Buy it for the sleep tracking
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buy it for the sleep tracking, any of the additional data like exercise or heart rate info throughout the day is nice. But bar-none there is nothing more comfortable to just leave on & forget and sleep with. The most important thing that I see most people getting completely wrong is the sizing. It does stink that they don't have half sizes, and it does seem like their research & software is focused first on the index finger rather than any other finger. I assume data quality might be slightly lower, but I wear mine on my middle finger for comfort and style. You need to have the size so that it doesn't wiggle around your skin, and stay comfortably in contact with your skin through day & night. It seems like most people buy a size too large. As for everyone complaining about having to pay a subscription, there is no competition to this ring. There are others "coming soon" but nothing actually on the market, and lets not forget the other health trackers also have paid subscriptions. It isn't free to store, process, analyze, & provide insights on your data. So I don't know why the expectation is those features should be free. If you are buying this ring anyways, you are not a frugal person & you are on the bleeding edge of technology with deep pockets. There isn't much of a ledge for you to stand on & complain about a $6 a month charge... It is a technological mindboggling device for its form factor & I think that is the most underrated & reported on aspect of the product. It's a ring, that you couldn't tell is a smart ring as a bystander. This is next generation hardware, if you are willing to pay the upfront price for it then it is absolutely worth it. And as a last note for people who may be concerned about battery life or overall lifespan of the ring. Stop trying to wear the ring for a week straight without charging it. We are talking about basic physics here & battery technology. Maintain the battery health by keeping the ring between 80%-30% & charge for 5-10 minutes a day and it will last much longer. If you really want a device with a battery that could last much longer without daily charging, then you would need to wait for new battery technology or pay a crazy amount of money for a device with upgraded battery science. Just keep it juiced up & follow their instructions for long term storage. This ring has helped me track when I go to bed & when I wake up. I don't really focus on "sleep stages", and I really only care about improving consistency & time in bed. Which is what this ring can help you achieve those goals the most by using it. My only wish is that they had designed a universal charger that expanded or contracted based on ring sizes, so people could share chargers & buy replacement chargers easier. Or even make it compatible with any wireless charger. But that is a minor gripe in comparison to what is literally the future of wearable health trackers

Excellent for sleep tracking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the smallest and easiest to put on of all the fitness and sleep trackers on the market. It is excellent to track workouts and sleep. The ring is charged by sliding it on top of its charger stand. I am satisfied with the duration of the battery life, lasting 4-5 days. The ring software gives me an overall status and readiness for the day. The Readiness feature gives you the resting heart rate, variability, respiratory rate, average blood oxygen, body temperature, and sleep score. Sleep can tell you how long you are in bed, the sleep efficiency, and the stages (REM, Light, and Deep sleep). The main reason for the Oura ring is to understand my sleep, improve my lifestyle behaviors, and how changes in my life impact my overall sleep quality. My sleep quality has improved after using the ring, and has resulted in a more energized and productive day. Along with other lifestyle habits, mindfulness, exercise, and healthy eating, the ring improves my quality of life. Overall, I am satisfied with the Oura ring.

