    Gets the job done!

I'm new to Panamax, was always a Monster product user, since they no longer make surge protectors like this I went with the recommendation of the Best Buy employee who sold me all the equipment I was buying at the time. I love the fact I can see both voltage and current from the equipment that is plugged in to this unit. It fit very well into the TV stand I bought and allowed me to plug in all the equipment I have, and every plug is used on it. I have a feeling this specific unit will protect all my items very well. No regrets spending a little more to ensure my stuff is protected.

    Excellent Power Conditioner

I bought this to go along with my 67" Samsung LED DLP and the 6 other components I have connected. I have been able to notice a difference when items such as a hair dryer or vacuum are turned on. There is little interference if any at all with my audio and picture quality. Also, it gives me peace of mind that all of my components and TV are protected in the event of a power spike. The lights in the front do turn off which is nice because it does not distract from the monitor which is the main focal point. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Excellent Surge Suppressor, Looks Great, too!

I have had a Panamax surge suppressor for about 12 years, but thought an upgrade was in order since I've recently upgraded most of my system. I have purchased a Samsung LCD TV, Denon receiver, Definitive Technology speakers, a PS3 and new CD player in the last 12 months (yeah, my wife is tickled!) and thought it wise to protect my investment with a newer generation suppressor from Panamax - essentially a great insurance policy. It works great, looks cool and does what it is supposed to. I've had friends who have suffered lightening strikes and lost valuable equipment as a result. Since I live in Florida and lightening strikes are common, getting a surge suppressor is just plain common sense. By the way, I'm way over my love affair with Monstor products and their hype. When I compared their suppressors with Panamax the Panamax won hands down. If you're looking for a quality suppressor, look no further!

I had a Panamax 4300 and replaced it with a 5300. I repurposed the 4300 to another system. The 4300 is good but the 5300 is certainly better. My LG OLED has darker backgrounds, better saturated colors and it is cleaner and clearer. The audio system is clearer in the midrange. I like everything about the 5300 other than I wish there was more control of the brightness of the lights. I am getting used to it. GREAT PRODUCT!

    Outstanding Quality

This device has given me the peace of mind about any or all power surge issues and the outstanding quality it will give your HDTV. The change from a cheaper radioshack power surge protecter to this has made my HDTV look like it is supposed to look and my Pioneer surround sound like it is supposed to. There is no more grain on my screen and no hissing from speakers. Yes it is expensive, but if you have at least $3-$4k invested in your home theatre system then you should protect it and get the best quality possible out of it. Let your systems reach their potential

This is a must have for anyone who has a Home theatre setup or highend equipment .. Did quite a bit of research and found this model is perfect for me. If you have a nice HDTV and/or highend equipment. Then this is a no brainer.. Think of it as extra insurance as this comes with extra protection guarantee from Panamax for all your equipment. I have Martin Logan speakers.(Theos , Stage center, dynamo 1000 sub and electromotion for the rear) pioneer elite SC-27, motiva amp, Oppo and ps3 and Vt30 65.. This handles it all

The Panamax 5300 is a great product. When I got it out of the box it felt really solid, I knew right away I had purchased something of high quality. I plugged to it my tv , bose v20, blue ray, cable box, ps3 and xbox 360. I noticed the tv looked a bit sharper with less noise when watching cable. The front lights are able to dim but not completely turn off. The front outlet is very handy, I charge my ipad and iphone on it.

Seriously? Don't even bother questioning this unit over any other power center and line conditioner. This is for the new enthusiast or veteran audiophile. It contains a usb and Ethernet connection for gamers. It also has multiple light settings within its led display for brightness. A true 500 usd value. The blue display looks sexy and totally cleans up all video and audio noise. Great value. I strongly suggest this unit. 498

This machine gets the job done. It is very easy to setup and get going. It looks nice along with the rest of the equipment and does not look like a surge protector. The picture and the sound are a little better as well. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a home theater system.

BEST PROTECTION FOR ALL A/V ELECTRONICS

I HAVE A SEVEN YEAR OLD TOSHIBA DLP HDTV. THE LAMP USUALLY LASTS ABOUT THIRTY MONTHS AT $300.00 PER LAMP, SINCE I HAVE EVERYTHING RUNNING THROUGH THE PANAMAX, MY LAMP HAS LASTED WAY BEYOND THE USUAL LIMIT. THE PICTURE IS AS CLEAR AND BRIGHT AS WHEN IT WAS NEW. NOW IT'S LIKE A MARATHON TO SEE HOW LONG THE LAMP WILL LAST. FYI, I ALWAYS KEEP A SPARE LAMP THAT I CAN REPLACE IN TEN MINUTES ON HAND, THEN I WON'T BE WITHOUT A HDTV FOR 7 TO 14 DAYS WHILE WAITING TO GET A NEW LAMP DELIVERED.

