I ordered this case and received one labeled as a screenless version? There is no built in screen protector like the description said, leaving my 14yo in danger of breaking his new birthday gift. Now I have to research what is compatible with this case to protect his phone screen.

I've been using Otterbox cases since my iPhone 4S, and I absolutely ADORE them! They always keep my phones looking as if I had just bought them from the store years later. This case is no exception. Fits my iPhone XR like a glove, feels very sturdy and makes for a very comfortable and secure grip in my hands. I've never-and WILL never-complain about the extra added bulk the case does bring because that's what enables the case to protect your phone so competently even with multiple hard drops onto concrete (I've NEVER had a cracked screen thanks to Otterbox!). My ONE qualm, and the reason why I didn't give the item 5 stars, is that I am thoroughly perplexed as to why there is no built in screen protector on this model. That's one of the benefits of Otterbox Defender series cases-all in one protection including a screen protector. I read another review prior to purchase where Otterbox responded to the no screen protector feature by saying that they didn't feel that the phone would have been able to be properly protected by this case, due to the curved screen, if they added the usual built in screen protector. However, how were they able to add a built in screen protector for the Galaxy S7 Edge, which has a MUCH more curvier screen and body than the iPhone XR? That doesn't make any sense to me. Other than that, I love the case and the protection that it offers.

Any new phone I get NEVER leaves the store without an Otterbox on it. They are pricey, yes, but with other phones, mine paid for itself more than a couple of times. I’m not pleased about there no longer being a built in screen protector, but it is what it is. I had to purchase a glass one. This case is great protection, and has the lip on the outer edge so that if you do drop it flat, it will presumably fall on the bumper instead of the face. Yes, these can be a bit bulky for the pocket, but it’s worth it to me. I don’t care much for the snap on case/clip that comes with it, they always get caught on something. I notice a lot of men and contractors use them, so they must be great to have - just not for me. I always recommend the Otterbox Defender series for your new phones. This one is no different!

I bought this for my new iPHONE Xr and it fits like a glove. The device seems very well protected. It does not have the screen protector found on previous Otter Box Defenders but I was put at ease after reading other customer reviews and the Otter Box web site. The design of this Otter Box should protect your iPHONE screen from drops. The interesting reason why I bought the blue case is because Best Buy’s had it on sale at 29.99 and the other colors for the same case were $30.00 more! Go figure that one out.

I love this case. My 2 year old loves to take my phone and run with it. I was a little skeptical about not having a screen protector with the case, but it doesn’t bother me at all. I bought one to go with it and my husband put it on for me. I drop my phone a lot and so far it’s been great at protecting it! Love the color!

This is my third phone to be protected by Otterbox. I expect that it will be as effective as the other two cases I’ve had. It is just like the others were. Well made and Weil padded. It is not as pretty as some others but to me protection is what I buy a case for. The description is not accurate as it says it has a screen protector. It does not have one. That was not an issue because I would have removed it as the old cases had a plastic screen cover that I removed so I could use a glass cover instead. This is a great case and if you want it for protection you can not go wrong.

I have always protected my phone with OtterBox and was not happy with the new version. I was skeptical because the front plastic protection I was used to wasn’t on this model but I got it anyway. I will be the first to admit I was wrong! I love this case much more than my old cases. No hairs or spots getting stuck under the plastic protector anymore. You have complete access to your screen which makes it easy to keep clean. The case will last longer because I’m not taking it apart every week to clean it. The edges are raised just enough that if the phone drops, it shouldn’t land on the screen. Of course there are those weird circumstances I’m sure. This is the best OtterBox Defender Case I have owned. I would buy again and recommend to everyone.

I’ve gotten otterbox cases for my last several phones and they have never let me down. I wish there were more color options though. They don’t come with screen protectors anymore, which I prefer. Love how this one has a whole back instead of a cut out of the apple logo. Might be expensive for some but is well worth the price.

I had an Otter Box Defender on my old iPhone, and it protected it well. I wanted the same thing for my new phone. Although it is a little big making my phone bulky, I think it is worth the protection it offers. Also, it does not come with a screen protector the way the old ones do, so I had to purchase a screen protector separately.

Great case like every other otter box I’ve had. It fits the iPhone XR prefectly and provides great protection. Only thing missing a a screen protection which could be added if you need it.

First we have owned many otter boxes over the years and they work, My daughter is constantly dropping her phone! The Defenders may be a little bulky but they definitely work. My only concern with the new ones is the lack of a screen protector.

Otterbox has never failed me. Although this makes the XR much bulkier And heavier than I would like and has no screen cover, it’s still a fav for protection.

It is a good price for this case. It protects your phone good. However, it is now a screenless case so you need an extra screen protector.

Easy to install. Offers protection at a reasonable price. Doesn’t come with a screen protector so have to buy that separately.

Overall this is an excellent case. It is durable and provides the type of quality I expect from Otterbox with less bulkiness than previous models. I would have given this case 5 stars if it had a built in screen protector, but sadly the case is open on the front. This seems to be the trend with most phone cases now days though so I can't say I have any real complaints about my purchase. At the end of the day this case is worth the money and it will keep your phone safe without a doubt.

I only use Otterbox Defender to protect my cell phones for my whole family. I cant tell you how many times we all drop our phones and not even a scratch on the phone. If you want to look like everyone else with a cracked screen then dont buy this product. I will only and always use OtterBox to protect my cell phones.

This is my second OtterBox Defender Case . The first case kept my phone protected and looking like new for the entire 3 1/2 years I kept the phone. The new Defender Series Pro is without the screen protector, and seems heavier than the original. It also lacks the cut out for the Apple logo on the back of the phone . The holster latch holding the phone in place does not feel like it is secure enough for this heavy case. Overall it is a solid case, but I preferred the OtterBox Defender Case I had for my IPhone 6.

This case is a must and if you want a screen protector you’ll need to buy it separately. The only fault with this product is that because it does its job so well they needed to eliminate the screen protector so as not to void the Apple iPhone warranty due to moisture damage from sealing the phone so tight. Gorilla glass is an extra purchase but well worth it. This case is a must for those that will expose the phone to a lot of rough handling. Love this case

Otterbox has always provided superior protection for your expensive mobile devices... Until now. Don't get me wrong, they still have a good product but on the newer versions for anything newer than an iPhone 8 you no longer get the built in screen protection. For the new models you now have to purchase screen protection from someone else but that did not stop them from increasing the price for less protection.

As with nearly all OtterBox products, this one is excellent. It protects the phone well and also seals out dust and contaminants. The only negative is that it does not include a screen protector.
