Used this razor about five times and the blades went dull. If you try and replace them, you must buy both razors and it’s about $75

I am torn or whether to give this a 4 or a 5 star. When in doubt I go low with the rating. The only real drawback is the trimmer, it seems undersized for a razor as large as this one is. It is at a angle that makes it hard to use and see when using it. I use a dedicated trimmer to work around the facial hair I keep. This is a five blade/strip system that does a really nice job. When used wet you get a very close shave, not sure it is the closest I have ever had but I have only used in for less than a week and still adjusting to it. The head is on a pivot that can be locked in place by sliding the thumb/locking control half way to enabling the trimmer. Battery life will easily get you weeks of shaving, and it only takes about an hour to recharge. You can not use the razor while charging. Cleanup is pretty easy. For a dry cleaning use the brush to brush it out. A wet clean can be done by adding a little wet/hand soap to a wet razor and turning it on. Wait a few seconds for the blades to create a nice foam, run under water to rinse, remove foil and rinse inside and out. The only bad thing I had to say is the trimmer. It is small and in a hard to use location. With some trial and error I can probably get use to it. I got this to shave, not trim. I will say the motor is powerful enough to go thru the thickest of hair, getting the hair to clear the foil is the true problem just like any foil razor. I would recommend to anyone looking for a shaver. Just don't rely on the trimmer.

I had tried electric razors before several times. None of them worked. But this one did. The design of the head seemed too large but it is not, it is perfect. I was able to have a close comfortable shave the very first time I used this shaver. I think the design of the foil area and cutters is the reason it works so well. The shaver is easy to clean and has a sonic vibration cleaning mode. It also has a trimmer that pops up to clean up your sideburns. The manual is outstanding. It is very well written with clear illustrations. I loved this razor and I expect to give up blades now and only use this electric razor. It recharges so there is no cord in the way while you shave. I highly recommend this electric razor. Panasonic got it right.

Does not shave good at all Was high up on the ratings chart online but it is horrible. I am going to try to return it.

Not worth the money. The one I had for $30 that I was replacing cut 10 times better than these I returned it.

I didn't know it takes 30 days for this shaver to properly as my face acclimates. I don't like that.

This thing broke me out so bad. Don't recommend for sensitive ski

I'm always skeptical of shavers like this, because none have really given me close shave without ruining my skin. But this one has been great to use. I especially like that it's wet/dry which helps for with after workout grooming. Pop up trimmer works okay, doesn't seem to get close for fine detailing my mustache to me. Comes with a "leather" carrier and battery is long lasting.

This is my first Panasonic razor! I was previously using a much more expensive razor and decided to get this razor. Here is what I like: Received my first smooth shave in a long time. Find it interesting that I do not feel any vibrations on my face, only in the handle making for a smooth razor to skin contact experience. Handle with thumb stop gives better, more accurate control. The handle is also very comfortable to hold. Love the battery % indicator that drops as you use the razor to help you determine remaining time left until a recharge is needed. I recharged the razor at 20 % and did take approx 1 hour to a full charge. I was able to get 3 shaves before I hit 20% but I do have some tough whisker's under my chin and neck area that require more shaving time. My previous razor has a cleaning charge station that I thought I would miss, but, this razor is very easy to clean and oil treat and does not take hardly any time at all and I will save $$$ by not needing cleaning cartridges which can add up over time. The trimmer is adequate but I don't use razor trimmers anyway. What I Don't like: Not much to tell here and I guess time will tell on the longevity of this razor. Over All, I would definitely recommend this to any one who is looking for a Great razor at a good value.

I typically use a disposable razor for shaving so switching to the Arc5 electric shaver has been an adjustment for me which has become easier the more I use it. I don’t have a ton of facial hair nor does it grow very fast but, it’s enough to where I have to shave two times per week before looking scruffy and not presentable for work. The razor itself is sleek and well built. You can tell by the construction and feel it will last a long time. It comes with clear instructions for charging, use and cleaning. Panasonic is giving you a two-year warranty with the razor which is also very comforting. When you spend a good amount of money on a product and the company stands behind it, it’s truly a good sign. I’ve used it dry, wet and with shaving cream. I prefer the wet option with a little bit of shaving cream as this is clearly the closest and cleanest option. I warn however that you should thoroughly clean it after using it this way so that there is no residue the next time you use it. The trimmer works really well for sideburns or areas where you are touching up and the switch on the back moves easily from the trimmer setting to the lock which stabilizes the shave head and free so that it follows your face more freely while in use. Great razor and I highly recommend it.

