I've been using the Oura Ring 4 for a few months, and it's easily one of the best wellness purchases I've made. I love that it gives me detailed insights into my sleep, readiness, activity, and stress levels without having to wear a bulky smartwatch all day. The sleep tracking has been especially helpful. Seeing trends in my sleep quality and recovery has encouraged me to make healthier choices and build better habits. I appreciate how comfortable and lightweight the ring feels. I often forget I'm even wearing it. The app is easy to understand and presents the data in a way that feels useful rather than overwhelming. I also like the sleek design. it looks like a piece of jewelry instead of a fitness tracker. Overall, the Oura Ring 4 has helped me become more aware of my health and recovery while fitting seamlessly into my daily life. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and effective way to track their wellness. I even convinced my best friend to get one and she absolutely loves it.

I’ve been extremely impressed with the Oura Ring. It’s sleek, comfortable, and easy to wear 24/7. The sleep tracking is outstanding, giving clear, actionable insights into sleep quality, recovery, and readiness without feeling overwhelming or gimmicky. What really sets Oura apart is how well it connects the dots between sleep, activity, stress, and overall health. The daily readiness score is surprisingly accurate and helps me make smarter decisions about training, rest, and recovery. I also appreciate the focus on long-term trends rather than just daily numbers, which makes the data genuinely useful. The app is clean, intuitive, and well-designed, and the battery life is excellent compared to other wearables. If you’re looking for a low-profile, high-quality health tracker that prioritizes sleep and recovery without the bulk of a smartwatch, the Oura Ring is absolutely worth it.

I’ve had my Oura Ring 4 (size 7) for a little while now and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations. The fit is perfect lightweight, comfortable, and sleek enough to wear every single day without it feeling bulky. I was worried a smart ring might get in the way, but this one blends in so naturally with my lifestyle. The sleep tracking is what truly impressed me. The insights are incredibly detailed and actually helped me understand my habits better instead of just throwing random numbers at me. The readiness and stress features feel surprisingly accurate too, especially on busy days when I already know I’m running low on energy. Battery life has been great, the app is clean and easy to use, and the ring itself looks premium without screaming “tech device.” I also love that it’s stylish enough to wear with anything while still being functional. If you’re on the fence about getting an Oura Ring 4, I genuinely think it’s worth it. It feels like having a wellness coach on your hand without being overwhelming. Definitely one of the best tech purchases I’ve made.

    Oura ring - 4, black

I've been wearing the Oura Ring 4 in black for a month now and it's become part of my daily routine in a way no smartwatch ever did. The biggest upgrade from the Gen 3 is comfort — the interior is completely flush with no sensor bumps, so you forget it's there. The titanium build feels premium without being flashy, and the black finish is subtle enough for any setting. Sleep tracking is where this thing earns its keep. I've always thought I slept fine, but seeing my REM and deep sleep breakdowns night after night helped me spot patterns I would've never noticed on my own. The Readiness Score has genuinely changed how I plan my days — if recovery is low, I scale back instead of pushing through. It sounds simple but having the data makes the difference. Battery life is solid. I charge it once a week while I'm getting ready in the morning and never think about it otherwise. The app redesign is a huge improvement too — clean layout, easy to read, and the trend reports over weeks and months are where the real value lives. few honest downsides: No GPS means you still need your phone for outdoor workouts. And I take it off for anything involving weights or gripping — titanium scratches. Overall, if you want health tracking without screen fatigue and constant notifications buzzing your wrist, the Oura Ring 4 nails it. It's not perfect, but it's the best smart ring out there right now.

Seriously, I was so bummed when I saw how easily this thing scratched. For the price, I expected way better durability. It looks like a wreck after just a few uses. I'm really regretting this purchase right now. Definitely not worth the money if it can't even hold up to normal wear and tear.

