Protection beyond a normal surge protector

I live in an older house where the power isn't always clean, even voltage and products like this are protecting most of my equipment.

I think the Rocketfish one would have done the job. I like the direction of the plugs. If they are turned 90 degrees from this orientation, bigger plugs can be a problem by covering up neighboring outlets. It can still happen with this one, but less than the other style.
