||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring arrived 3 days late. Oura ring collects health parameter data but app software is crude and clumbersome. Readiness and Sleep scores are inconsistent. Tried to return to Best buy but was declined.

Buy some place else.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t buy this from Best Buy. Their customer service is comically bad. Hard to decide if they are worse to deal with online or in the store. I am enjoying the Oura ring though.

Very good, just know what you are getting
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the Gen3 Oura ring is a great health tracker, with a few faults. What's in the box: The ring, a charging stand and a getting started guide. Getting started: First of all, SIZE YOUR RING! Don't guess. Get the free sizing kit and wear around a couple sizes for a day and get a good pick on the size. Once you have done this and receive the actual ring, setup is a piece of cake. Download the app and charge the ring on the stand. With the ring on the stand you fire up the app and follow the steps. It just takes a few minutes. Use: the Gen3 can measure quite a few factors including motion, heart rate, body temperature and blood oxygen level. It uses these measurements throughout the day to determine a few factors and will give you overall scores. The "main" score is the readiness score which combines all the factors from the previous day and gives you an overall look at your readiness for the day. Also scored daily are sleep and activity. Readiness score: This combines a multitude of factors including resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body temperature, recovery, sleep and previous days activity. Combining all of this information will give you a score which is essentially a number from 0-100. Anything above 85 is optimal, below that is getting to the point where you need to recover more. If you get a lower score, the app will tell you what part effected the score and what you need to work on "recovering". Sleep Score: This combines total sleep, how quickly you fall asleep and how much REM, deep and light sleep you have. As well as what time you go to sleep and awake. The ring is very sensitive to movement, as well as heart rate and body temperature. In the couple weeks I've been using the ring, it seems to be fairly accurate in my sleep detection. The ring does automatically detect when you go to sleep and when you wake up, and it is very accurate. It will also detect naps and adjust your sleep and readiness scores. Activity: Here is where it does faulter some. Think of the ring as more of a sleep and overall movement tracker, that also does some activity tracking. This is not your main activity tracker, nor does it sync with any devices to provide heart rate during a workout (other than internally on the app, and not very well at that). I still use a watch when I'm actively working out, and using the apple health app it will transfer information back and forth. Also, when doing workouts with weights, you DO NOT want to wear rings anyway. The app provides some basic active activity tracking such as an outdoor walk, but thats about it. You can't, for example, use it to track your heart rate (very well) during a spin class. Battery life and charging: I tend to get 4-5 days of battery life out of the ring. Since there is no screen you must rely on the app to check battery status. You do run the possibility of having the watch die and you not knowing, and then losing out of valuable tracking information. You will get a notification on your phone to charge the ring, but if you receive that when you are not able to charge it....chances are you'll forget. The down side to not charging it nightly is you are not in a habit of charging it, and you can easily forget. The good part of the charging is it is very quick. You'll be back up and running within 30 minutes. With all of this in mind. The ring is very good. Do not plan to use it as your main activity tracker and you will be fine. This is very good at all other aspects, and does track sleep better than my previous watch based tracker.

Pleasantly surprised and unexpectedly helpful!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t really sure what to expect from the Oura Gen 3. I wasn’t skeptical, but I did wonder how a ring would perform as an adjunct into my health and sleep monitoring. Let’s talk about it. The ordering process is rather straight forward. Oura will send you a sizing kit, which contains plastic rings of all their sizes. These sizing rings are very accurate in comparison to the actual Oura Ring itself. I chose a size 13, which is the largest size available at the time of this review. Once you choose your size you simply log back into your account and place your order. My ring arrived in just under a week. The packaging is rather minimal - the ring, charging dock and cable, and standard issue paperwork. I downloaded the iOS app on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and used the easy to follow guide to pair and setup my ring. My Oura had a charge of 90% on arrival. I did not add any additional charge, and placed the ring on my finger to begin use. This was a Wednesday at 6:00pm. On Saturday at 1:00pm I had 37% remaining. I placed the ring on the charging puck, which is well designed and minimalistic in design. It aligns the ring in the proper position each time and has a light to indicate charging status. The Oura was placed on the charger at 1:00pm with 37% and reached 100% at 2:10pm. Battery life and charging speeds have been excellent. The iOS app is great. You can see the ring and battery status, and after some use you can view fitness and sleep activity. It will also prompt you around bedtime and provides great information about your sleep habits and quality. I use Apple Health with my iPhone and the Apple Watch Ultra. Comparing information between those devices and the Oura Ring Gen 3 showed very similar results. Nothing so far off that it made me wonder which is most accurate. I view my Oura Ring as a great companion to my overall health monitoring, but not a replacement for my iPhone / Apple Watch Ultra combo. I can see this as a great option for those who do not have a smart watch, or those who do but need to charge their watch overnight. The Oura definitely has its place. Heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep patterns and quality, it just all seems to work well and be accurate. The Oura Ring is very comfortable to wear for days on end. I never felt uncomfortable or any chaffing, even when sweating. When exercising, specifically with free weights, I did notice the ring was a bit cumbersome and wanted to clink up to the handles. However, this is really going to be with any ring, not a fault of Oura. Otherwise, this is very comfortable and you just sort of forget you’re wearing it. Durability is fair. Now I never had any fear of the ring breaking. It really is solid and well made. However, after having used the Oura Ring for about three weeks there are definitely noticeable scratches, albeit mild. It is still a beautiful and simplistic ring, but you can notice if you’re looking. I used this in water, showering, cooking, dishes, you name it. Definitely no water damage and easily wipes clean when dirty. I was given 30 days of the premium app features, but then there is a subscription to keep those features. The base free features are quite minimal, and to use the features that make this ring worth owning, you will need the subscription, so keep this in mind. Overall I have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with the Oura Ring Gen 3. Minus the minimal visible wear indications, and the lack of features on the unpaid plan, this is a great ring.

