I use an Arc 3 shaver and made a jump to the Arc 5 for my son who has a heavy beard. So far, the Arc 5 seems to outperform the Arc 3. We tried other shavers in the $50 - $100 range and didn’t have much luck. The particular shavers we bought either failed or just weren’t up to the task. The Arc 5 seems to be well-built and convenient to clean. The last shaver we tried came with an optional soap vessel that you submerged the shaver in while charging it…too much counter space lost on that deal. The Arc 5 is a wet/dry shaver that you simply hold under running water to clean…very handy. I might invest in another one if my Arc 3 ever gives out.

Overall this is a nice electric shaver. Not as close as a blade, but probably about as good as an electric can get. I still prefer a blade and use an electric when I don't really need a close shave. This one is as easy to clean as my older one. The head is easy to pop off and rinse. My older Panasonic had a stand that also charged the shaver. This shaver has a plug-in cord and so is not as convenient. It also takes up more room on the counter because it lays down. Minus one star for those two items!

This shaver is awesome! It shaves closer than any other power razor I’ve owned! The B and N brands don’t come close. There is a slight vibration but on the skin, it’s not noticeable. I even think my shave is better than anything else!

Excellent and with a tough beard I have tried many razors and this razor consistently cuts cleanly the hairs and doesn't pull them out like the last razor

I've always used a rotary shaver, but I haven't been particularly happy with the last one and it was in need of new heads. Since they're so expensive, I looked at new shavers instead and came across this one. I'm glad I did. It's easy to use and is faster and more comfortable than my rotary. To be fair, I've only had it about a month, but it's impressed me with it's quality, and the price wasn't bad either. It was considerably less than the last couple of Phillips-Norelcos that I bought.

Great shaver. I've been using Braun for many years and the Panasonic is leaps and bounds ahead of the Braun. It shaves faster, closer and more comfortable.

Awesome razor! Takes less time to shave. Razor is sharp and covers a large surface area with no nicks. Holds a great charge. I've only used it dry, but am very satisfied.

Easy to maneuver around face. Plenty of power. Good shave but doesn’t allow close shave like hand held razor.

This shaver does an excellent job of shaving and, after using it several times, I'd buy it again and recommend it to others.

I really enjoy the new ARC45 from panasonic. It lasts a long time on charge. I use it daily and only recharge every 2 weeks. Gives a nice close shave. It is also very quiet compared to other electrics I have used in the past.

Bought this to replace an aging Braun series 5, and the difference in quality is amazing! Shaves incredibly close and works better than I hoped it would, couldn’t be happier that I picked it up!

I've had a number of Braun razors over the years. This is my first Panasonic, and i'm glad I have it. You won't get a fresh razor shave close, but I think this is about as close as you can get with an electric razor. I read some reviews where this might be rough for sensitive skin, but I think its still a more comfortable than my previous Braun (8 years old now). So unless you have super sensitive skin, I don't think you'll have a problem. The shave head is huge and it takes some getting used to, but its not a big deal. The batter is good for about 5 days of daily shaving. I wish it was a little bit better.

Reasonable priced foil shaver. So far after shaving my bald head twice; it seems to do a good job. Easy to charge and clean. Comes with a small travel case.

I like it a lot. Good close shave but it takes longer than other shavers, coming from a Norelco shaver. It also leaves hair everywhere when using the trimmer. I wish it wasn’t so messy. Haven’t used the base cleaner yet, so far just running it under water.

I have always been a Norelco user. Didn't like what they had done with the replaceable head on my last razor so I looked at other brands. This is a closer shave than I ever had from any of my Norelco's. I also get a great shave in less time.
