Close shave, better than expected
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate shaving because I always seem to either cut above my lip,or I end up with several in grown hair. I’ve always been wary of electric razors but decided to give this a chance. I am very pleased with this device and have tried it out for a few weeks now. Pros: -precise shave. It gets clean to the skin without any cuts on my face due to the 5 blades that give me a nice smooth movement. -noise: it’s quiet which I like a lot. I was afraid it would be too loud in the morning when my family is asleep, but there is a nice soft sound that is not too loud. -movement: it moves along my chin and mouth area very nicely. There is a very loose pivot joint that allows it to navigate your face in smooth motions. -battery life. When first opened and powered on, the Digital display indicates you have about 30% charged. After about an hour of charging I was at full power. It’s been over a week and I’ll use it every morning and the battery life is at 80%. -traveling pouch. Nice little leather-like pouch addition to store it in. Cons: -size: it’s somewhat bulky for my hand, can get a little uncomfortable. It’s not too heavy but feels awkward in my hand. -sideburn trimmer: this doesn’t get a clean cut to my sideburns due to the position of the head. When you pop out the trimmer, the head is now locked where it will not move. But the trimmer is either too short or the blades does not cut well. Overall I am very pleased with the Arc5. It gives me precise shave and the battery life is very good. I am disappointed with the side burn trimmer, but overall very happy with the Arc5.

Excellent replacement for my old Arc3
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using electric razors since the early 80s, my first one being a good ol’ reliable Remington. Then over the years I’ve had all the major brands and finally settled on Panasonic. For my beard this one does the best job of them all. I have some hairs that are super thick and tough, I can’t use a razor as these hairs cause the blade to dig in and cut me. After trying an electric long ago and this never happening I was sold on using electrics ever since. My old Panasonic Arc3 is really showing its age, and it was about time to retire it, I’ve had it for 11 years and it never let me down. In that time I’ve gotten a couple other ones “Norelco and Braun” to try out and for me they just didn’t work as well. I saw the Arc5 and finally decided to try one out. Unboxing: The Arc5 came in a nice retail box, and inside the razor was in a nice leatherette carrying pouch along with a charger, lubricating oil, cleaning brush, smoked plastic protector for the head, and paperwork. There’s no room in the pouch for the charger so that would have to be packed separately when traveling. Using: The first thing I did was plug it in and charge it up, it was half charged so getting a full charge took less than an hour. There’s a nice graphical battery display on this one, different from the LCD display of the Arc 3. I also washed it thoroughly making sure the head was clean. These Panasonic's are very easy to clean too. We have an automatic dispenser with antibacterial hand soap in it and it dispenses just the right amount for cleaning. I then run a little water over the head and turn it on and run for a few seconds, “there’s a cleaning instruction sheet included that shows pretty much the same”. After letting it dry out I went ahead and shaved. I let my beard grow out a couple days beforehand so that I could give it a good workout. My old one didn’t have any problems with this so I figured this one would have to equal it for me to be happy and I wasn’t disappointed. I noticed that this one has more of a hum to it and is quieter than the old Arc3. I see in the specs that the Arc5 has a 70k cut per minute rate “cpm”, and the Arc3 is rated at 13k cpm. That’s a big difference, and surprisingly it’s quieter doing so “could be the age of my Arc3 too”. Shaving seemed pretty much the same except it cut through hair a lot faster “probably due to it having 2 extra blades and higher cpm”. And the wide head pivoted around my face just as good as my old one. Afterwards I was left with a very nice, close clean shave. I’ve never used shaving cream or lotion with my shavers, something I may have to try one of these days but have never really seen a need to use it. Conclusion: Once again Panasonic has produced an excellent razor, for my beard type it works great. I like the pivoting head; it has a lot more movement to it than my old Arc3. I like the two extra blades, makes shaving that much faster. The way the head pivots more too means I’m not moving my wrist around as much getting into all the little spaces around my face. And like my old one it’s very easy to keep clean. My only minor complaint is the trimmer popout, I think the Arc3 had a better one, and is easier to use, but it’s not that big of a difference to worry about. I’ve found that with all electric razors you have to try them out to see which one suits your bear/skin type, everyone isn’t the same, but for me this one is pretty much perfect. If it works for you I’m sure you’ll like the Arc5 by Panasonic.

