I used to wesr an apple watch but i found it wouldnt accuratrly track my walking. It also would need to be charged every night otherwise id go a full day without tracking my activity. With the ring lasting 7 days, bettet tracking and overall more aesthetically pleasing, im happy!

Love that it tracks with the Health app. I would recommend getting the ring covers to prevent scratches.

I have this ring for a little over 2 weeks and I like the design of it and I don’t really notice that I am wearing it because it is pretty light weight. However the app I am still trying to get used to and not really sure if I like its layout yet but I do like the fit and design of the ring itself , I have notice it does scratch very easy.

I love my oura ring! The sleep tracking feature has been super helpful for me! I like the recommendations it gives. I’m a little sad that oura came out with a smaller ring right after I bought this one though.

I REALLY wanted to love this ring. Although I'm a tech junkie, I hate wearing a watch, especially when sleeping. But, I don't mind wearing a ring all day/night, so this seemed like a perfect solution. Unfortunately, I barely like, let alone love it. Here's why: 1. Misses 80% of my activity. Despite being advertised as tracking even "your dog walks," it misses most of these (yes, i did the proper fitting before purchase). When worn with the watch simultaneously, the watch never missed! 2. Most of the 10% it does track are delayed and I have to keep turning off/on Bluetooth for it to pick it up. It never did pick up a 20min full body workout that my watch tracked. And my watch tracks pretty much ANY movement I make. 3. Custom tags are only usable for manual activity entries, can't edit auto-captured activity with your new tag when that does work. And it doesn't keep the custom tag for re-use, you have to re-enter custom every time. 4. You have to choose between tracking calories OR steps for activities 5. Ok, so the pluses: It looks cool (I had the black one), and it really shines most at sleep tracking. Good battery life and charges very quickly. For those complaining about the "hidden" subscription fee, just do your research before purchase! If the ring were more functional, I'd happily pay the annual fee. BUT sleep tracking is not worth keeping for the price and I'll sacrifice sleep data for the more functional Samsung Galaxy Watch I already have. RETURNED!

I got this about a month ago and I’m liking it, good info on sleep and stress patterns. Charging every Sunday so far, takes about 45 minutes to 1 hrs to charge depending on the charging block you use.

I am very impressed with the battery life of this ring. It lasts for 4-5 days, and it charges quickly. I like the app and has many informative insights. The app reminds tou when you are getting near your sleep time. The only downside is that you have to pay for the monthly subscription or yearly. My ring gor scratched up very quickly towars the bottom but that could be because of normal activities. Defintely go in store and try on different sizes before buying.

Was reluctant when I bought it as I did not think I really needed one but in fact, it is a life changer. I am improving my health by being able to observe every accurate detail of my life which would have gone unnoticed, from sleep quality, impact of certain foods and level of activity to body temperature and stress. The food diary is amazing with photo recognition, it even detects unusual foods with little to correct. I paired it with a glucose monitor and my Apple Watch.

Best investment ever, I have always been an Apple Watch since the first generation. The oura ring has been life changing for me. Just recently I wasn’t feeling well, the oura kept telling me something about was wrong. I paid attention, I had another warning, saying I should contact a physician, I did not ignore it I was having shortness of breath my watch never picked up on it, I am so thankful for my oura ring, I was having an acute asthma attack. Doctors right away notice what my oura ring was detecting. I definitely recommend it 100/100! Life changing for sure.

Purchased this item for myself... Have been wearing for approximately 14 days now and I've only charged it on the weekend. Great battery life. I work in constructions and had concerns of it being scratched, happy to report none have occurred. Durable, lightweight, and waterproof build makes it comfortable for daily use. Application provides detailed description of useful data to improve on quality of life. Calorie / steps tracker #'s may be slightly off, however in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons. The meditation feature is also enjoyable and used sometimes before going to sleep. Also bought one for my wife, she enjoys the ceramic white color and also shares similar positive feedback.

I have no real complains the battery is great; it charges quickly so its not a hassle when the battery is low. sleep and heart feel really accurate detects my movement pretty well. I know it's not going to be more accurate than a smart watch but its still really really close and you dont have to carry anything bulky when youre out and about. Everything it does it does really great so if youre seeing what it can do and want that I dont see why not.