Accurate and varied health data, Comfortable fit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven’t used a smart wearable health tracker in a while, and the Oura Ring gen 3 is the first I’ve tried that isn’t worn on the wrist like a watch or bracelet. I like that it is small, lightweight, and discrete and looks like a normal ring. It comes in a few different color choices and styles, and I got the Horizon silver, but they all share the same technology. Along the inside are three raised bumps where different sensors are located to measure things like body temperature, blood oxygen levels, heartbeat, etc. Oura's ring sizes are slightly different than typical US ring sizes and half sizes are not offered, so you’ll need to either get your measurement done in-store, which is available at most Best Buy locations, or use the free sizing kit that is included with an online purchase of any ring. I received the sizing kit by mail, and once I’d found my fit, updated my order online. Note that Oura rings cannot be re-sized due to the electrical components inside and come with a size-specific wireless charger. However, one exchange is permitted within the first 30 days. When I received the ring, I was surprised at how light it was. While the outer “shell” of the ring is a shiny titanium, the inner molding is plastic. The ring has a thickness of under 3mm and weighs only a few grams, though despite that feels very durable. The exterior of the Horizon is completely smooth and uniform except for a small, matte dimple opposite the sensors. This divot should always be placed on the palm side of your finger to help you position the ring’s sensors for accurate measurements. The ring connects to your phone via BLE (Bluetooth Low-Energy) to transmit tracked data and has a battery life of up to 7 days. I like that the ring is completely sealed so that it’s water-resistant to up to 100m (328ft) deep; you don’t have to worry about it getting wet when showering, swimming, or even diving. The charging base is also compact with a 1.75” diameter and connects to power via a USB-C cable. The ring only sits in the charger in a specific orientation with its groove aligned with the ring’s sensors. Charging it can take anywhere from 10-80 minutes which I tend to do every few days, since for proper sleep tracking it’ll need to have a charge of at least 30%. The Oura app is the star of the show though, as a tracker is only as useful as the quality of the data that it records. Each day you’ll receive 3 scores in the app for Readiness, Sleep, and Activity Goal. With the monthly Oura membership (only available for Gen 3 rings), you’ll be able to deep dive into the data via the app and view a breakdown of each of your score’s components like REM vs Deep sleep durations, daily graphs of heart rate, sleep stages, movement, and 24/7 heart rate tracking. The app provides insights into your scores and gives you summaries and suggestions based on your results. If you’ve done well in your scores (85 or above) you’ll see a little crown for the achievement. The navigation within the app took me a little bit of getting used to, as you must swipe the dates at the top of the screen (not the middle of the screen) to move forward and back in time, and tapping on the date stripe brings up the calendar picker. There is a lot of data and jargon used in the app, but you can bring up little notes about what each of the metrics mean and how to interpret your results. Membership also gives you access to additional features like period tracking, expanded third-party app integration, and detailed sleep analysis. Without a membership, however, you’ll be limited to viewing your three scores, the ring's battery life/settings, and only Apple Health and Google Fit integrations. You’ll also still have access to the ‘explore’ tab in the app which provides self-guided sessions for meditation, breathing exercises, and sleep/relaxation. Regardless, all your personal data will still be available for download through your web account’s dashboard, but you’ll need to figure out how to organize, visualize, and interpret it on your own. I wasn’t sure how I would like sleeping with jewelry on, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I did notice that at night, you can see the red and green lights of the sensors when they take measurements, though I did not find this bothersome. I find that wearing a ring is a little bit easier than wearing a wristband or watch to sleep, and the data in the app lines up with what I feel I experience throughout the day, from activity levels, to movement and stress tracking, so I’m pretty confident that the data captured is accurate. While the ring materials are quite durable, the palm side will eventually pickup up micro-scratches, just from normal use and coming into contact with hard surfaces, so if possible, it’s recommended to wear it on your non-dominant hand to reduce the wear. Overall, as a fitness tracker, I really like the Oura’s size, comfort, and range of data it captures. I feel that the measurements are accurate, and the analysis of the data and how it’s presented in the app is insightful and helpful in letting me know where I stand on these metrics. My hope is that this information will help me plan and adapt my routines towards better habits to improve health and wellness over time.

It works and provides the info I wanted.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ring overall works well along with the Oura app. I bought it as a way to track my sleep and see where I needed to make adjustments and it helped right away. I was surprised to see that I wasn’t getting as much sleep as I thought. The app requires a monthly subscription in order to use the gestures of the ring. It is a little thicker than I though but is comfortable to wear. I am not to happy with the finish of the ring. The I side of the ring does scratch super easily and tarnish redhead quickly. I would suggest buying the insurance. The set up process was super easy, I charged the ring, opened the app, registered and set up the payment option. The payment set up comes in the form of an email letting you know that the one month trial will be running out and to click the link to set up your payment option. I do not get a week of charge but maybe 5-6 days which isn’t to bad. I wear the ring all day, but take it off to shower. You are able to wear it in the shower but I don’t see the point. Overall it is working for the purpose I purchased it for, I do sometimes wonder if I will continue to use it, I would at it should be a lot cheaper than it is; to make it completely worth it. I do have buyers remorse at times do to the cost to material being a little off.

