This product does what it's functions well so far. The only way to really know if it works is to have the forbidden happen.. Looks good if nothing else.

I have an older Monster Box that has never let me down. During Hurricane Sandy, various tropical storms and blizzards - it has never shut down unless it needed to. In fact, I alerted my local power authority when I was getting high voltage. Turned out my transformer needed to be replaced. I needed more outlets and finding that Best Buy no longer carried the Monster Box (or that they make them anymore?) - they recommended the Panamax. It was rather expensive, but I went ahead and purchased it. I got it on time, set it all up and thought my entertainment system would be protected. Nope. Everyday, multiple times a day, it would restart itself. There was no voltage concern, no surges that I knew of (my CPU Battery Backup didn't trip) but this unit kept shutting off. I'd be in the middle of a video game on my new XBOX One X and bam shuts off. I had to return it. I might have gotten a defective unit. I did a large amount of research on these, but I am really not sure I will trust this company again. I'd rather look into getting a used Monster Box.

Unit could also be designed to hold block size plugs.

I purchased this one to replace my older panamax on recommendation for sound quality improvement, but did not notice any difference, so I returned it. I am giving it two stars though because I am sure it is great as a surge protector.....panamax is excellent for that

I have been wanting to buy this unit. Not only it serves the purpose, the reviews are AWESOME in any web site you check. The best part of it is the deal I got for this unit. I agree with previous comment, I noticed a big difference in the picture quality for my SONY 75 inch 4K UHD TV. Sound is crisp and I like the intrsumentation panel. I hooked up my Denon amplifier, BOSE system, Xbox One. This is the ultimate protection for your high end investment. Highly Recommended.

Device makes loud humming noise which in intolerable. Plan to return . I had another older Panamax model was doing the same thing that is why I had bought this one. DO NOT BUY Panamax devices

When I was shopping at Best Buy a sales associate explained the differences very well using a noise detector, which lets you hear electrical distortion. He let me use the detector just so I knew there was no funny business and I tried it on just a standard surge protector and it let out a static like sound. Then I moved to a monster surge protector, which was an improvement but I still go some of that static. From there I tried some other surge protectors and a couple monster power conditioners until I got to this Panamax and realized absolute silence coming from the device. He then showed me the difference on a tv and you could tell without the panamax the picture seemed somewhat grainy, and then after he hooked it up to the panamax the picture looked much more fluid. Another great thing is that this is one piece of technology you won't have to update and it has a lifetime warranty.

The power outlet is a very good filter and protector Por everything and I like how it works...

I researched several Power Conditioners prior to making the choice on this one. First off, Best Buy has all of these and unless you are an authorized retailer of Panamax, they will not honor their warranty protection of your home theater. Amazon however is not an authorized seller and sells through third parties which does not qualify for the extended protection. It costs a bit more through Best Buy but at least you know you are purchasing from an authorized dealer. The unit is quite large and resembles a stereo amplifier and can blend in nicely to any home theater set up. If you are expecting detailed directions of how to set this up, there are none, but the putlets on this are labeled pretty well and all it takes is to plug it into a wall outlet and start plugging in your components. What you will notice, the front of this until has two round windows displaying amps and actually is reading power coming in. Plus you can run your audio system through the high voltage outlets and it separates the sound so as not to interrupt your other systems from speaker distortion etc. I compared this to the Monster units and there is no comparison. Monster makes fine power strips, but for my new Sony 4K TV, I would not trust a measly Monster power strip to protect something this valuable. Once plugged into this unit, it takes over and manages your power intake and protects your systems and is always on monitoring. This unit is a bit pricey but I would not expect anything less to protect my high end equipment.

I love this power conditioner! I know it's more than what I need but I had to have it. I actually tested several and I saw a difference. I have a 65" panasonic V10 series plasma, Definitive Technology 7.1 sound system, Harman Kardon receiver (which will soon be replaced by a pioneer elite), an XBOX 360, Panasonic Blu Ray, HD Cable box, Harmon Kardon cd player, and more...and it does the job protecting all these components. I didn't see a huge difference in the picture when there's movement, but you definitely see it on still shots. I love the USB port in the front which I use to charge our ipods and mp3 players, and the extra outlet to hook up my laptop. it has plenty of outlets which worked well for us.

I'm new to Panamax, was always a Monster product user, since they no longer make surge protectors like this I went with the recommendation of the Best Buy employee who sold me all the equipment I was buying at the time. I love the fact I can see both voltage and current from the equipment that is plugged in to this unit. It fit very well into the TV stand I bought and allowed me to plug in all the equipment I have, and every plug is used on it. I have a feeling this specific unit will protect all my items very well. No regrets spending a little more to ensure my stuff is protected.