Good for shaving my legs!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is really good so far for shaving my legs. Been tired of cutting myself with normal shaver and cream. For now I've been doing just dry shaving. Cleaning is easy. It doesn't capture all the hair because the way my hair grows but circular motion works and need to invest some time, but at least I don't cut myself

Another Great Shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been Panasonic Arc Shaver user for more than 20 years (maybe more than that), but with Covid19 being what it's been, it was time to find a shaver that could also be used as a trimmer. In my opinion Panasonic has the best wet/dry shaver on the market, it's 13,000CPM motor has given me a good shave for years. I used to shave in the shower but over the years I've adjusted to a dry shave. The Panasonic pop-up trimmer often helps me knock down the first layer with easy. The thin foil cover helps me get a clean, close shave. And it stays charged for a long, time I frequently only recharge when the charge level drops to 20%, and this will take 2-3 weeks, using every other day (typically). Well after letting covid19 made me lazy (not needing to shave because I was not leaving the house), the bearded look started to set in, as did my need for a haircut, or at least a trim. The two different trimmers, adjustable from 1mm to 6mm made this a very flexible choice. The 3mm trimmer is perfect for keeping my stash just the right length, and the 6mm is fine to keep my hair (what's left) trimmed. Using it as a Dry shaver, it does not pull or tug on you whiskers, it smoothly and effectively cuts them down. The before and after pictures below took about 2 minutes. This was the most hair I've ever had on my face, and it had to go. The Arc Shaver performed wonderfully, and given my prior experience with Panasonic Shavers, I know it will continue to do so for many years. If you've never tried a straight electric shaver, this is the one to get. It's easy to keep clean, just don't dent the shaving head, and it will take care of you beard for years. The trimmer, is easy to use and does a great job of cleaning up, the thin foil head gives a shave as close as you can get (or need to). And if you want to use it to trim your hair this trimmers adjustable clipon's do a great job. ARC shavers continues to be one of my favorite products, it's only improved over the years.

Comfortable Shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note that this review is from someone who's been using rotary electric shavers for life, and my first time using foil shavers. The shaver is well built, newest in the Arc 5 line with five foils, so it's large, covering the most surface on shavers of this type. The whole shaver is made in Japan. It comes with a charger that is 100v-240v -- with 110v plug (Needs an adapter when traveling abroad). Also comes with a compact case in the shape of the shaver. It charges quickly, but using a proprietary plug. It came as a surprise that it doesn't use a standard or wireless charger. The internal Li-Ion battery is replaceable but not user-replaceable as the seal can break when opening the shaver (As per instructions). A display shows the percentage charge remaining (but not an estimation of time remaining). It seems to be able to go for weeks without recharging so this is fine It's also somewhat loud, compared to other shavers. It's waterproof and can be used in both dry and wet shaving. The shaving head pivots to follow the contour of the face, and can also be locked in place. I personally find it more steady and quicker to use by locking it. It does produce a clean shave, but I have to go over several times. It doesn't work very well with overgrown beard. It's best to use a trimmer first. Also because the shaving head is so large and the foils are a bit far from the edge of the shaving head, it can be blunt when trying to shave around facial hair. For this it comes with a trimmer that pops from the back of the shaving head, and works very well for cleaning off sideburns. After several uses, it gets better, although problem areas like around the neck persist. No issues whatsoever with nicks or cuts. Cleaning: The manual recommends to wash, rinse and then oil it daily. This seems a bit much to me. Opening it and rinsing it is actually very easy. I'd say the easiest shaver to clean. Note that there is also a version of this same shaver with a rinsing base. Holding the base of the shaver feels natural. It has a grip area on the front right below the pivoting head, and the whole back is rubberized. Overall it's a great foil shaver that produces smooth and close shaves. Give it about a week to get used to it.

