And a camera that would not take zoom photos first, then would not retract the lens the full way nor take any photos at all. Couldn't even put it in the case to bring it back. Under a month old, it is now shipped out for repairs. UGH!

Never worked

It would not read the SD card. Stated looking on the Internet and saw that it is a known issue with these cameras. Would have been good to know.

If your Panasonic DMC-ZS100K camera is unable to read the memory card, there could be several reasons for this issue. Ensure that the memory card is compatible with your camera. The DMC-ZS100K supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards. Using an unsupported type of card could be causing the issue. If the card is new or was previously used in a different device, it may need to be formatted to be compatible with your camera. Note that formatting will erase all data on the card, so make sure to back up any important files first. You can format the card directly in the camera using the camera’s menu settings. -M
Good camera but overcharged

The canera value brand new is at around 400 yet best buy is charging around 600 is extremely disappointing to see this.

No Open Box Ever Again

Didn’t even use it. I took it straight to my local Best Buy and did an immediate return of the item. I normally get open box items but this was the first time it went so wrong.

Weak performer

I find it difficult to use, really slow to focus, lack of definition and crispness. No indicator on camera or instructions how to use the flash. But, the great weakness is the slow focus. Burst shots are great, but really clog up the memory card and are very hard to deal with and edit back at home.

It may take awesome pictures, it may have great zoom and it may have great shallow depth of field but I wouldn’t know. Why? Because I couldn’t figure out the camera settings! Everything was so complicated and settings were so hidden! And the online manual was of no help. Nor could I find a tutorial to help with setting up the camera. Unfortunately my little town has little to offer in the way of a decent camera shop with knowledgeable staff so I couldn’t ask anyone for help in this either.This camera is not for the technically challenged.

Just one thing missing

I didn't think it would be a big issue coming from 6 years of Sony nex model cameras. But the camera quality makes up for that factor. For those who want the Best option from a smartphone this is it. The zoom really helps out for taking close ups without getting close! Very pocketable and the price is right.
