Great addition to health journey. Monitors sleep well without irritation of watch. It also monitors steps and heart rate accurately. The app is easy to use. Very pleased.

Great substitute for a smart watch

The Oura ring does everything that I was looking for in a small compact form. I am not able to wear watch at work and the Oura allows me to track my steps and my sleep without the worry of taking a watch on and off while working.

Always wanted to track my health but didn’t love a wrist option. This does all the things just wearing a ring. I was disappointed in the color, it was more of a dark charcoal grey versus black, but I got used to it.

This ring was purchased to help me better understand my sleeping habits. So far I like it but it’s taking a while to really get great data.

    Oura Ring Review

I debated getting the oura ring for quite sometime but finally made the decision to go for it and I don’t regret it one bit. I love how in depth it goes into your health and provides information on how to improve areas that may not be showing as good as others. You do get a free trial but once that is up, you will have to pay $5.99 a month which I think is definitely worth it. Highly recommend going into store and using the ring sizer as I had to go up 2 sizes from my typical size.

Love the Oura ring to track my health and Best Buy was great to work with. I just wish Oura offered half sizes for a better fit.

    Don’t buy the gold tone

I purchased the gold ring thinking since the price is higher the esthetic would look good and last longer. In less than a year the gold tone faded. I contacted Oura and had a bogus response. I like the functions of the ring. But don’t spend the money on the gold ring is not worth it. It will fade . My ring looks faded and cheap!!! That’s the only complaint I have about the ring.

I like the ring and all the information I get from it. I don't like the 5.99 subscription. I also don't like that it doesn't let you know that the battery is dying. You have to go to the app and look.

Piece of over priced tech. Why buy this product when you can get a Fitbit Luxe for 1/3 the price. Luxe does everything the Oura ring does and more. Luxe sensors are better, Fitbit app is better and Luxe does not require you to wear it on your index finger. Oura ring will only work properly when worn on index finger. Oura ring also doesn't track work outs automatically like almost every other health tracking device? Poor. Oura is for you if you like paying more for less.

The Oura ring is a great idea, I'm honestly surprised that I hadn't heard about this product until it was on "generation 3". The ring sizing process is slick and easy, you receive Oura's sizing kit and then confirm your size and they send you your ring. Of the available options I chose one without an obvious bump or flat spot indicating the top of the ring. This may have been a mistake, as I'll mention, the ring spins a little too easily. This ring is lower profile than a watch, yes, but as a ring it's quite chunky. The design and materials still leave it feeling comfortable and low profile-ish on your finger, but you can tell it's not standard jewelry. I'm not sure how they managed to cram most of the sensors from a smart watch into such a small form factor, but it IS compelling. This makes it possible to track your health metrics without having your wrist under the oppression of the great fruit. There is a tiny dimple indicating which side should be worn towards the palm, and due to the slim and smooth nature of the inside and outside of the ring, I found it spun around on it's own often. While they recommend it be worn with the dimple down, it did still seem to collect data when it was in the wrong place, especially at night, but I wonder about the accuracy during those times. I'm getting around 3 days of battery life out of the ring, and discovered that disabling the O2 sensor drastically extends the time between charges. This is kind of a bummer, and I wish it was a little more regular/went longer, but it is what it is. When I initially received the ring I had to go through a repeated cycle of firmware updates to enable the O2 tracking, and it took 5 times for it to succeed. The app is easy enough to use and get connected, and most things want the ring to be on the charging dock to pair/update/etc. the charging dock IS directional, with a small slot for the sensors to fit into. More than once I've found the ring crammed back onto the dock after someone wanted to peek at it, and that's problematic as well. Lastly, I'm never a fan of subscription models, and I'm still trying to determine if the ring will even report any data when the trial runs out. I hate this with a passion, and it's responsible for most of the poor rating here. Oura says that I should still be able to see my scores, and I believe it will continue passing data to the apple health app, but this is still not ideal at the cost of of a Hulu membership every month, in addition to the somewhat high cost of the hardware. At the price of a smart watch, but with only the health tracking benefits, I'm torn between loving the form factor, and wondering if Oura is sustainable with their subscription model, assuming that means they're not covering their costs.

I love my ring! I think it does a great job tracking my cycle and my sleep, but it could do a better job tracking physical activity and step count.

    Buyer Beware

Very disappointed with this ring. Pros are it's light, looks good (at first), has some good features and integrations with other fitness apps. Cons are that it's an expensive investment up front and you have to pay the subscription for any value so you are locked in. The ring will get chipped and scratched. You can't wear it to the gym and use free weights or some machines unless you wear gloves or you will shred the thing in no time. (I have owned my matt black ring for 18 months and it's pretty scratched up already, even not wearing it to the gym...) There are so many things that can go wrong with providing accurate sleep data that I maybe get a reading 50% of the time. Look that up yourself to see all the things that can cause sleep data reading errors. And not much you can do about some of them. I don't mind this part, but there are a lot of people that complain about how bright the green LEDs can be at night when you are sleeping. Another thing to be aware of if you are a sensitive sleeper. Lastly, the battery life is terrible. After they turned on all the features of the Gen3 ring, it now maybe gets 24hrs of battery life. So you need to be very disciplined with your charging patterns or you'll constantly miss data. It's a great concept for a light footprint wearable, but expensive for what you get and seems like the tech is just not quite there yet.