Stunning design, great results
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Design: ________________________ This shaver has stunning design, it looks like shaver from the future. Feels very good in the hand and back side of the handle has texture to improve grip and help avoid accidental / slippery drops. Device has 5 replaceable shaving blades which are doing great job, and flexible head which is designed for both efficacy and comfort. Backside of the head has adjustable pop up trimmer blade and front has beautiful display which shows LED percentage (in increment of 20) of the battery charge. Experience: _____________________ I have really strong beard which sometimes I let grow little bit but this shaver did great job and provided clean cut and pleasant shaving. On some spots I had to use pop up trimmer (chin and parts of the neck) but results were surprisingly good. Most of the time I use razor but with this shaver I will definitely start skipping razor’s more than ever before. Definitely great shaver, if it can shave my hard brush beard, it will work for anyone else. I love it. Features: ____________________ First I want to mention that device works on both 110 and 240 volts which makes this great for (international) travel because it will work everywhere in the world. Also it comes with travel case, small double sided cleaning brush and bottle of cleaning oil. Device has travel lock switch to prevent accidental running in the case or bag, and this could be activated by pressing power switch in sequence (press / release, press and hold for 2 seconds). Shaver has sensor which automatically adjust the cutting power based on your beard thickness. Fast charge makes this device ready in minutes. Device can be used on dry or wet face and device itself is washable which makes cleaning effortless. Pros: ___________________ Design 5 shaving blades Sensor adjusted power Travel lock switch Flexible head 110-240V compatible Great for travel Fast charge Easy cleaning Travel case 2 year warranty Cons: ____________________ None

Excellent upgrade or entry to electric shavers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed this shaver! This was an upgrade for me from a straight edge. I was hesitant, but open to try it due to my shaking hands. Battery life is not an issue haven't had to charge it after 3 shaves. It is easy to clean due to the top popping off with two tabs being pushed. The sweet bonus for me was the trimmer part as shown in the pictures. I didn't know it had one until I got it, but it works marvelously on long hairs and for edging.

Effortless Shaving with the Panasonic Arc3 Wet/Dry
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Panasonic Arc3 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver is an excellent product for anyone who wants a close, comfortable shave without the hassle of using a traditional razor. This shaver is designed with three ultra-sharp, ultra-thin Nanotech blades that provide a smooth, clean shave with minimal irritation. The blades are also angled at a 30-degree angle, allowing them to follow the contours of your face and neck for a more precise shave. One of the standout features of this shaver is its ability to be used wet or dry. You can use it in the shower with your favorite shaving cream or gel for a more comfortable shave, or you can use it dry for a quick and easy shave on the go. It's also incredibly easy to clean, thanks to its waterproof design. Simply rinse it under running water to remove any hair or debris. Another great feature of the Panasonic Arc3 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver is its built-in pop-up trimmer. This is perfect for shaping and trimming your sideburns or beard, and it makes it easy to get a precise, professional-looking shave every time. Overall, I highly recommend the Panasonic Arc3 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver to anyone who wants a high-quality, versatile electric shaver. It provides a close, comfortable shave and is incredibly easy to use and maintain. So if you're in the market for a new electric shaver, definitely consider the Panasonic Arc3 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver.