Hidden fees. Not “Wearable” for Half of Us

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After three weeks of wearing an Oura Stealth on my index finger, I think until and unless Oura offers half sizes, this device should not be considered a “wearable” for many of us. I went to Best Buy to use their sizing kits and take advantage of helpful humans and same-day purchase. I was planning a trip in three weeks and wanted to test the ring’s ability to track health during travel. I found a Best Buy expert who said index is the preferred finger. A 9 was a bit tight but she said previous Oura owners were dissatisfied with results from other than a snug fit. I bought it. A week later I asked Oura Customer Service about the slight depression on my index finger and whether a ring finger is acceptable. Two days later I received a glorified AI FAQ (or rather, “FAQ off”) email with a name at the bottom to make you think a human actually spent time on it. “Naomi” said only that index is preferred and there are no half-sizes. In effect, suck it up. Even so I went back to Best Buy to size the ring finger and found a slightly better fit, but Best Buy did not have it in stock. With only a few days left before departure I decided not to risk mail order. Big mistake. I learned that fingers swell quite a lot during air travel. At some point I noticed the ring was chafing painfully. I put some soap on it to get it over the knuckle and applied it to the ring finger, where it now fit pretty well. The ring finger test lasted two days. It was looser fit and did not pick up data near as well as the index. At some point I looked down to see the ring was gone. Whether at a luggage carousel or washroom I don’t know. But good riddance. The ring was nice looking though not as sleek as my wedding band; worn on the dominant index finger it interferes a bit with pens and forks, but on the other hand it interferes unacceptably with fretting a guitar. I didn’t like the app. I wanted to check it upon waking to see how sleep went, and review activities from the previous day. Data download data from the ring takes long—OK, a tradeoff for small size and longer battery life, live with that. Pressing the top-tab for “Yesterday” takes me to a calendar from which I can select yesterday and see… today’s scores again. After fussing about in the menus I manage to find yesterday’s data curves but I’m still not sure how I got there, perhaps it just takes time for the app to retrieve the saved data from a server somewhere. Activity tracking is not intuitive. The app guesses your activity and asks you to confirm. Guesses well for playing guitar or walking—stationary bike not so well, I think because the accelerometer is not as engaged. The ring has only this, ten-minute interval heart rates, SpO2 readings and time of day as inputs, and uses some algorithms to interpolate from that. You can change the app’s guess about your activity by selecting from a list with “choices” including Finnish baseball but not, oddly enough, sex or sauna. I tried to use “Tags” feature as a workaround but the entry screen is unhelpful. I can choose Start and End times, but cannot compare to detailed heart rate graphs to refine when those happened. It takes three passes to save all three Tag data points. I got little from the analyses. It was told when I got to sleep late—I knew that without the app—but no advice on why REM and Deep sleep are consistently red, though I felt rested. (One poster on internet said he fixed his low scores but getting a different ring!) I saw interruptions in SpO2 that might mean sleep apnea—or one of five other things, like a poorly-fitting ring. I saw no info on stress levels (yet). I was consistently low on heart rate variability, which is supposedly a bad thing, but I felt fine. Maybe the ring needed more time to adjust to my personality. I was hoping to see if I needed the extra analysis provided by the add-on $5/month subscription but never did understand what was covered and what not. I see from Oura-sponsored research that Oura does a 5% better job at detecting sleep levels than other wearables; but none are as good as EEGs. Bottom line: expensive with hidden fees. If a perfect fit, it might work for you. Otherwise, until and unless Oura makes half sizes for the rest of us, their rings cannot really be considered “wearables.” Watch formats work as well for less money.

I really love this ring! I had my eye on the Oura ring for months, but couldn’t decide if I wanted to pull the trigger on getting it or not. Now, I love waking up everyday and checking my scores based on what the app tells you. You can either pay the monthly subscription or not, but I pay to get all the added features with it. It’s pretty neat to see when your scores are low and actually feeling what the numbers show. I utilize the ring for activity and managing stress. Best purchase ever! I would recommend getting a cover for the ring so you avoid scratching the ring, especially when you are lifting weights.
