  • General
    • Brand: Panasonic
    • Model Number: DMC-ZS100K
    • Product Name: LUMIX ZS100 1-inch 20.1-Megapixel Sensor Point and Shoot Digital Camera with LEICA DC 10X Lens - DMC-ZS100K
    • Color: Black
    • Digital Camera Type: Point and Shoot Cameras
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: NMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: 1” (13.2 x 8.8 mm)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 5472 x 3648 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Zoom Capability: true (This function allows for magnification of the subject.)
    • Digital Zoom: 4x (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Optical Zoom: 10x (The optical zoom uses a combination of lenses that magnify the image prior to it being registered at high resolution by the imaging sensor.)
    • Image File Format(s): AVCHD, JPEG, MP4, RAW (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): true (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: Still: 60-1/2,000 sec (mechanical shutter), 1-1/16,000 sec (electronic shutter), Time: 120 sec; Motion: 1/30-1/16,000 sec, 1/25-1/16,000 sec (24p mode), 1/2-1/16,000 sec (creative Video M/MF mode) (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Brightness Control: false (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Burst Rate: 30 frames per second
    • Self Timer: true
    • Self-Timer Delay: 10 seconds
    • Shooting Modes: Clear Portrait, Silky Skin, Relaxing Tone, Child's Face, Distinct Scenery, Bright Blue Sky, Sunset Glow, Glistening Water, Nightscape, Glittering Illuminations, Night Shot, Soft Image, Appetizing Food, Dessert, Sports Shot, Monochrome (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)
    • Panorama Mode: true
    • Scene Modes: Auto, P, A, S, M, Creative, Panorama, Scene (Exposure modes with predetermined optimal settings for capturing specific scenes. Examples include Landcape, Portrait, and Sports modes.)
    • White Balance Modes: Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Shade, Incandescent, Flash, White Set1, White Set2, White Set3, White Set4, Color Temperature (2-axis adjustable) (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 20.1 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • In-Lens Image Stabilization: true (This feature helps reduce image blurring from camera motion. Lens stabilization means an element within the lens moves automatically to counteract detected motion.)
  • Flash
    • Flash Modes: Automatic, Forced, Off, Red-eye reduction, Slow sync (The flash feature emits light to increase the brightness of a subject in dimly lit environments. Common modes include Auto and Red-Eye Reduction.)
    • Integrated Flash: true
  • Display
    • Display Type: TFT-LCD
    • Screen Size: 3 inches (Size of the screen, measured diagonally from corner to corner.)
    • Screen Resolution: 1040k dots (Screens come in a range of resolutions (measured in pixels, horizontal x vertical). The higher the resolution, the greater the picture quality.)
    • Viewfinder Type: Electronic (A viewfinder is the part of a camera (or attachment) that allows you to see and focus a scene in frame. Optical viewfinders let you view the scene directly through the lens. Electronic viewfinders display the image on a screen in its approximate final form.)
    • Touch Screen: true (Touch-screen devices make navigating more intuitive. Using a touch-screen display, you can do things such as tap to select, hold and drag to move items, swipe to scroll, and pinch to zoom.)
    • Varying Angle Screen: false (The camera's screen can be flipped out and adjusted to rotate, tilt, and/or swivel.)

Q: What's the different s between the Panasonic -Lumix DCM - ZS 100 and the Panasonic Lumix DC ZS 70k camera, considering the big differents in price.

A: The cameras are very similar on paper, both with rich feature sets. The main difference is that the ZS100 has a larger sensor and a slightly larger wide-open aperture. Therefor the ZS100 will have better image quality and will hold up better in lower light conditions. On the other hand the ZS70 has a longer zoom, which could be an advantage depending on your needs. I just bought the ZS100 and I find the zoom is very usable at it's most extended setting in well lit conditions without needing to use a tripod. I am curious how the ZS70 performs at max zoom and it was very tempting to buy, for its long reach.

Q: Does a SD card come with the camera or do i need to purchase separately?

A: You need to procure a memory card separately. The camera does not come with one.

Q: is it made in Japan?

A: The product was manufactured in China especially for the US Market.

Q: Is there a Chinese menu

A: Thank you for reaching out! Kindly be informed that the language options include Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Chinese (Traditional).

Q: Is this camera windows 10 compatible and can I down load to computer and print pictures from computer??

A: Thank you for your question! In regards to your inquiry, kindly be informed that you can send pictures to a PC running on Windows 10. In case you wish to use PHOTOfunSTUDIO, please take note that it is also compatible with Windows, as an operating environment.

Q: can this camera shoot in black and white as well as infrared?

A: This camera has several monochrome modes, but it can not shoot in infrared.

Q: How is this different from doc-zs70

A: It has less zoom capability but a larger light sensor which allows better pictures in ambient lighting without a flash. Nice camera!

Q: What filters size is compatible to his camera, or tere is any adapter i can use to mount a ND filter ?

A: You are not able to mount filters on this camera, and it is not possible to mount an adapter on it to do so.
