If your looking for the best 4k player with Dolby Vision then this is the one to get!

I have been looking for a 4K blu ray player to rival the now discontinued Oppo BDP 203 for another room and this player fit the bill. The tone mapping for HDR feature makes the picture pop. The flexible lossless audio options makes this a perfect player even if you have an older audio system that does not internally decode all formats like DTS HD Master Audio. Overall, I am very satisfied with this player.

This player is out of this world. Pick one up as soon as possible

Thought my previous 4k player was fine but kept reading articles talking about dolby vision and dolby atmos. My old player couldn't do those. Wow, what a difference. Noticed a significant improvement in picture and sound immediately

This is my second 820 4k player. Bought because Best Buy is no longer stocking players. My first player is 3 years old and works perfectly. Adjust color saturation for more picture pop from remote control.

I bought the UB-820 so that I could use separate HDMI cables for video and audio. I confirmed that this would work with a Best Buy associate. I wanted to do this not only to maintain the separation of the signals, but to be able to take advantage of HDR-10+, which my Denon receiver cannot Pass, but my Vizio M-558(also purchased from Best Buy) can display along with Dolby Vision and standard HDR-10. After setting everything up, I put in a 4K blu ray to check everything out. Video looked great. One major problem though...no sound. Nothing. Just silence. I checked every cable, and setting. Just nothing. When putting things back together, I still had the movie playing, and when I put the hdmi from the UB-820 back in, I suddenly got the audio playing though the Denon. Great! All set right? Wrong. As soon as I plugged the HDMI that goes from the Denon into the tv, which carries all the other video to the tv, the audio stops again. After trying for an entire weekend trying everything, contacting Best Buy with no help, asking on every forum I could find, I was left with 2 options. Go behind my tv and remove the HDMI from the Denon every time I wanted to watch anything from the UB-820, or route only 1 HDMI to carry both audio and video through the receiver, and in the process losing HDR-10+, and negating one of the main selling points of the player. I’ve gone with the second option at the moment. I don’t know if it’s an issue with the player or the tv, but “hi-res” dedicated audio HDMI not being a working option is very disappointing. On the purchase side, after getting the email that the order shipped and given the delivery date, I took that day off from work to be home so I could avoid theft from my front door which happens often. Unfortunately the Best Buy warehouse decided to sit on the shipment for an extra day with no explanation, which lead to a wasted loss of a vacation day, as it was delivered a day late.

I feel as if this player is overpriced, but good luck getting a similar player for less. I wanted something to send Dolby Atmos to my Marantz 8012, and I got it. By the way, I can actually tell a difference in the superior video quality, too. I'm satisfied, but I just wish it had been cheaper.

Excellent blu player Dolby Vision is a must have best player I’ve ever owned

It may seem like discs are tbe old way of watching any sort of media, but really they are the superior way to watch. This specific bluray player is as good as it gets.

I finally made the jump to a dedicated blu ray player and I am happy I did so. I was running the PS5 and Xbox One X for a long time, they do fine but this is the way to go. The Sound is 100 times better and I would say the picture is twice as good. I love all the options the player has, and the build quality is great. A bit expensive, but it is worth it!