Easily handles a beard to smooth skin
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I liked: - The rubber grips feel good in the hand - The tapered grip handle of the razer made holding the razer during shaving easy to get the neck area - Razer has a lot of power - Pop up trimmer cut right through my 1" beard - 2 trim attachments with multiple settings work well (attachments appeared to look awkward at first, but were actually ergonomic in the hand) - battery seems to hold charge with lasting power - Took down long hair with one pass - Skin felt smooth and shave lasted longer than previous electric shaver - Pop up trimmer gave me a clean edge around my goatee beard - No redness or ingrown hairs so far - Trimmed up my hair line in the back - Easily washable during shaving - Did not tug hair - I don't have to push it into my face for smooth shave - unit did not get hot while using What can be improved: - This razer is very loud and can be heard throughout the house - When the pop up trimmer is out it is even louder - No charging stand included - No storage pouch included - My unit did not include a cleaning brush (I guess you can just rinse it with water) I have been using foil based electric raisers for years. My skin is super delicate and is easily irritated when I shave. When I moved from disposable to electric my first venture was with rotary shaver. Rotary shaved real close to skin but my skin always got irritated with red rash and ingrown hairs. So I switched to foil and never looked back. This razer motor is much more stronger than my previous foil shaver but much more louder. So the trade off here is a better shave vs. a louder shave. The individual hairs on my face are very thick and I felt this shaver cut through the hairs like butter. I am left handed and like most shavers did not have a problem using this one. I would say if you buy this one just make sure to buy a razer pouch for storage. My previous shaver came with a stand and accessory compartments. Thins to know about the unit: Replacement parts per operating instructions: System outer foil and inner blades --> WES9013 System outer foil --> WES9087 Inner blades --> WES9068 Battery is non replaceable and is of the Lithium ion chemistry (can be removed for recycling) Included oil is made up of liquid paraffin

Smooth shave, decent battery life, travels well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m switching to this electric Panasonic Arc5 razor after having used another brand’s wet/dry electric razor for the past 13 years. The Arc5 razor is lightweight, and the matte black plastic doesn’t look or feel very premium, however, a silver/chrome model is also available and the warranty is 2 years. This razor performs very nicely and gives me a close shave both when using dry and wet with shaving cream. I very rarely have to make more than one pass over the same patch of skin, though I find that when shaving dry it’s easier to pull the skin taught to raise the hairs since I don’t have to work over the shaving cream. The first time I used the razor I did experience a bit of razor burn and irritation, especially around the Adam’s apple; the manual suggests that it could take up to 30 days of regular use for your skin to acclimate to the new shaver. That, plus I haven’t clean shaven properly in weeks as growing out your beard has become quite trendy during the COVID-19 pandemic. That said, I did use the trimmers first to trim my facial hair down to stubble before shaving and was impressed with the efficiency and smoothness of the pop up trimmers; they didn’t catch, pull, or snag once, which my old electric razor used to do constantly. If you like the stubble or 5 o’clock shadow look, you could probably even stop there. The LCD is bright and easy to read, but it really only gives you information about the remaining battery life and whether or not it is set to the “cleaning” mode. The charging cable connector is uniquely shaped, so if you lose it or it breaks, you’ll need to get a model/series specific replacement cable. It lasts about 2 weeks on a full charge (1 hour) if your daily shave averages about 3 minutes. While the unit I have did not come with a charging base, there are contacts on back of the handle for automatic charging when the razor is placed into a charging base. What I did find interesting about this razor is its beard density sensor which changes the motor speed based on the density/coarseness of the section of beard it is trimming. You can hear the motor sound change as it encounters thinner or thicker patches of hair, which works well on my uneven and patchy beard growth. The razor also has a cleaning cycle and comes with blade oil to maintain the blade sharpness and a brush to clean out any shavings. The top pops off easily for cleaning, and the foils and blades are simple to remove and replace when needed. The unit did come with a leatherette carry case and a plastic protective cap for travel. Overall, I really like this razor and think it performs nicely for my daily shaving needs.

