Good look, comfortable feel, interesting diagnostic feedback

Great ring! I’m glad it was HSA eligible. Made justifying to buy a smart ring a bit easier. The reason I only give it 3 stars is because of the battery life. I have had this for about a month and noticed a decrease in battery life! After extensive research, I saw others had battery life decrease to having to charge it once a day after a year of use. I see it heading that way too.

A great health tracker. Gives lots of insight into your sleep, stress, and activity. Not really for those looking for fitness tracking.

I love my ring. I would recommend I like it way better than my I watch.

I love the ring so much. It wont fix your sleep problems but it will give you amazing insights into your sleep and the factors that influence it and change it on a daily basis.

While this little ring is an absolute marvel for the size, I would NOT recommend purchasing the Ouro ring. The data provided was not very accurate when compared to other devices I used (I certainly do not walk a 5+k on a daily basis) and confusing (zero step is equivalent to 1 mile). Additionally, the settings cannot be adjusted to your particular fitness/sleep needs and patterns. Finally, you are told that it take a least two weeks for the ring to get to know you and your activity patterns. But by that time, the ring cannot be returned if you find like I did that it really doesn't meet your needs. At this price, an Apple Watch or FitBit would be a much better investment, especially without having to pay a monthly subscription cost.

The Oura ring is an intriguing concept that I hadn’t originally put much thought into as an Apple Watch owner but it does have some distinct perks that make it worth considering. If you are a health enthusiast or want to know more about your sleep habits and activity levels but like me find that your watch battery life is insufficient to be able to properly gauge those things then the Oura ring is a great way to make that happen. When first starting with Oura, they will send you a sizing kit that will allow you to determine what size works best for you, and they recommend using index, middle or ring finger for the best results. After determine your size and reporting that back to them they will fulfill it and send you your ring. The kit is then yours to keep and share with others so they can get a ring that much faster if they choose to. Right out of the box it had about 50% charge, and includes a charging dock, usb c cable, and some documentation. Download the Oura app and being the setup process for pairing and updating firmware and then you’re ready to go. It was all very easy but does take some time because of the step involving getting that sizing kit first. I was very surprised by how lightweight the ring is, since it looks like a fairly standard silver ring I was expecting it to be heavier than it is. Inner size for proper fit is accurate but the outside diameter is larger due to the way it is constructed so that does get in the way a bit at times. The biggest concern during use is to make sure the 3 bulges in the inside of the ring are aligned properly on the inside of your hand and there’s a clever little indent on the outside of the ring to be able to see and feel where it’s located. Those bulges are the sensor arrays for reading heart rate, blood oxygen levels and body temperature. The sensors are seemingly very accurate in the two plus weeks I’ve had it so far, and it continuously tracks all those data points to produce several charts in the app. The Apple Watch has sleep tracking as well but my problem has always been two fold in being unable to really take advantage of it. Battery life is not good enough and concern over banging it up while sleeping. The ring addresses those problems and gives me very accurate sleep tracking information. I’m not sure what to do with the information but it is interesting to see exactly what goes on during my nights and how much deep and rem sleep I get. During my waking hours I am a delivery driver so it gets a lot of activity. The calorie burn rates differ quite a lot from what my Apple Watch reports to me and I’m not sure which one is more accurate. It could be that the ring has a more consistent read on my finger versus the Watch which may miss moments when it gets moved around making the ring the one that is closer to reality as those numbers are always higher. You can set the Oura app to be able to write your health information into the health app on iPhone, and then get that data from two different perspectives. Battery life is phenomenal, it takes about 5 days to get down to 30% charge at which point the app recommends charging to prevent it from being unable to track sleep properly. It takes around an hour to charge back up to 100% from there. So once I get that notice about battery life I drop it on the charger and get another notice an hour later letting me know it’s charged up again and I go another 5 days straight of use. It is well built, resilient to scratches unless you are in contact with other metal objects regularly, and fully water resistant so you can continue to wear it swimming, showering, washing hands, etc. without concern. Overall I am really impressed with this ring and enjoy its features. My biggest complaint is that for continuous access to all the various charts and readings you must subscribe to a monthly plan for $5.99 to get the full package. It includes a one month trial so I have not experienced what it will be like to lose those features yet but I can’t imagine I will find it nearly as useful if I let it lapse. Without that subscription you lose heart rate monitoring, daily sleep analysis, temperature trend monitoring, and personalized health insights leaving you with only very basic scores instead. So, if you want to invest in this ring you need to take that subscription into consideration. I feel like it may not be worth owning without the additional information the subscription provides and I am not convinced the cost is quite right. It has been very durable during my long and busy work days, has amazing battery life and provides a lot of interesting insight into my personal health trends, but comes with some cost requirements that give me pause. If you have a use case for it then I recommend it but it may not be for everyone.

Great and accurate tracking for exercise and calories on daily bases

Product is great but the company has terrible business practices. They released a firmware update a few months ago (3.1.1) and it greatly shortened the battery life from a few days to half a day at most. The company is saying they’ll send a refurbished one and they’ll “try” to ensure it’s the same size and color/material.