PRODUCT Oura Ring 4 - Smart Ring - Size 12 - Stealth Model:JZ90-54218-12SKU:6595532 QUICK REVIEW First time Convert from Fitness Band to Fitness Ring In most cases it seems more accurate than my fitness band (FB), and it allows me to return to wearing a nice watch instead. Use the Sizing Kit and choose your ring carefully. The edges are somewhat sharp, which makes choosing a finger even more critical. The app is not as clear / easy as my FB app, but hopefully it will continue to evolve. In short, I recommend the OURA 4, with a few reservations, but especially if you want to free up your wrist from a fitness band it is a good option. MORE DETAILS PROs - Solid very well build and nice looking - Easy to use and to get started - Long Life between charges - Fast Charging - Good (enough) app CONs - Very Large compared to a typical wedding ring - Edges are too squared off, almost sharp - App is sometimes hard to navigate to find what you want SIZING / EDGES I did not spend enough time with the kit. I ended up moving the ring from my left index finger to my right middle finger (the only other finger that fit). One big issue for me is that the edges are too squared off. I scrape myself all the time. I don’t mean I’m drawing blood (yet), but one main reason I moved fingers is that every time I touched my face, I scraped it on the edge of the ring. Even on my middle finger, I am scraping myself while washing my hair / face. PERFORMACE (Coming from FB) SLEEP TRACKING I found the ring to be especially more accurate in sleep measurement. How do I know this? We had a smoke alarm fail on us, and it was going off every few hours. FB gave me a sleep score of 85 and 7 hours of sleep. The Ring gave me a sleep score of 60 and 4.5 hours of sleep. In other words, the ring knew I was up tossing and turning and the FB did not. The Oxygen readings on the Ring are also more detailed as FB dumbed down the stats a few years ago. I have borderline sleep apnea (as diagnosed in a clinic). The Ring is giving me all sorts of warnings, while the FB says everything is within normal range. STEPS At first, when I had the ring on my left Index Finger the steps were almost identical to my FB and within 10% of my digital dress watch. However, once I moved the ring to my right middle finger, it started recording about 20% fewer steps. I don’t know if this is because it is a tiny bit more loose or Right hand Vs Left hand (maybe 11.5 vs 12). Or maybe the way I hold the dog leash (makes up most of my walking). THE APP There is nothing particularly wrong with the App, it just not as optimized as FB. For example, if you are looking at a stat (STEPS / SLEEP) it shows you a LEFT or RIGHT arrow to go to the previous day. However, instead of just taking you to the previous day, it brings up a full calendar and you have to pick the date. Of course, this is not the end of the world just wasted time hunting for things in the app. WHAT DO I MISS GOING FROM FB TO THE RING? - Vibration Alarms on FB - Seeing the Time at Night Both of these were easily solved by stealing the Digital Assistant Clock from my spouse’s side of the bed! FINAL IMPRESSIONS I am amazed at the size, accuracy and battery life of something like this. It is a marvel of miniaturization. I wish the finish was rounded and it was not scratching me. I wish it was a little smaller, but had I sized it right I probably would have moved it to another finger resulting in a smaller overall size. Finally, it would be perfect it is has some sort of vibration alert / alarm. Yes, I will replace my FB with the ring.

I bought the Oura Ring 4 in silver for my girlfriend and it turned out to be an incredible gift. The design is beautiful and minimal. It looks like an elegant piece of jewelry rather than a piece of technology. The silver finish is clean and subtle, so it matches everything she wears. What surprised us the most is how much useful information it provides. The sleep tracking and readiness insights are very detailed, and the app presents everything in a simple way that’s easy to understand. She actually looks forward to checking her sleep and activity scores every morning. It’s also extremely comfortable and lightweight, so she forgets she’s even wearing it. The battery lasts several days, which makes it easy to use without constantly thinking about charging it. Overall, this was a fantastic purchase and a really meaningful gift. If you’re looking for something that combines great design with powerful health insights, the Oura Ring 4 is absolutely worth it. My girlfriend loves it.