Works but Not Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.--- SETUP --- This Panasonic electric shaver can be fully charged in an hour with the unique included charger. The adapters, once you figure out where they go, are easy to put on and remove. --- FEATURES --- The key features of this shaver are the quick full time charge and that it can be used in wet or dry environments. It also has a trimmer with 2 adapters for trimming at various lengths. --- PERFORMANCE --- The shaver, at first use, was not as effective as I hoped it would be. I used shaving cream while shaving and it didn’t give me a clean shave. The trimmer, on the other hand, was fantastic. I used it to trim my sideburns and it did a good job. Then, I trimmed my beard with the second add-on adapter (5,6,7 levels). The trimmer is by far the best part of this electric shaver. See the picture for the difference. After the initial shave, I continued using it daily for upkeep and I find it ok for daily use, so long as I don’t let my beard grow for a full week, it can keep up. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The Panasonic shaver is just ok when compared to a regular 4-5 blade razor. I find a razor to be more efficient if your beard has grown close to an inch. If you plan on shaving daily after shaving with a razor, then this might work. However, the bulkiness of the electric shaver compared to a razor interfered with the part of my face that I was trying to shave, so I had to double-check I would accidentally shave more than I wanted. On the manual, to clean it, you are to add a little dab of soap and have running water go into the shaver while on to create a lather, then rinse. Doing so causes a large splatter because the shaver only has one setting. No brush is included to clean it for that reason. --- VALUE --- The price for the shaver is worth it if you plan on using it daily. --- APPROVAL --- I only recommend this product for people planning on up-keeping their beard daily since it will take you longer to shave if you only shave once a week.

Pretty good electric shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll be honest. This is the first electric shaver I've owned in roughly 35 years as I've been using a razor and shaving cream. I've been using the Panasonic ARC3 for about a week now and while it could never compete with a razor and shaving cream for smoothness, it's nice to have on hand for a quick shave if going out and you don't want to go through the hassle of using the blade and shaving cream. I have average stubble I guess, and not heavy thick facial hair like many guys do, so I can't comment on that. But for your average guy like me, or someone with less than average facial hair, this Panasonic ARC3 electric razor will do a very nice job. You can also use it in the shower, but I have not tried that feature. The Panasonic ARC3 also has two attachments that are easily attached to the shaver so that you can trim your beard. Each attachment has 3 settings for hair length. the setting go from 1-3 mm (1/32 to 1/8) on one attachment, and the other goes from 5-7 mm (3/16 to 9/32). There is also an easy to use pop up trimmer that you open with just a flick of your thumb to trim your sideburns of mustache. A few other features of this shaver is an LED display that lets you know that it's on which seams weird, a battery logo that shows the battery life left. When fully charged, the battery led logo turns off. It takes about 1 hour to fully charge. If the battery happens to be dead, by charging for roughly 3 minutes, you get enough power for a quick shave. And a nice feature is that you can lock the shaver so it can't turn on. This feature would come in handy if your shaver is in a suitcase while traveling in case it were to accidentally get turned on with your suitcase being tossed around by baggage handlers at the airport or a bumpy plane ride. Also included in the box is a small bottle of oil, the two hair length attachments mentioned above and a 6' power cord. I was pretty surprised that the power cord was 6' and not something way shorter. heck, the power cord for my 5 blade Lasko fan is only 5'. And you also get a printed owners manual which I found surprising as most manuals are online now days. The manual is in English, Spanish and French. Just the English section is 21 pages. There is also a one sheet that shows you how to clean your shaver using liquid soap and water. A product registration card that you can mail or fill out online, and it comes with a 2 year warranty which is great. It seems most items come with just a 1 year warranty now. But 2 years could be 600 + shaves, so I find that to be a nice warranty. There are two things I wish the Panasonic ARC3 electric shaver came with though to bring my review up to 5 stars. One would be a carrying case of some sort so that you can have the shaver, 2 attachments, oil and charging cord all together instead of having them scattered in the drawer in your bathroom, or all over your suitcase. The other item that would have been terrific to have would have been a small brush to help remove all the hair from the blades. Blowing on the blades does help some to remove the hair. I don't recommend tapping the shaver on the side of the sink to remove the hair as that might damage the shaver. I use an old soft bristle toothbrush to do this and it works great. Overall, I highly recommend the Panasonic ARC 3 wet/dry electric shaver. I'm giving it 4 stars on the review. But really I thinks it's 4 1/2, but you can't do half stars on Best Buy. The 1/2 point of is because to carrying pouch/case and no soft brush to clean the blades.