Stay informed about your health!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am absolutely in love with the new Gen3 Oura ring for the style, my health, and overall physical awareness. After completing sizing, I ended up getting the silver ring which has a smooth clean looking polished finish to wear on my non dominant pointer finger. There are a few sensors in the ring measuring different statistics to give you a daily health "readiness" for the day. It supposedly takes 2 weeks to learn your behaviors to give you the most accurate picture as to who you are and your motivations such as "improve my health", "improve athletic performance", "manage stress", "develop learning skills and creativity, be more present and focused, and my focus area is "be productive and energetic". Your profile has your body metrics like height/weight, date of birth, current sleep patterns and more. Another great thing, the battery lasts almost a week in this tiny ring without ever charging. That being said, I usually chuck it on the charger while I shower and it's full by the time I'm done so I don't miss any real activity with the watch on the charger. Once you're up and running, you'll never ask yourself why you feel tired ever again. Take for instance last night. I slept a total of 5.5 hours which was not enough based on my activity level from the day before. The Oura ring tracks your sleep cycles in a beta format, your overnight oxygen saturation which is great for those snorers or those at risk for sleep apnea, and other factors that contribute to your sleep scores such as how long it took to fall asleep, total sleep, and resting heart rate. When you wake up, too early this morning in my case, when you open the app your ring will sync and you'll have your sleep score, readiness for the day score with activity recommendations and the ideal time to go to bed. I would say it is super accurate in predicting how tired or energetic I will feel based on my stats and I am able to look at trends and last nights sleep to see where I screwed up my readiness for the day! This works because it makes you aware of your day to day health and sleep because you can't fix a problem you don't know exists. Lastly are exercises that range from breathing work and meditation, sleep suggestions/stories, and more learning content such as "how dreaming can help regulate emotions". Also helpful are notifications reminding me to stretch my legs sent to my phone. How they squeezed all of this tech into a normal size ring is absolutely amazing. I can confidently recommend this to anyone who wants to be more aware of their day to day health and wanting to feel their best. It is convenient, stylish, a great compliment to my other health wearables, and I feel more aware of what is going on with me and how I am feeling and that feels good. Thanks Oura!

Fantastic tracker! Get one.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oura ring and accompanying app are incredible for anyone who wants to really get a handle on their daily fitness and sleep habits. First, the ring itself is very nice looking, comfortable to wear, and seems very durable. Even after wearing for several days in a somewhat harsh work environment, it shows absolutely zero scratches. Hopefully, it will maintain its appearance for quite some time. After an initial charge and the obligatory firmware update, the ring paired quickly and easily to the app. Although there is obviously a lot of tech crammed into this ring, the app is where the Oura really shines. The amount of data is absolutely incredible. Aside from the standard step counts and calorie burn information, there is a ton of information to drill down into about your daily movements. And for sleep it breaks down everything from light to REM and even lets you look at the accompanying heartrate and blood oxygen level information. With the Sleep, Readiness, and Activity scores, the app gives you some hints on how to improve each one and you can see if small changes each day make a difference in each. I can’t say enough about the depth and breadth of information the Oura ring collects and tracks and how helpful it can be in improving your daily life. If you are looking for a high quality and nearly invisible tracker, the Oura ring is definitely for you!