Lacking BP and ECG but still a good health device

I've been slowly watching not only the emergence but rapid developments in smart health devices over the last decade and I've been wanting to try out a device here or there. I do use an iPhone and Apple Health has helped me track my activity levels, but to really take it to the next level I needed a device that interfaced directly with my body for true monitoring and analysis. The watch just seemed somewhat cumbersome and I'm not a watch wearing kind of person (yet) so I started to look at rings and Oura offered their Oura 4 so I took a chance. What I do like is it is a two step process. First, you get a sizing kit which is a series of pre-sized bands and you simply try them on till you find the fit that works for you. You then submit your size to Oura (along with band color, type, etc..) and they then set up a ring custom to that size with its own serial number. Ring sizes vary from 4 to 15 and depending on your finger selection, the sizing can and will be different. For example, my thumb is a 15, pointer and middle are 13 and 12 respectively but my ring finger is an 11 and that is the finger I opted to use. One thing I do wish is Oura offered half size increments. 12 was a little loose but 11 was just a touch too snug. I went with an 11 seeing as I wanted to make sure it was making proper contact. An 11.5 would have fit just right. After submitting my size, I was sent the actual Oura Ring itself in very smart packaging that includes an excellent presentation. Inside, you get the ring and its charging stand which is also very well constructed. It oozes Apple type polish. Even the included USB-C cable is nice and lastly you get a very small manual that has numerous QC codes to point you to not only the app which is required but other resources. The ring itself is very polished and nice looking. Oura says to wear it at all times, but I still find myself removing it to lift weights though. Setting up the ring was very easy. Download the app, have it find your docked ring via Bluetooth, pair and you're finished. A firmware update was immediately available. The app will lead you through numerous steps to help personalize your goals and to enable Oura to interface with Apple Health if you're using an iPhone. Lastly, it will ask to be allowed to send you notifications. I'm still in the process of letting Oura learn my baseline health and sleeping patterns so that will take another week or so (it says it can take up to two weeks). I was happy to know the cardio and strength training I already do has resulted in a sub 50 nightly heartrate and a sub 60 resting heart rate. It is nice to see my bpm react accordingly when I'm eating foods not so great. I found out my sleep was just ok and needs improvement and how many times I wake up in the middle of the night. It will even remind you to get up and move around if you work a sedentary job like I do plopped in front of a computer. It sets initial activity goals for you and will let you know how you're progressing during the day of achieving them even through basic day to day tasks. The Oura app really is designed to take all the data it can from your finger and extract every bit of useful info to help you know where you stand and where you want to go. It is the crucial piece of the puzzle that brings everything together. This is what seperates it from the Apple Watch right now is the sheer amount of data it provides you compared to the Apple Watch. Initially when I was wearing the Oura, it felt like it was in my way and distracting because I'm not used to wearing rings or watches. After a day or so, I found myself not even noticing it and it has pretty much become an extension of my hand and doesn't get in the way. Perfect, right? Not exactly. A subscription is basically mandatory to really get the proper use out of what can be a pretty pricey piece of health tech. The upside is the cost is only $6 a month or $70 a year but that doesn't change the reality that you will need to continue paying more after the initial purchase. Another thing is unlike Apple Watch, it can not read your blood pressure from your finger. It also can not do Electrocardiogram (ECG) either like an Apple Watch. As someone who likes to monitor their blood pressure, this was a major letdown. Lastly, as mentioned at the beginning, offering half sizes would have really let me dial in my ring size instead of having to select a size either a tad too snug or a tad too loose. Having taken this first step into smartwear for health, I can say I am liking getting all this data about my day to day cardiovascular health and how it correlates with everything I do. I may end up stepping up to another device that can do blood pressure and ECGs in the future, but for now the Oura is giving me exactly what I need to start this journey.

The Oura Ring 4 has completely changed how I understand my sleep and recovery. It’s incredibly comfortable — I forget I’m wearing it — yet it delivers detailed sleep staging, readiness scores, HRV, heart rate, and activity tracking that actually help me adjust my habits. The battery lasts nearly a week, the design is sleek and lightweight, and the insights in the app are clear and actionable. I’ve improved my sleep routine just by following the trends it shows me. Yes, there’s a subscription for full features, but for the depth of sleep and recovery data you get, it’s absolutely worth it. If you care about better sleep, smarter recovery, and a wearable that doesn’t get in the way, this is it.

