Those rubber doors are intentionally designed to keep dust and debris out of the ports, and should open up when you need access to those device functions. Took it in the water and noticed later after taking the case off, that the foam in the back of the case holds water and will continue until it dries. Don't know how long that takes but if long enough, it could grow mold and all sorts of other nasty stuff.

The belt clip needs to be redesigned.

I ended up buying a 2nd one because I thought okay maybe it was my fault. So once I had the 2nd one I made sure to be cautious when I was clipping my phone on and off my belt. That didn't even help because the 2nd one broke as well in the same location as the 1st. BUYER BEWARE

Did not Fit

Even though it said it was for the Samsung galaxy Note 8. I took it apart and the phone fit perfectly in the rubberized part but it wasn't a snug fit. Once I put the middle piece back in the phone it would not fit in. I returned the phone and wrote a review on otterbox. Currently waiting on a response from them.

Terrible new ones made very cheap

Not as good as my otterbox for my Note 3

Proof is my Note 3 is in excellent shape after 3 1/2 years.No built in shield comes with the Note 8 and the snap is not very strong.

Diferent from original versions

The Defender for the Note 8 is a good case, but two things keep if from being a 5 star product in my book. The deletion of the screen protector is a big ommision and the belt clip has been down graded from previous versions. The older clips felt 100% secure and I never worried about my phone accidently coming out. This belt clip has me worried somewhat.... Fixing these two issues can return the Defender back to it's top spot amongst phone cases.
