero scratches on the phone itself. I haven't dropped the Note 8 yet since I bought it, but the case is definitely as sturdy as previous versions. The only reason I have the product four stars instead of five has to do with the stiffness of the coverings over the charge port and the earphone port. I get why they are there, but they can be a bit difficult to open to get earphones or the charger in. The Note 3 case had one too, and I ended up tearing it off in time. Other than that, this product is darn near perfect!