Great tool!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had my Oura 3 for a few weeks, it does everything as advertised. It took me a little time to learn everything about what it does, I’m older so this was on me, not the ring. I recommend getting the sizer to fit correctly, i got the wrong size the first time. I hate wearing things on both wrists at the same time and didn’t want another watch to wear so this has been perfect. It says it scatches easily, I wear mine with my other rings and no scratches yet. I believe the Oura 3 is the best built and all other comments about water and scratches are reviews from earlier versions. The app will tell you when to charge (7-8 days) and it is a quick charge compared to my iwatch. My doc loves seeing my O2 readings and activity reports, its ver accurate in data, I highly recommend the Oura 3.

Aesthetic fitness tracker for data lovers
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Gen3 gold ring for about a month now and I'm really enjoying all of the features. The ring is quite a bulky as far as rings go, but it doesn't bother me. I find it much more comfortable and better looking than any of the wrist fitness trackers. The amount of data that it provides is far more than anything I've seen so far and I really feel that it's providing useful insight. I'm also pregnant so it's been really helpful knowing when I can push myself a bit more and when I should rest.

Great health wearable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sleek look, unlike most health wearables. Sleep measurements are excellent and seem to be more accurate even than my Apple Watch; however, fitness measurements are more easily and accurately measured by other wearables. Still not certain how accurate “stress” measurements are (at times it will tell me i am stressed, when i do not physically or mentally/emotionally feel that i am) but have had for only a month, and may take time for better accuracy. Wish there did not have to be a subscription to fully utilize health data but at least the first month is free.

Oura Ring
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been wearing my Oura Ring for a month and have liked it. I like all of the insight I receive from it: sleep, activity and readiness. It is very comfortable to wear, which was a concern of mine. Since the ring has sensors and tracks sleep and activity, it does glow. I noticed a red glow while sleeping/waking and a green glow during activity. It holds a charge very well, I can go a full week without needing to charge, but put it on the charger while doing the dishes/cooking. There is a monthly subscription for the app.

Great info gatherer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Skeptical at first but loving the information I’m gathering daily! It definitely keeps me accountable with sleep, steps. Comfortable although a little thicker which makes hand shakes slightly uncomfortable, especially when the men feel the need to wrench my hand! It’s durable and easy to sleep in. I look forward to checking the app daily! I wish the rose gold was more durable but the reviews suggested otherwise so I purchased the gold. It’s a good piece of technology and beats a watch, IMHO.

Best Wearable Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oura is the best wearable fitness tracker. I had two smart watches before the Oura ring and I will never go back. The heart rate tracking, stress tracking and sleep tracking are more accurate than anybody else's. The insights it gives me are invaluable. I feel like I'm hooked up to all the machines they would hook a person up to in hospital room as well as having a personal trainer. All rolled into one comfortable to wear ring! It's charged lasts for days! When I got the ring out of the box, I put it on the charger so that it was fully charged before I started wearing it. Now, I just put it on the charger each time I take a shower and it's always charged by the time I get out. It could not be easier! Sadly, the Oura app only offers a few workouts - walking, indoor or outdoor running, indoor or outdoor cycling. However, when I feel like doing a HIIT routine, I choose indoor running. They're comparable tracking wise. The fact that Oura is so well designed and work so well is not at all surprising when you look into the company. They started, and are based, in Finland. One of the happiest countries in the world. Oura Ring was developed with the idea of helping everybody have a balanced life by helping them better understand their bodies. Rather than being developed by a tech company to be compatible with a cell phone in a capitalist country...yeah.

Good health monitoring tool that you can wear dail
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this ring for awhile and I wear it day and light. The monitoring functions and review capabilities are amazing while it helps me to manage my health and stress. It is pretty accurate and I love the App which is simple to use and easy to understand. Wish they have more health monitoring capability like blood pressure and oxygen level without relying on outside App. And battery life tends to deteriorate overtime.

