    Expensive for not much benefit

As someone who’s had the Oura Ring for exactly a month, I’m kind of regretting my purchase. I had high hopes and liked the idea of this device but in practice, so far, I’ve been pretty disappointed. It’s a cool idea but it’s pricey and a bit boring. First I’ll focus on the positives: the ring is very sleek and the packaging is minimal but elegant. The charger is slim. The app is easy to use and the battery life is easy to monitor inside the app. As for in use, I purchased the Oura Ring because I’ve been very focused on my sleep and I wanted a way to measure how I was doing so I knew what areas to improve. In regards to that aspect specifically, the Oura Ring is pretty good. I enjoy seeing each night’s information which includes things like how much time was spent awake, REM, light, or deep, average HRV, heart rate, and things like latency, restfulness, total sleep, and more. It tells me when my ideal bedtime is approaching, which helps keep me on track. I like this. I also like how it's a ring instead of a watch. Now, the negatives… There’s much more of them than the positives. The sizing is not the most inclusive. It’s not cute; I wear a size 6 (probably could have gone with a 5.5 if that existed, but it doesn’t) and it looks pretty clunky on my hand. It’s also uncomfortable as it presses against the neighboring finger due to its thickness. Additionally, the ring is not cheap. Certain colors and the style only adds to the price. Not only does it have a high upfront cost, the subscription model is hard to swallow. You get a free 30 day trial which is nice but the ring really needs to learn over time and gather information before it can make some of the touted beneficial recommendations. Due to this, it sort of feels like just waiting for something to happen in the beginning. You can look at some immediate things but without more to compare it to, you don’t really know you’re doing. This for me is frustrating and you don’t get a good idea of how it truly functions with more data. Another huge negative for me is that while it gives you all this information, it doesn’t really do much with it. You’re left to do research on your own about how to improve things and look into reasoning about why your scores are what they are. And once you’ve seen a general theme to your information, there’s not much more you can do with it, so it becomes a bit everyday and the excitement wears off. It doesn’t really feel like you’re paying for any beneficial subscription because it just gathers your data and then… doesn’t do much with it. The information it does happen to include is very repetitive and it tends to say the same things every day without anything new. On top of this, I can’t get the blood oxygen sensing to work. I’ve tried it multiple times on my larger finger (making the ring much tighter) to see if that can make the blood oxygen sensor work but it never does. I ended up just turning off this feature because I’ve read it drastically reduces battery life. Another worthless (to me) feature is the activity and readiness tabs. The information it gathers is basic and it’s a bit finicky, it doesn’t always sense when I’m doing something and I feel I would be better served with a dedicated fitness / smart watch. I don’t even have much to say about these two tabs as now I pretty much ignore the readiness and the activity. These things combined add another layer of disappointment to the data as I feel I paid full price for something that doesn’t even fully work for me. This is definitely a luxury item. If it worked well and provided consistent, useful data and specific recommendations or guidance, with a lower price and no subscription, I would be much happier with it. But as it is, with the high upfront cost combined with the subscription model and disappointing features, I really wish I had not bought this. It doesn’t do enough for me and while it’s nice as an alternative to a watch, it’s just not enough at the high price. I would not recommend this unless you want something very basic and you really want to wear a ring.

Shows me my sleep and activity through out the day and just overall a great item to get, price is a bit high for a ring but it does everything a smart watch does besides showing you text. Great gift idea if someone doesnt like the new smart watches and is low profile while wearing it too

Got this ring for awhile and I wear it day and light. The monitoring functions and review capabilities are amazing while it helps me to manage my health and stress. It is pretty accurate and I love the App which is simple to use and easy to understand. Wish they have more health monitoring capability like blood pressure and oxygen level without relying on outside App. And battery life tends to deteriorate overtime.

If you don't like wearing electronics gadgets on hand. This is a great way for tracking your sleep and daily activities. I have an apple watch, but don't like it charging every day and also wearing it at night, also it doesn't go well with outfits and hate the distraction all the time with its tapping on notifications or anything else. I wore this for my first month and people hardly realized it was even a smart ring. So far very happy with and really like how it has so minimal intrusion. I took a star off, coz it is an expensive item to buy, but on top of that the subscription is also added cost if you need to know detailed analysis or your daily body condition, which is great btw, but wish the subscription price was lower

Excellent compliment to Apple Health and the other Health Applications I have loaded! Great accuracy so far after a month+ of use. Yes I was skeptical about adding another subscription and stalled until the last few days, however the insight this device has added has been worth the investment!

