It plays every 4k disc I put in. I had used a sony 800m player before but the sony player isn't as consistent as this one.

as the title says this is a terrible 4k player and here's why. since owning this player since dec 2023 i've added more then 20 + 4k discs to my collection. Everytime i try to play any of the 4k discs there is always i mean always cant stress enough ALWAYS a issue, from missing audio (rewind same scene and magic the audio is there) distorted picture ( again rewind same scene and magic picture is fine) from just black screen but you hear the audio to bamn picture is back (again rewind same scene and there's no issue) i bought this player as many of the neg reviews after doing my research and watching reviews on youtube. I truly believe any positive video reviews or at least half the reviews on here are PAID reviews. before anyone says its you're set up know this, i've tried multiple 4K HDMI cables, i went to the back of the LG OLED C2 HDMI ports, i've wired to the 4k port on the denon receiver. no matter how i set it up there is ALWAYS a issue with ANY 4k disc i try. Odd i put the same disc into my PS5 and have 0 issues (ive tried enough of them to know its the samsung player) Sadly to say this player is nothing more then a paper weight, while there might be a few (rare cases this works as it should in the reviews) i truly believe the reviews are paid reviews i say run run run away from this expensive paper weight for anyone wondering what about dvd's or blue rays, while it does seem to play them just fine (no issues ive seen) i bought this for the 4k disc to have a dedicated 4k player, as this stands i will be relying on my PS5 for 4k disc as again this is just a expensive paper weight. for anyone else DO NOT BELIEVE THE POSTIVE REVIEWS you'll be sorry

Gets the job and is good build. Its a little laggy on start up and the menu esthetics leave wanting.

Latest version of the firmware v1.69 is not compatible with DVD discs. I have tried 20 of them and they cannot read it. It can read any BluRay or 4K BluRay that I throw at it. Amazing video and audio quality. My 7 year old BluRay supports DVD, BluRay, and 4K Bluray. C'mon Panasonic...you can do better for a $400. Returning it immediately.

Only have one gripe information voice speaks to fast anyway of slowing this feature down other wise it's a good unit.

This thing is super slow. Hit the "internet" button and that's when you realize just how slow the menu system is. Why doesnt it play The Lion King bluray or UHD blu ray? Movie plays fine in my other players, but not on this. Yes I am using for most up to date firmware.

This is a big upgrade from my 10 year old blu ray player. I just wish it played more digital file types.

A little too expensive but worth it, I wish it also played saves and DVD audio, then it would have been excellent.

I bought this because it was greatly lauded for it's tone mapping abilities. I was using it with a 1080p projector and was hoping to open up the world of 4k discs with exclusive Atmos tracks. I spent significant time trying to get the various settings right, but ultimately found that the HDR -SDR conversion lacking, especially in skin tones. The greyscale performance was better, but the colors were just wrong. I've heard great things about this player, and perhaps it is very good on a 4k/HDR display, but it's not the best choice for down scaling. I also found the build quality to be a big let down along with the menu system being cheap and clunky. The apps (netflix and prime) would not connect either, so I was unable to utilize any internal tone mapping/video processing for streaming either. Audio performance was solid, perhaps better than the player I ended up with.

This unit plays 4K Ultra HD discs just fine. But, throw a blu ray in it and not so much. But, I read this is the case for many owners when I search for information online. There are some hacks that I have tried to allow the standard blu ray discs to play. That works for some, not for some. About a 50/50 chance. I would expect the potential of this issue at a much lower price point, but definitely not for a player over $300 USD. I’ve checked the region codes, not the problem. I’ve updated the firmware and tried everything I could research online and find for a fix. Nothing seems to work. I’ll most likely be returning it.

Quite expensive for my liking but I’ve been wanting a 4K Player and this thing is amazing! Image is superb!

A great 4K player. Decent price on sale. Wish they delivered with a box around it.