Great ring
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing purchase . So worth it , a lot of people are back and forth on this but honesty glad I took the chance. It tracks my steps, my active calorie and resting. And the sleep feature is amazing. The fit is great definitely size up probably if you have to. The only reason I am giving it four stars is because with paying so much for the ring I hoped that it was a little more scratch resistant. I have had it now for four days and there are already visible marks. I do work out so maybe if you don’t it will be great but still for the price that is definitely something I wish they would do better on. But still an amazing purchase and would convince you to get one.

Expensive for not much benefit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who’s had the Oura Ring for exactly a month, I’m kind of regretting my purchase. I had high hopes and liked the idea of this device but in practice, so far, I’ve been pretty disappointed. It’s a cool idea but it’s pricey and a bit boring. First I’ll focus on the positives: the ring is very sleek and the packaging is minimal but elegant. The charger is slim. The app is easy to use and the battery life is easy to monitor inside the app. As for in use, I purchased the Oura Ring because I’ve been very focused on my sleep and I wanted a way to measure how I was doing so I knew what areas to improve. In regards to that aspect specifically, the Oura Ring is pretty good. I enjoy seeing each night’s information which includes things like how much time was spent awake, REM, light, or deep, average HRV, heart rate, and things like latency, restfulness, total sleep, and more. It tells me when my ideal bedtime is approaching, which helps keep me on track. I like this. I also like how it's a ring instead of a watch. Now, the negatives… There’s much more of them than the positives. The sizing is not the most inclusive. It’s not cute; I wear a size 6 (probably could have gone with a 5.5 if that existed, but it doesn’t) and it looks pretty clunky on my hand. It’s also uncomfortable as it presses against the neighboring finger due to its thickness. Additionally, the ring is not cheap. Certain colors and the style only adds to the price. Not only does it have a high upfront cost, the subscription model is hard to swallow. You get a free 30 day trial which is nice but the ring really needs to learn over time and gather information before it can make some of the touted beneficial recommendations. Due to this, it sort of feels like just waiting for something to happen in the beginning. You can look at some immediate things but without more to compare it to, you don’t really know you’re doing. This for me is frustrating and you don’t get a good idea of how it truly functions with more data. Another huge negative for me is that while it gives you all this information, it doesn’t really do much with it. You’re left to do research on your own about how to improve things and look into reasoning about why your scores are what they are. And once you’ve seen a general theme to your information, there’s not much more you can do with it, so it becomes a bit everyday and the excitement wears off. It doesn’t really feel like you’re paying for any beneficial subscription because it just gathers your data and then… doesn’t do much with it. The information it does happen to include is very repetitive and it tends to say the same things every day without anything new. On top of this, I can’t get the blood oxygen sensing to work. I’ve tried it multiple times on my larger finger (making the ring much tighter) to see if that can make the blood oxygen sensor work but it never does. I ended up just turning off this feature because I’ve read it drastically reduces battery life. Another worthless (to me) feature is the activity and readiness tabs. The information it gathers is basic and it’s a bit finicky, it doesn’t always sense when I’m doing something and I feel I would be better served with a dedicated fitness / smart watch. I don’t even have much to say about these two tabs as now I pretty much ignore the readiness and the activity. These things combined add another layer of disappointment to the data as I feel I paid full price for something that doesn’t even fully work for me. This is definitely a luxury item. If it worked well and provided consistent, useful data and specific recommendations or guidance, with a lower price and no subscription, I would be much happier with it. But as it is, with the high upfront cost combined with the subscription model and disappointing features, I really wish I had not bought this. It doesn’t do enough for me and while it’s nice as an alternative to a watch, it’s just not enough at the high price. I would not recommend this unless you want something very basic and you really want to wear a ring.

Great Under the Radar Tracker
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't like wearing electronics gadgets on hand. This is a great way for tracking your sleep and daily activities. I have an apple watch, but don't like it charging every day and also wearing it at night, also it doesn't go well with outfits and hate the distraction all the time with its tapping on notifications or anything else. I wore this for my first month and people hardly realized it was even a smart ring. So far very happy with and really like how it has so minimal intrusion. I took a star off, coz it is an expensive item to buy, but on top of that the subscription is also added cost if you need to know detailed analysis or your daily body condition, which is great btw, but wish the subscription price was lower