Simple Shaver with Great Results
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve spent a few days thus far and I can’t find any reason not to recommend this shaver. My favorite features include its wet/dry capability as well as its ability to detect more resistance and increase power when needed. Not once did I ever feel discomfort from the main foil or the pop up trimmer. And it does its job very well. Some of the newer shavers have a base to self clean; I like that I can just pop the cover off and rinse the blades after each use, and that’s good enough for me. It comes with oil so you can keep the blades running smooth. If you use shaving cream or run it while in the shower, you probably will need to oil more often, I'm guessing. Just think, no need to purchase more cleaning cartridges, keeping this shaver economical long term. It has a streamlined design that feels comfortable in your hands and it’s not bulky to hold. A full change is about an hour, and run times are about 50 minutes ‘till empty. I charge it once a week so I don’t get caught off guard. YMMV, of course.

Pretty solid shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The shaver seems pretty solid and all-around quality shaver. I prefer the horizontal shavers as opposed to the circular ones. I think these shave a bit cleaner than the circular/triangular ones do. The package includes the basic things like a case, charger and some oil. Nice little package and will be great for traveling. This shaver also has a side trimmer. The head on this shaver is pretty loose compared to other ones I've had. It's a floating head so it's just a bit different than what some people might be used to. There is an option to lock the head in place too so there is that. Shaver cleans really nice and is easy to clean so that's always a bonus.

A razor made for beards in mind.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is your typical modern razor made for beards due to the attachments. I prefer the close shave of a razor which this does not come close to. Nor does any electric razor. I have to I did use this for a few days and it did cut really well compared to other premium ones I have used. I like the feature that adjusts to your hair. I did not get to use the long beard attachments but I’m planning to this fall. I think it will do a good job for longer beards. I should note it uses the trimmer for the beard attachments so we will see how it does. My favorite part is the pop out trimmer. Those always were my favorite.

Love this shaver!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only used this shaver a few times since purchaseing, but I can already tell this is one of the best I've ever bought. My most recent electric was a Remington F5. Used it about 6 years. Bulky, heavy, NOISY, and had to go over and over the same areas to get close. The last replacement blade/foil combo did not shave any closer than the used 2-year old one it was replacing! I've also owned Braun - nice but expensive. Norelco triple head rotary - too many parts to clean and not particularly close. Which brings me to the Panasonic Arc5. It is very comfortable to hold. Extremely quiet! Gives a nice close shave. Has the option to keep the head locked or to flex in different directions. And can be used wet or dry. I've only used it dry -- but I do set my beard up with a pre-shave lotion first. I really like the gauge that tells me how much battery life is left too. I am really impressed so far. Time will tell if there is any longevity to this model. The replacement foil/cutter is quite expensive and must be ordered online. None of the local chain stores stock it.

Quick, quiet, close, and efficient shaver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had used a Braun Series 5 (8000) Activator for what seemed like forever. It had seen better days (even with replaced foil and cutter block). I saw the Panasonic Arc5 on Deal of the Day. I had no idea how good this shaver was, but the reviews were outstanding around the Internet so I went for it. I first was taken aback by the large shaver head (I guess due to the 5 blades) but quickly learned that this made shaving quicker. Pros: It cuts closer, and is quieter than my Braun. It is comfortable to hold, and there is no burning or scratching afterwards. It has a pop-up trimmer, and can be used wet or dry (haven't tried the wet shave yet), and also rinses or washes clean. It also has great battery life, shows battery left percentage, time used, and time to clean indicator. In addition, it has a lock-out feature that when activated, it won’t accidentally turn on when you don’t want it to, like when in your luggage. Cons: You can’t use it while it is charging. Also, maybe it’s just my beard, because the Braun did the same thing, but there are a number of hard to cut hairs left behind on my lower neck, and where the jaw meets the neck (especially next to my ears). The pop-up trimmer can help with that.