Ended up getting another for my wife. I understand the sub fee is off-putting. If you can look past it, the data is worth it, the design is nice, and its accuracy is really good. It knew I was about to be sick a whole 12 hours before I came down with a virus based on my body temperature spike. Its stuff like that has made me a believer in the product. It honestly takes it about 3 weeks to gather enough data on your body to offer worthwhile insights. It sucks because for the first three weeks i felt like i had wasted my money and was gonan return it. It wasnt until week 3 when reports started becoming available, plus the whole heads up about coming down with a bug beofere i even felt sick was the moment i said ok Oura you can have my monthly 5 dollars. They should make the free trial at leaat two minths to help those on the fence see the value in the device.

Waited for 4 years after fitbit filed a patent for a ring but has yet to offer one. Decided on the Oura ring after reading many reviews. I'm happy with the experience so far. The app provides A Lot of data, so if you are looking for that, you should be pleased. I was also interested in the oxygen sensor that Oura has and my watch did not, so another plus. I've had the ring for over a month and my wrist is still healing from 8 or more years of wearing a watch. The indents from the watch are clearly visible but slowly diminishing. The feeling of freedom, however, is marvelous and greatly appreciated!

A very sturdy little unit that gives me all of the health trackers that I would normally want for my watch, but now I get to wear whichever watch I would like. Much easier to match with outfits and still stay stylish, love this thing!

If you are looking for a way to monitor your sleep patterns beyond your smartwatch, this is the way to go. I use this so I have a 24-hour monitor of what my body is doing and reacting to. I have been using this product for one month now, every night after I take off my watch. Using the app for this product I now have a record of my sleep patterns and get information on what's needed to improve factors. I recommend the paid version of the app for full corrective use of this product. The battery level last a long time once it is fully charged up for the first time. I usually only need to charge it once a week during the off times I am not wearing it. it does work in sync with the Health app on the iWatch so when I get the updates it shows my activity for the day also on the app for this product. This was a useful addition to monitoring my health.

I’m loving this so far! I’ve had it about a month… it really encourages me to keep moving. It’s nice to see your activity through the app. Personally, I’m not a iwatch girl. I don’t like being that connected to my phone or bombarded with notifications. And they’re not attractive looking…So this cute little gold ring is SO nice for me! The battery is supposed to last ~1 week… mine lasts 5-6 days.

Love this piece of technology. I've struggled with sleep for awhile, and although it doesn't automatically make you sleep better, it provides the information to understand your habits and how they impact your sleep. From there, you can make the best choices. I do recommend the sizing kit. I had to make two different exchanges. The ring fits smaller than a normal ring due to the sensors. I would size up and choose a size that you can wear on multiple fingers to account for fluctuations due to weather, diet, exercise, etc.

Glad I did the sample ring fit check for a couple days. The size I ended up buying was different from what I originally thought I'd get. The ring is a little wider/bulkier than what I normally wear, but it's simplicity makes it look really nice and fun to wear daily. Loving the sleep tracking information as well as Daytime Stress monitoring and Resiliency monitoring. Really some interesting insights. I love that the app encourages activity as well as relaxing downtime to achieve a balance. Battery lasts multiple days per charge - I haven't let it go all the way down to test how long a full charge lasts.

My only regret is not getting it sooner. I am on a health journey and have come a long way. The Oura ring has made it so easy to track everything and gives me amazing insights that I can leverage to continue being health-focused. It also looks stylish and goes great with the rest of my jewelry. I love it. I think it is amazing that I only have to charge it for a couple of minutes for it to last 7 days. My only recommendation is to go one size up since it has a snug fit on the finger.

My wife has really been enjoying this. Helping her be a little more conscientious of her sleep, energy and goals for the day and night. She didn't want to sleep with a bulky watch on her wrist and never minds another ring on her fingers!! I catch her checking the app every day to review the data. And no complaints about paying for the monthly fee after the first free month. She says it's very comfortable and loves the notifications. Especially likes the reminders to breathe - funny how we forget to do that... Highly recommended...

LOVE this thing. I had a pixel watch before, was annoyed that Fitbit and Google couldn't get their act together. The strap was irritating, and I never used the call feature. With this Oura ring, I get everything I need in a fitness tracker, with none of the annoying ancillary BS. Lasts long (5 days before you need to charge, and it charges quick), and the fitness data is so detailed! The best thing is it is out of the way. I mean, it is kinda big on the finger, but so much better than an.annoying watch!

The Oura ring is a phenomenal fitness tracker. It is the best sleep tracker J have used, and when I got the flu last week, it was able to detect it from my elevated body temperature, heart rate and stress levels. Doesn’t get in the way and better battery life than Apple Watch.

This is good device. I was really enthusiastic for this. Good tech, but bad business model. The subscription makes it unsustainable, and it has literally no value without subscription. Compare it high quality fitness watches from Garmin, it's equivalent sometimes even cheaper pricing and give loads of fitness data and aesthetic value and no subscription. Also, this is a fundamental flaw, the ring size do change, while watch can adapt to wrist size. There is nothing we can do in this. My wife is not wearing this, lying on the side and I am canceling subscription. Such a good tech and such low outcome.
