[PROS] Remarkably Comfortable: As a married man, I'm used to wearing a ring so I have something to compare against the Oura Ring 5. This device is definitely more pleasant to wear, and feels virtually weightless. There are times when I forget that its on my finger unless I drop them down onto a very firm surface. Well Designed Software: I had my doubts about such a relatively small device being able record and transmit data effectively, but the Ring 5 has been very surprising. Using the Oura app has been a seamless experience. As soon as I open the software, the app starts to sync with the device without any delay. All of my data is uploaded within less than a minute, and I'm able to get the metrics along with a summary and helpful tips immediately. Navigating among the menu options is easy because of the interface being very intuitive. Also, I'm not bloated with notifications throughout the day from the app which is also another positive. Week long battery: The battery life is probably the most convenient feature. I dread needing to take proprietary chargers with me when it comes to trips. With the Ring 5, I can charge my device before I leave and go on vacation without any worry. [CONS] Charging Restraints: I think the only true negative about this device is that a ring is restricted to size specific charging docks. This means that any spouses or other loved ones wishing to charge their own Oura device must wear the same ring size. [CONCLUSION] Overall, the Ring 5 is neat, pleasant, and very useful device. There are times when I don't want to be limited to using a smart watch to track health data, and this product solves that issue. It's can be worn comfortably all day, and be used all week without reliance of daily charging. The app is snappy and has an organized layout that provides a great overview of all of my data. The Ring 5 is a no brainer recommendation.

Previously, I’ve had the Wop band and it provided a lot more in-depth health insight compared to the aura ring 5 which was classy, but did not meet my standards for a health device.

Purchased this ring and literally had it for less than a week and it turned out off completely, wouldn’t charge and wouldn’t turn back on. Purchased a warranty, even though I was within returning. But since all the gold is sold out, I couldn’t get it replaced. I’m so disappointed because I had such high hopes for this ring.

I love everything about this little device. I had one of the first generation rings and while it performed well, it was considerably larger. This is so much more compact and the battery life is outstanding. I also really like having a black ring, as there are various color choices. Monitoring our health statistics is important, especially as we get older. Being a sixty year old male, I watch several metrics to monitor not only current health, but watching for warning signs. This little device tells me important vital statistics such as heart rate, sleep patterns and statistics, resilience, readiness, activity, and levels of stress. After requiring a CPAP in the past, I pay special attention to sleep patterns. The level of monitoring this ring performs is simply amazing. It gives me details such as total sleep, efficiency of sleep, restfulness, amount of REM sleep, deep sleep, latency, resting heart rate, oxygen saturation, and finally, a sleep score that lets me know where I can improve. It also does a great job of tracking activities along with several metrics being reported. It interfaces with my smartwatch as well, sharing data between the applications. This is an amazing device and I highly recommend it.

The Oura Ring 5 is honestly a really nice fitness ring that is hampered by the companies decision to put core functionality behind a monthly subscription. I really like the size and weight of the new Oura Ring 5 compared to the 4, the new thinner and lighter ring is much more comfortable for daily wear and the improved finish makes it much more scratch resistant than previous generations. However, with the stealth finish, I did notice small superficial scratches within the first week of daily use, these are not major scratches and are hardly noticeable without looking very closely, but these are not scratch proof by any means. The improved size and weight of the Oura Ring 5 makes it easy to wear daily and the improved battery life means you can wear this for well over a week without needing to charge, and if you take it off and charge for short moments you can go much longer between needing to fully charge. I got into the habit of charging while taking a shower and these short bursts of charging meant I didn't need to fully charge at any point during several weeks of use. The fact that almost all of the tracking and functionality is locked behind a subscription makes this something that I cannot honestly recommend to anyone looking for a wearable health tracker. There are so many alternatives that do not require a recurring subscription for functionality and I would recommend any of these over the Oura Ring 5. Almost all of the major phone manufacturers have some form of lightweight wearable for the same or less than the Oura Ring 5. The only exception, and only if you don't want to wear a watch, would be Apple who does not have a small wearable health device. Honestly, I would recommend getting a smart watch if you want full health tracking, but if you are only looking for basic heart rate and sleep tracking in a small wearable form factor I would check if there is a compatible wearable available from your phone manufacturer and would stay away from the Oura Ring.

This is not about the product, but Best Buy instead. Their return/exchange policy is outrageous and simply unacceptable, especially when it involves a gift and item that involves sizing, with no exceptions. Had I know about the 2 week policy beforehand I would not have purchased such an expensive item from them. Know better-Do better

Limited results. Double the price of the new watches. I'd rather have the watch.,

Best Buy.. shame on you! I purchased this ring for my husband. It didn’t fit so we went to exchange it. They did not have his size and then they told us we were 2 days too late from the “two week” return policy. That is not stated anywhere as I am a long time Best Buy card holder. They only gave me store credit! Never again!

