While many have gotten used to the lower quality of TV and movies from streaming services, as they compress them to death. Once you watch a movie on a 4K or Blu-Ray disc, you'll realize what you've been missing in both video quality and sound quality. With this player and 4K Blu-rays, you'll never need to go to the theater again. Seriously. I have a Klipsch RP Home Theater with Denon 3800 Receiver. With the Panasonic addition, it's just an amazing experience. You'll hear everything that was intended, from simple footsteps to crunches to everything in the scene. Horror movies are amazing; you get the full sound experience, so you may find yourself jumping much more than if watching the same movie on regular Hulu or Netflix. It's easy to set up, but you might want to check out the boards on Reddit, as they can truly help get the perfect setup with your TV and Speakers. With my setup, I did the dual HDMI so the video goes straight into my LG G5 OLED and the audio goes into my Denon. I tested out the upscaling on a Thirtysomething DVD box set, and I was blown away that it looks like it's actually HD and not the basic DVD set. Picture quality looks great and you can hear everything sniffle, cry and emotion that this show will bring out. The only maybe con could be the setup, as you have to dig through and really fine-tune some things. That's why I highly recommend using Reddit, as they are true movie geeks over there and can help guide you to get the best picture and sound quality possible. The firmware is updated regularly, and it handles Dolby Atmos wonderfully. You will truly find yourself rewatching films again and feeling like it's the first time you saw them. Some movie suggestions that will look amazing on this are A History of Violence, Barry Lyndon, Drugstore Cowboy, The Godfather, Scarface among many others.

Purchased this player so I could get non compressed audio I use it in my dedicated home theater TheAtmos is phenomenal,the picture is astounding true 4 K Player works flawlessly,I couldn’t be happier . Now I must get more 4k ultra dvds

I felt compelled to write a review of this marvelous player. It blows away my previous player, the Sony X800. Though that is a very solid player, the PQ isn't as good and the sound isn't as good either, and no DV (dolby vision). The X800 has a better build quality with more metal but that's where it stops. After hooking up this player, I threw in Baby Driver, which the first chase scene with his red car looks and sounds reference. I've also watched The Office on blu-ray and the upscaling on this player is second to none. It upscales blu-rays and makes them really look close to 4K. Next we watched Prisoners and having seen this movie several times on blu-ray, it was easily the most detailed and crisp it has ever looked. The network streaming is also right on track. I have the Simpsons and Seinfeld ripped to my network hard drive (don't worry I own the discs) and both look great. Now it's standard definition but the network interface is nice and works just fine. I would recommend this to anyone willing to spend a little extra to get the best audio and picture quality for your 4K set. I have a TCL 55" that does DV and it just looks so sharp with this player. It also upscales beautifully. Highly recommended!!

Picture and sound quality are excellent. Very quiet during playback and fast disc loading speed. Very satisfied with the Panasonic DP-UB820 player. Highly recommended.

I am not a Technical Expert. My set up Sony 65A80CJ Onkyo RZ-50 plus Klipch Dolby Atmos Speakers 5.1.2 Panasonic UB820-K Xbox Series X HDMI 2.1 Cables Using the dedicated dual HDMI outputs of the 4k player. 1 for the video straight to the tv and 1 straight to the Onkyo RZ-50 for audio. 4k disc picture looks Amazing. Movies Played or have Queued to watch so far SEE photo Below. I do have a XBOX Series X But I really do think the picture is much better on a dedicated 4k player, plus the Xbox does not play movies in Dolby Vision. Value rating is subjective. My 3 star Is someone else 4 or 5 If you have a Higher end 4k tv with IMAX enchaned and Dolby Vision and like watching 4k movies on Physical Media at their best, This player is Recommended. If your tv I was a little hesitant in the purchase 500.00 is alot when you already have a 4k Player XBOX. I am not disappointed.
