I’ve owned Otterbox Defenders for every phone I’ve ever owned, why should I change? I want the best protection and they are hands down superior to other cases. If you do not like bulky, this case isn’t for you, but I’m purchasing strictly to keep my phone safe. This case hasn’t changed much in looks, but from what I can tell, it’s made better than the older Defenders. Time will tell on how it lasts and wears. This is the first “Pro” I’ve owned, and it has more texture to the case than a regular Defender. I rather the Pro’s grip and feel, so for me, this one gets 5 stars.

I've been using Otterbox cases since my iPhone 4S, and I absolutely ADORE them! They always keep my phones looking as if I had just bought them from the store years later. This case is no exception. Fits my iPhone XR like a glove, feels very sturdy and makes for a very comfortable and secure grip in my hands. I've never-and WILL never-complain about the extra added bulk the case does bring because that's what enables the case to protect your phone so competently even with multiple hard drops onto concrete (I've NEVER had a cracked screen thanks to Otterbox!). My ONE qualm, and the reason why I didn't give the item 5 stars, is that I am thoroughly perplexed as to why there is no built in screen protector on this model. That's one of the benefits of Otterbox Defender series cases-all in one protection including a screen protector. I read another review prior to purchase where Otterbox responded to the no screen protector feature by saying that they didn't feel that the phone would have been able to be properly protected by this case, due to the curved screen, if they added the usual built in screen protector. However, how were they able to add a built in screen protector for the Galaxy S7 Edge, which has a MUCH more curvier screen and body than the iPhone XR? That doesn't make any sense to me. Other than that, I love the case and the protection that it offers.

This case offers great protection for my iPhone. It is non-slip and completely encases my phone with the exception of the glass front; although the case surrounds the phone and creates a bumper around the face of the phone. The case fits my iPhone XR perfectly. It is a little bulky and makes the phone a bit heavy, but it's a trade off for the protection.

Any new phone I get NEVER leaves the store without an Otterbox on it. They are pricey, yes, but with other phones, mine paid for itself more than a couple of times. I’m not pleased about there no longer being a built in screen protector, but it is what it is. I had to purchase a glass one. This case is great protection, and has the lip on the outer edge so that if you do drop it flat, it will presumably fall on the bumper instead of the face. Yes, these can be a bit bulky for the pocket, but it’s worth it to me. I don’t care much for the snap on case/clip that comes with it, they always get caught on something. I notice a lot of men and contractors use them, so they must be great to have - just not for me. I always recommend the Otterbox Defender series for your new phones. This one is no different!

Very good protection. Reliable. Especially for kids. Obviates the need for insurance. Highly recommend for out doors. It may seem bulky initially but one gets used to it rather quickly. It is reasonably easy to put it on. I would strongly recommend it for the more expensive devices.

I bought this case for my new iPhone XR and it is an excellent case for protection and comfortable grip of iphone. Only negative, cut the rubber piece off charger and silent button for easy access. Its bulky but its the best case I ever had for protection.

It is bulky- but it protects my new iPhone while it’s in my bag and I don’t have to stress what will happen to my phone. The extra belt clip piece is great for keeping the phone secured in my jacket pocket.

I had an Otter Box Defender on my old iPhone, and it protected it well. I wanted the same thing for my new phone. Although it is a little big making my phone bulky, I think it is worth the protection it offers. Also, it does not come with a screen protector the way the old ones do, so I had to purchase a screen protector separately.

First we have owned many otter boxes over the years and they work, My daughter is constantly dropping her phone! The Defenders may be a little bulky but they definitely work. My only concern with the new ones is the lack of a screen protector.

I only trust the Otter line of phone covers. Yes they’re somewhat bulky and cumbersome, but with that in mind, think of how many times your phone would’ve been destroyed if you didn’t have one of these rugged covers on them. The only drawback to this specific one is that there wasn’t any covering for the face of the phone. I merely purchased one separately. Remember, your not only holding a smartphone in your hand - its a portable PC ! So protect your investment!

Product is dependable and affordable. Not to bulky like the others with a screen that ends up strong defictive.

I havent dropped it yet as it is so easy to hold onto. Bulky yes, but necessary so screen doesnt crack.

This is my 2nd OtterBox Defender case (got a bigger phone). It's a little expensive and bulky buy my previous phone had dropped several time 4ft onto concrete without any damage! With the defender case you get holster which works out get for me, I don't like carrying my phone in my pocket.

I’ve always kept my iPhones in Otter Box cases and I’ve never had any problems. I tried the Commuter case first, which was a little less bulky, but the back of the case felt slick. It was difficult to use the phone with one hand without it feeling like it would slip and fall. The Defender case has more grip in the back and I’ve had no issues with it.

A little bulk, but great protection. Comes with belt clip.

I still have a little love for an old school otter box defender.. massive sturdy protection for your iPhone. I dropped that sucker 10 feet down a ladder and NO issues!!! Love it! Yes it’s bulky, no not the most stylish but when you work at construction sites or need function to protect your style... this is for you

This case has been ran over by a military truck. phone did bend slightly , dropped from first floor and phone still works. only neg , cut the rubber peice off charger and silent button for easy access. Its bulky but its the best case i ever had for protection. My 3rd one now. Not pretty but best out there for safety.

Like all of the other Otter cases we have bought for our iPhones, this one for the iPhone Xr is great and provides confidence that the phone will not be damaged if it is dropped. We continue to be pleased with these products. It might add a little bulk, but the assurance of protection is a good trade-off.

Bought this to protect my new Xr iPhone.It is a little bit bulky and adds some weight to the phone but I have every confidence that it will provide the protection you’ll need if you drop your phone. It comes with a clip to attach to your belt if you want to wear your phone there,
