    I purchased this unit because it was supposed to be among the highest-rated 4K players. It not only does an amazing job with Ultra HD discs but will take a simple DVD and bring out details I never thought possible. It is very impressive.

    I was impressed with picture quality, but if you have a NAS it may not be able to process all of you audio/video formats. 4k disc playback was amazing but I ultimately returned.

    Setup was simple, although it didn’t connect to the internet on the first try. Working fine now, updated firmware. Only have 1 - 4K title so far but played flawlessly. Steaming services work as expected. Worked perfectly with Harmony universal remote and hub.

    While there are definitely cheaper 4K Blu-ray players out there, none of them stack up to this one. Auto switching between HDR10 and Dolby Vision, no lip sync issues. HDR tuning and countless other features you won’t find in other players. As close to the Oppo players you’ll ever get with out forking over a fortune.

    This player support all kind of disc format you throw at it, 4K Blu-ray HDR10/Dolby Vision, Blu-ray 2D/3D, DVD and CD. I connected to my LG OLED C6 one of the last 4K Dolby Vision TV that support 3D along with Denon 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos/dts-X receiver.

    If you’ve bought into the 4K Blu-ray format and have a suitable home cinema set-up, you need a dedicated player that can deliver on multiple fronts. The Panasonic DP-UB820 is just that, supporting all major HDR formats, delivering a hugely immersive and impactful picture, backed up by a strong audio performance. At this price, it’s a great buy.
