The viewing of 4K DVD's makes a true difference in sharpness and colors of the movies. Only 1 irritation: a woman's voice, speaking very quickly, with instructions on how to use different features. Otherwise, a big fan of this new unit!

Initial setup was a breeze and the navigation features are very user friendly. If a disc has both Dolby Vision and HDR it will default to Dolby Vision, which is exactly what I want it to do.

Best Player for the Money

Great customizable unit

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent picture quality and settings most other new players lack, namely the ability to set audio outputs to bitstream only (I don't use the built-in decoding; I want my pre-amp to handle that). Most newer units only have auto and off. The auto handshake doesn't always work (looking at you, Sony). Heck, on the Panasonic you can even set the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio streams separately! I don't use it for streaming (I task my Apple TV 4k for that). Buy it for the great performance, keep it for the customizability, especially for those of us just pre-Atmos.