The Panasonic Arc5 shaver has been an excellent addition to my daily grooming accessories. in the past I had only used old Norelco shavers but about thirty years ago I switched to old fashioned razors for my shaving needs as the electric razors of that time just didn't do the job for me. I can see that in thirty years a lot has changed! Normally I keep a beard on my face and shave my head. I was initially worried that an electric razor would not be up to that task. I have been happily surprised by the effectiveness of this Panasonic razor in getting the job done. In half the time! An added bonus is the attached trimming tool which has proven to be rather handy! So far I've gotten four full shaves between charges which alone is impressive. Charging to full takes a little over an hour. The included carrying case is rather nice and attractive. Overall, I'm impressed and happy with this electric shaver!

After using a circular, three blade electric shaver from a different manufacturer, I decided to try the Panasonic ARC 5 wet/dry shaver. I have to shave every other day otherwise beard gets too big. This shaver has 4 blades which are excellent for daily, clean, smooth shaving. If I wait three days, it does not do such a good job. The charge lasts almost two weeks of every other day use. It has a nice convenient and useful trimmer. The head is very flexible to adapt to contour of the face. It does take a few more passes below the chin than it does to shave the cheeks. Its very easy to clean and the instruction manual, though short, it give clear instructions. Though it does not do as perfect job as I would like, it is perfect for traveling and everyday use.

The quality of the shave from this razor is excellent. It is a lot closer that I expected. Usually I have to use an electric shaver followed by a safety razor to get the closest possible shave. I like the display that indicates how much power is left, so there is no more surprises when the battery dies. I haven't had any problems with the battery life so far. I also like the size and the leather pouch that comes with this. This shaver travels well. The only problem I had was using the pop up trimmer felt a little awkward compared to others I have used. Overall, still a great shaver.

Went firm a Braun series 5 and that thing sucked! Constantly pulled hairs and the long hair trimmer never worked well overall switching over to the Panasonic is night and day! I feel like it cuts my facial hair so effortlessly and in much less time! Glad I can get a really good shave at a reasonable price! 100

The Panasonic - Arc5 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver - Matte Black is an excellent shaver able to nearly replace your straight-edge razor completely. The 5-blade system uses cross-cut action rather than rotary blades like many other systems. Panasonic boasts 70,000 cross-cut actions per minute! I found this shaver to be an awesome upgrade to various other "cross-cut" shavers. Cross-cut razors traditionally get hot and are not well designed for closeness without rash or heat burn to the face and neck. The Panasonic Arc5 seems to have overcome this dilemma by give a close shaver (close to a straight-edge) without contributing to razor burn and heat transfer. Wet and dry, this razor was a beard buster. The edging/trimmer was close and precise for hairline, around ears, goatee, and around lips. PROS - Panasonic design and quality - Effective both wet or dry - Close shave without heat or razor burn - Accessories and pouch were appropriate and compact for travel or for the drawer - Trimmer is precise and effective for tight hairlines and sensitive spots - Variable pivoting head makes any position or angle successful for shaving NEUTRAL - Recharging/cleaning base should be standard with this device, not an addon. CONS - None

+ works very well regardless if you shave daily or weekly + station cleans and dries - maintenance (blades replacement and station refills) is not cheap, but not that bad comparing to mid-range shavers. plus you can switch to non-original refills, but I do not feel need to.

This is my first time trying an electric shaver. I generally use a trimmer, so wasn't sure how this will work. But honestly, this has done a great job that I might switch to this long term. This shaver is pretty comfomfy when holding and it is not bulky or heavy either. I charged it to 100% battery before first use, as always with any battery operated device. There is a LCD display that indicates your battery percentage. The shaver comes with a case for easy storage and travel. Since this is waterproof, you can use it in the shower as well, plus cleaning under a tap is handy. There is a sensor that changes the power based on the beard density where you are shaving. On the back side of the unit (if you are facing the display), there is a pop-up trimmer that comes in handy for sideburns and mustaches. The outer foil and the inner blades are replaceable. This is more like an everyday shaver. If you have grown out your beard, you might want to use a trimmer first before using this shaver and continue to use it everyday to get the clean shave look. Overall, a really good shaver and I would recommend it to anyone looking for everyday use.

I have been using the shaver for about a week. Definitely works better than my old electric razor which after two years of using it, I was never happy and resorted to a manual razor, even after changing the heads 3 times in 2 years. I can already tell the razor is working better than the past and know that it takes a few weeks for the razor and my skin to get into sync with each other. I checked again tonight and still looking good. Can't wait to see how this is working in a month, but can tell that I am already happier with this than the other electric and definitely happier not too have to use a manual razor anymore,.

Panasonic makes the best electric shavers, and I have tried all the major brands. The closeness of the shave without irritation is outstanding, and I have a very heavy beard! It works best with a shave cream or just water, but will give a good dry shave when in a pinch. I highly recommend this shaver!