This little ring could possibly be my favorite piece of tech I've ever used. I'm blown away by everything it can do. I've had a smart ring before, but every ring I've used before this one was so chunky and clunky that I ended up not wearing it after a few months...but the Oura 5 is unreal. It's so thin and light I almost don't even realize it's on my finger most of the day; I don't feel the sensor bumps at all. Speaking of the sensors... The amount of data this ring collects is truly incredible. I'm most interested in my sleep data, and the nightly graphs and analysis have been so helpful. After a short period of time, I've already been able to take the information about my sleep and use it to make some changes in my nightly routine. As a new father to a very fussy baby, any information I can get to improve my sleep quality (since I won't be getting more quantity any time soon...) is a godsend. I'm also quite pleased with the data on stress and daily readiness. The most pleasant surprise of this ring is how well it interfaces with my Apple Watch and the Health app on my phone. The ring is able to log all of my activity and workouts automatically, AND it automatically sends the data to the Health app. I'm so pleased with the integration work that Oura has done. Another thing I've been happy with is the battery...you'd think with the ring getting smaller from previous versions it would have worse battery life, but that has not been my experience at all. I charged it to 100% before wearing it for the first time, and I was able to go almost 7 complete days before the ring finally died. The Oura app was yelling at me to charge the ring around Day 5, but I stretched out for another 2 days. The only minor gripe I have is probably unique to the finish I chose (Stealth). Within the first day, some of my skin oils got on the outside of the ring and it's left a stain that nothing I've tried has been able to remove it. I'm also noticing a few minor scuffs and scratches in the finish from normal wear & tear. If I had to choose again, I would go with plain silver or another finish that isn't brushed. In a short time, this ring has become indispensable in my daily routine, and it is one of my favorite pieces of tech I've ever used.

Not as accurate as whoop and also give rashes to fingers. Would highly recommend to have whoop or google fit band rather than a ring.

I've never owned a device like this, even my smart watches tend to be more on the dumb side just giving me the basics of a pedometer and general notifications, I never use the health tracking because I dont want to use up the battery as fast. Having a device devoted to this so that my watch doesnt need to burn through battery quickly is quite cool, especially with how efficient the ring is. To start: When you get an Oura ring you start with a sizing kit, it lets you pick out the exact ring size that you will wear. Now this is an important step because it does not appear to match with true ring sizing out there so be sure to use the Oura sizing kit and dont assume you know your ring size. My Aura ring size is 7 where my jewelry ring size for the same finger is 5.75. I dont know if this is intentional or just how their system works out, but be sure to pay close attention to the Oura sizers. Use: Once you finish sizing you send in your size and a few days later you receive your ring. Setup is similar to most devices of the type, you pair it with the app and go through some basic setup information. Immediately it started tracking my sleep and giving me insights that I didn't know into my day to day routines. There's a lot of intelligence in this ring and the app itself and if you're interested in your health beyond simple heart rate, steps and such, there's a lot here to learn and benefit from. It tracks activity, sleep, readiness (which is a combination of your health and sleep stats). There's a lot to use here. The ring itself stays charged for a long time, the literature says charge every 6-9 days which is great since my watch needs to be charged almost daily, so one less thing to have to keep track of as often. Overall: Great insight into your health and particularly your sleep (especially since most of us charge smart watches while we sleep). Long battery life, lots of options. Just be sure to use the ring sizer that it comes with.

I’ve been an Oura user since the beginning and have watched both the technology in the ring and the app develop exponentially with each generation. I was almost surprised when Gen 5 came out so soon after 4, but now that I’ve experienced it I am so glad it was pushed up! The size difference is immediate when you take off the 4 and put on the 5. Thinner, narrower, and completely smooth inside - it’s the ring you can wear 24 hours a day without even noticing it. That’s a good thing considering the battery really does make it a full week now with a charge. The app is where everything comes together, and having used all the competitors I would say it’s comprehensive enough to get the insights that most power users need without the granularity and overkill that others do. Simply said - if you want to know more about how your body works, what has effects on it (positive and negative) and see the changes you are making; this is the one for you. While i think it’s fantastic, there’s still a little work to do on some of the latest features like live exercise tracking. I wear my ring snug, but found there was a lot of discrepancy in what I was seeing on the live screen versus what my watch was showing me in separate tracking. This is a recent feature and i know they will continue to refine it over time.

It scratches within 10 days. The quality is not worth the price.

I paid an extra hundred dollars to get the upgraded ring charger and every day my ring needs to be charged with it.

So far, I have been enjoying this ring. I chose to use this on my ring finger in place of my wedding band. The sizing was on par with my wedding band size. I will first start out with saying you get a free month with this. I do not know what you can or could not do if you do not have the subscription. That said, I love gaming which comes with sitting. Even my job for work can have me sit all day. So, one thing I have come to love about this ring is that it seems to detect that and will alert me via that app that I have been sitting and it is time to get up and move around. It also will give me a warning that it is getting close to bedtime. Again, with gaming, I tend to forget these things and lose track of time. Especially bad Friday evening to Sunday evening. So, it is nice to get the reminders. This will also keep track of activity progress thru out the day and if you have achieved your progress goals. As well as tracks your heart rate. It also seems to hold a charge for a while. I can where it for a week before charging it. I see that you can buy a charging case and connect that to the app. I wish they would have just included that. As well as the provided charging dock, you have to set it in a certain way. I wished they could have made a way that it could sit any way and charge. Overall, I personally have enjoyed using, love the color that I got (Black) and recommend if you are looking for a smaller smart device.