Quick Overview ================================= I was very curious to see how a smart ring would fit into a "smart fitness device" ecosystem. They've been out for years - led by Oura - and this is their 4th version. The Oura Smart Ring 4. With no display and no vibration for feedback or notifications, could this be useful and/or replace a smartwatch or fitness band? Overall build ================================= After completing the sizing using Oura's sizing kit, you'll order your Oura Smart Ring 4 which comes with a charging stand that the ring sits perfectly into. I chose the "brushed silver" version and it looks and feels great! The etching they did on the surface somehow really catches the light while looking matte. It's hard to describe, but it really is interesting to look at! I read that it's made entirely of titanium so it should be quite sturdy. Externally, you'll see a small divot or dimple. That helps you wear the ring properly. That dimple should face in on your palm side. If you look inside the ring, you may catch some of the lights and sensors that line the inside portion. There are more sensors than the previous generations and should account/allow for some of the ring spinning that will happen during a normal day. Whenever I could, I tried to make sure the dimple was facing into the palm side of my hand. Once you set the ring onto the charging stand and plug in a USB-C cable, the light will glow and you can then open the Oura app (Android, for me) to set up the ring. It should see the ring right away and you'll complete the setup by answering a few questions and allow the application to access the things it needs to track your location and activity. Once that was done, it was time to do testing - which just means wear it for 5 days or more, and see how it goes. The ring is waterproof, so taking a shower or bath is no problem. Performance ================================= In testing, I wore the ring for 3 days before the battery indicator (in the app) showed less than 30%. At that time, I charged it and put it back on when it was full. Supposedly I could have pushed this for 2-3 more days, but I didn't want it to end up dead if I was out and about. As you can imagine, since the ring has no display, no indicator lights, nor any vibration for notification, you must check the app for everything. Luckily, it's a pretty nice app! At the top, you'll see things like "Readiness" (did you have a good, restful sleep?), "Sleep", "Activity", and "Heart Rate" so you can get some "at a glance" info, and below that you can dig into things like your actual activity, heart rate, and sleep. As you click into each one, you can get more details about your sleep quality, REM sleep, deep sleep, etc. During the setup, you may have selected some of your favorite activities. For me, I chose tennis, table tennis, and walking. As it tracks activities throughout the day, it will make a best guess regarding what you might have done. Later, you can check the app and confirm or edit what it guessed. I really liked that compared to my Fitbit Charge 5 which doesn't do much regarding activities it doesn't recognize. The 3 sections at the bottom include Today, Vitals and My Health. Today gives you your daily snapshot of activities as expected. Vitals lets you dig into the stats a bit more, while My Health is supposed to give you more updated data after gathering data for up to 2 weeks. As of now, since I've been testing for a week, it says that each category is still "calibrating". After gathering this data, I'd assume it could get a more accurate baseline of my activity and stress levels to better alert me when I may be feeling stressed, etc. Stats-wise, if I compare this to my Fitbit Charge 5, the steps are usually within 1-2% so I'd say it's pretty accurate. My sleep tracking seems more accurate with the Oura 4 because my Fitbit will mistakenly think that reading in bed is sleeping time! With the Oura Smart Ring 4, I haven't had to edit or correct the sleep times. Apparently some independent studies have shown the Oura is very accurate (5% more than Apple Watch and 10% more than Fitbit). All of this accuracy and comfort does come at a price. The price of the ring which is up there with a high-end smartwatch, and the subscription which is $70 annually. I do love the data and the application as a whole, but it's up to you if you think that price is worth it for data and a device with no display or native notification capabilities. Conclusion ================================= Could this be your only fitness tracking device if you're somewhat of a minimalist and like your classic analog watches? Yes, I think it gives you a wealth of accurate data that you'd have to check in the app, of course. Could this be your secondary fitness tracker if you already have a smartwatch? Maybe, but the value proposition gets quite a bit smaller. It's within 1-10% of a smartwatch's accuracy, but it has no display nor vibration for notifications. It does have a great app that has a lot of information, and it's comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I'd recommend this highly for those that don't want to invest in a smartwatch or fitness tracker since it's very unobtrusive and gets you nicely presented, accurate data. As a "backup" or secondary device to a smartwatch, I'd say get it if you don't like your current sleep tracking stats (I'm looking at you, Fitbit!).

