Incredible Insights in a Small Package

I've been extremely happy with the Oura Ring 5. The biggest value for me isn't just collecting health data—it's actually understanding what that data means. I check my Readiness, Sleep Score, Stress, Restoration, and Resilience every day, and over time the ring has established a personalized baseline that makes the information much more meaningful. One feature I use all the time is the AI assistant. I can ask questions about my trends and get recommendations that help connect the dots between my habits and how I'm feeling. I also like being able to add tags for things like exercise, travel, or changes to my routine. Looking back at those tags has helped me figure out what improves my sleep and recovery and what tends to work against me. The ring itself is sleek, lightweight, and comfortable enough that I forget I'm wearing it. It looks good, doesn't get in the way during the day, and has become part of my daily routine. If you're looking for a wearable that provides meaningful health insights instead of just collecting numbers, I highly recommend it.

    Smart Little Ring

I like this Oura ring a lot more as a sleep and recovery tracker than as a workout device. It is slim enough that I forget it is on, and the brushed silver finish looks more like normal jewelry than tech. The app is the real reason to buy it, since the sleep, readiness, heart rate, and stress info is easy to understand without feeling like a spreadsheet. Battery life is also strong enough that I do not feel like I am constantly charging it. The downsides are pretty clear though. You really need to use the sizing kit first because the fit matters a lot, especially if your fingers swell at night or during workouts. I also would not buy this expecting Apple Watch style fitness tracking, because workout heart rate and activity detection can still be a little hit or miss. The subscription is annoying after already paying this much, but if you mainly want comfortable sleep tracking and health trends without wearing a watch to bed, it makes a lot of sense.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I bought the Oura Ring for my husband, and it has exceeded our expectations! The design is sleek, lightweight, and comfortable enough for him to wear day and night. The insights into his sleep, readiness, activity, and overall health have been incredibly eye-opening and have actually motivated him to make healthier choices. The battery life is impressive, the app is easy to navigate, and the data feels both detailed and easy to understand. It’s amazing how much information such a small device can provide without feeling bulky like a smartwatch. If you’re looking for a meaningful gift for someone who wants to better understand their health and wellness, I can’t recommend the Oura Ring enough. It has become part of his daily routine, and we’re both so glad we made the investment!

For context in this review - I'm an Apple Watch user, and I have owned a Oura Ring 3. If I'm honest, I stopped wearing the Oura ring 3 for a few reasons, the main one being how uncomfortably thick and large it was. People were always asking me about it... one person called it a "manhole cover on my finger" Well I'm happy to report that the Oura Ring 5 is NOT that way. This newest offering seems to have incrementally updated the same or similar sensor suite, and is now in a much more svelte package. This ring is approximately the same thickness as my tungsten carbide wedding ring, for reference. I swapped them out and don't notice the difference. As before, I continue to be astounded that Oura can sell this ring for what they do and then they still charge an annual fee to show/analyze/pass along the data. When you get into their app and everything its doing, you get a sense for why they charge, I'm just not convinced still that it's necessary. There seems to be some significant overlap, at least for me, with what apple is doing with Apple Health. I DO appreciate that I cam able to aggregate most/all of the data from my ring with other things like data from my Apple Watch and data from other wearables/medical devices/etc. If the Oura app was able to access things like my A1C measurements from the connected meter, I'd probably switch over completely. The new ceramic finishes are definitely worth the extra cost, even if they're getting into the spicy range. One thing to note, the divot that indicates which part of the ring should be towards your palm is very difficult to see/find on the new black ceramic finish, but I guess I'll suffer that ifor the sake of fashion. The pics I've attached to this review compare my old Ring 3 to the new Ring 5. Overall this is made very well, the app works well, and this has become a VERY wearable package. I dinged a single star in this review because I continue to dislike expensive hardware paired with expensive subscriptions, but there are going to be those, currently myself included, that justify the cost.

Love the finish and durability so far. Battery life has been great, especially since the size is much more slim--it really feels like premium jewelry. The app is easy to navigate and provides great data and solid experience. Very happy with the 5 so far.

I was hesitant to spend the money on a fitness ring, so I originally got a different brand that was less expensive. I wore it for a few months, but I didn't feel like it was giving me very accurate feedback and the app didn't give a lot of health insight. I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for the Oura when the 5 was released. Holy cow! So glad I did! I am so impressed with the feedback it gives regarding my sleep, daily activity, heart rates, breathing, and how they all work together and what it all means. It's crazy! I feel like it actually helps me to know when I need to make impactful changes to better my health. And the battery lasts me a week AT LEAST. So happy with this purchase!

The slim ring is a much better fit and the battery lasts longer than my last one (Gen 3). I like the feel and the additional features it has. I wear my all day, removing only to charge or when I'm showering and it's comfortable

The Oura Ring 5 has been one of the best health investments I’ve made. It’s comfortable enough to wear all day and night, and the insights into my sleep, recovery, heart rate, and daily readiness have helped me make smarter decisions about training and recovery. Instead of guessing when to push hard or take it easy, I have real data to guide me. The battery life is excellent, the app is easy to use, and the information is presented in a way that’s actually useful. If you’re serious about improving your health, fitness, and overall performance, I highly recommend the Oura Ring 5.

More narrow and less weight then Oura-Ring 4. It is such a nice design. Another family member has the Oura-Ring 4 so we definitely are able to compare. We love the Oura-Ring 5 new design changes.

As someone who is trying to move further away from smart watches, this is the perfect substitute to capturing all of the movement and health data I need even while I sleep. I’m impressed by the battery life of several days as well as the comfort in wearing it, I hardly notice it! For anyone considering a less invasive technology (I.e. something you can continue to wear without having to remove or experience discomfort as well as reduce notifications or distractions) this is the best investment!

I’ve been really happy with the Oura Ring 5 so far. The first thing I noticed was how much smaller and lighter it is compared to the Ring 4. It’s comfortable enough that I honestly forget I’m wearing it most of the time, which is exactly what I want from a wearable. If you’re upgrading from the Ring 4, the slimmer design alone is a noticeable improvement. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a comfortable smart ring with excellent health tracking.

I often forget I have this ring on because it's so light and comfortable. It measures all my daily activity and sleep tracking, which is comforting. It does so much and makes me feel a lot more comfortable having it on and tracking my daily routines, while providing reminders to keep me on track! I've told many about this ring and the benefits of wearing it and would absolutely want my friends and family to have one. Love it!