Brought this unit 4 years ago, my home was hit with some type of surge the unit protected my big screen, blu ray player, a/v unit, cd changer and sat. receiver. Called the manufacture in CA a new one is on the way at a much reduce cost.

I'm a musician, keyboard/bass player and former Mastering engineer. I recently purchased very high end and $$$ AccuGroove twin 212L powered cabinets. I have, in my setup, a couple of keyboards, a bass and a small mixer. I had a LOT of hiss, amp buzz and grounding issues. I am very glad I discussed my need for substantial surge issues with the salesman. My main reason for recommending this product; It truly, has eliminated ALL noise issues. The second: it has the feature to sequence power ons and power offs, meaning turning on a first set of outlet banks you plug your gear into before a second set, turning off in reverse. No more potential thumps or possibly damaging spikes. I too, hesitated a bit at the price tag, but it was worth every penny. Elimination of noise? Fantastic. Sequenced outlet bank on/offs? Makes sure my investment in a professional performance rig is noise free, and protected from power glitches/outages.

Wanted some solid protection for my home theater setup (i.e. Yamaha receiver, Samsung Blue-ray, Panasonic VT-50, and Definitive TechnologyMythos STs). Very happy with the build quality and protection offered with this Panamax protector. It is easily able to handle the power requirements of my setup. And the aesthetics are nice as well, with the adjustable blue lighting.

    Great power conditioner

I originally bought this power conditioner to attempt to eliminate a loud buzz in a Samsung plasma tv. It didn't fix the buzzing issue, but I liked how this power conditioner looked in my media cabinet and that it had enough outlets for all my devices, so I kept it. I was overdue for a high quality power conditioner/surge protector for the thousands of dollars of equipment running through it. I did notice one improvement right away. I used to get a popping sound in my powered subwoofer when I would turn on/off the ceiling fan on the same circuit. This power conditioner has eliminated that. My only regret is that I didn't buy a Panamax model with a battery back-up. I have a separate UPS just for my Tivo to keep it from cycling power in brief power outages. Would be nice to have everything on one power unit.

Picked up one of these on sake to replace an aging Monster Power center and it does the job. I don't see any picture/audio improvement but I didn't expect too. Looks great in my AV rack and offers more than enough outlets. I only wish they would give you examples of the gear that are meant to plug into each outlet as they perform different functions. Fortunately, my local Magnolia rep drew out a diagram with the devices I provided him.

Pioneer sc37 would shut down on rocket blasts(as in Star Trek) or gun shots (as in The Town). After installing the Panamax unit that never happened again.

This was a great addition to my home theater. Nice cost to benefit ratio for a midrange system. Decent spacing in the back, and dimming front lights were well appreciated.

Although I wanted the 5400, I took the 5300 because of the lack of availability of the 5400. It still gets 5 stars because it works like a charm, and has really improved the performance of my blu-ray system. A definete recommendation to ANYONE who has an expensive system and wants to keep it safe. With this you really can see and hear the difference it makes in your electronics.

    Up In Smoke

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this unit to help protect a number of vintage audio units that I had restored. The last being a Mitsubishi X-10 upright vertical record player. I spent over three years with a soldering iron and a magnifying glass, not to mention sourcing parts... to see it was completed. I plugged it in to this unit, and was still in the testing phase when all heck broke loose. I’d been doing some work on it, and had left to go to the store for some parts, only to come back and there was smoke everywhere. It was the X-10. The tv next to it was plugged into a surge protector from dollar general, and it survived fine. The only other item in the house that had been plugged into a wall outlet at the time was a microwave in he kitchen, and it too had taken some kind of a surge. I still have the microwave, and it will only heat items 1 minute at a time now. A few months later, after a storm, I discovered from the power company that the power line from the street to my home was actually perforated in someway, it needed to be replaced. But that was before I spent hundreds on this unit, and thousands upgrading my home electrical system for no reason. In any event, this unit did absolutely nothing to protect that X-10 from the surge that Destroyed it and three years of labor. While I don’t see this as likely being a common problem....I certainly can’t give it any higher than two stars. And only then because it looks pretty cool