Design & Comfort • Sleek, minimalist titanium design with recessed sensors improves comfort and elegance. No more interior bumps. • Particularly comfortable for 24/7 wear—lightweight, discreet, and barely noticeable. Health Tracking Capabilities • Uses advanced “Smart Sensing” with multiple sensor pathways for improved accuracy and fewer data gaps. • Exceptional sleep and readiness tracking, sleep stages, heart rate, Temperature, HRV, and cycle insights. Battery & Performance • Battery life extends up to ~7–8 days per charge. • Improved data presentation via an overhauled app—intuitive, streamlined, and insightful. Sizing & Fit • Sizes range from 4 to 15. The sizing kit is highly recommended, as sizes differ from earlier generations. • Some users report the ring may feel a bit loose even when correctly sized—spending a full day/night with the sizing ring is advised to ensure a perfect fit. Subscription Consideration • A required subscription (~US $5.99/month or ~$70/year) unlocks full functionality—insightful metrics and trend data are otherwise limited. Verdict & Value • Critics frequently name it the best smart ring on the market for its comprehensive data, accuracy, sleek design, and cross-platform compatibility. • Drawbacks: High price point (starts at $349–$399; up to $499 for premium finishes like Stealth) and the ongoing subscription adds to lifetime cost. Real User Feedback (Best Buy Reviews Summary) • Across 1,400+ reviews, the ring scores highly for sleep tracking, comfort, and battery life (4.6 overall). • Commonly noted pros: accurate sleep tracking, long-lasting battery, comfortable fit. Cons cited include the subscription fee and vulnerability to scratches.

The Oura fitness ring is a very insightful little device. I think what it helped me with most is my sleep and recovery tracking. It has learned my rhythm over use each day, recommended bed times and provided details about my sleep efficiency, restlessness, recovery etc. I find that when I wake up the sleep score and recovery scores are in line with how I feel. It helps me take it easier on days following poor sleep and pushing harder on days where I get good sleep. It’s handy to have metrics on sleep that provide clarity on how I feel each day. I’d say that’s one of the most useful features. From a comfort standpoint, this is where I’m taking a start away. The ring is kind of chunky. You never forget that you’re wearing a ring. Especially if you wear it on either your ring or middle finger, it will be pushing against your other fingers. I’d suggest wearing it on the index finger as is recommended, though I didn’t particularly like wearing the rings from the sizing kit on my index finger. Along with comfort, if you are wearing this ring while working out, it gets in the way of pulling movements. The ring digs into your hand and causes some wicked callouses and general pain/soreness. Pressing movements aren’t bad though. If you have a tendency to play with your ring, there is a notch on the bottom that indicates how the ring should be oriented, I can’t help but press on this with my thumb, then use it to rotate around, it’s begging to be fidgeted with. From a durability standpoint, I am already starting to notice some scratches in the finish. (Stealth color - dark grey/black) these scratches are located on the bottom of the ring, probably from the gnurling on the bar. The charger works well and charges fast, the battery lasts a really long time. If you take it off during showers, it generally stays topped off and ready to go. All in all, I like the insightful features along with the classic handsome styling. It definitely beats the older style with the large flat spot.

Oura Ring is a sleek and comfortable wearable that blends seamlessly into everyday life. Its minimalist design makes it easy to wear 24/7 without feeling bulky or distracting. The sleep tracking is especially impressive, providing detailed insights into sleep stages, quality, and recovery. I appreciate how clearly the app explains data, making health information easy to understand. The readiness and activity scores help encourage healthier daily habits without feeling overwhelming. Battery life is strong, lasting several days on a single charge. The ring feels durable and well-made despite its lightweight design. It’s great for people who want health tracking without a traditional smartwatch. The data feels accurate and consistent over time. Overall, it is an excellent choice for anyone focused on improving sleep, recovery, and overall wellness.
