Battle system is not my cup of tea but story and world is good. I wish to see another Paper Mario like the original. When will that happen?

its not thousand year door blah blah. i get it, i cherish that game. nintendo doesn't rest on its laurels. they change things up and take risks and all gamers are better for it. they don't, however, typically have strong detailed narratives with alot of their IP's. This is a mario game with a solid story and some great translation / localization / writing. overall i have enjoyed my experience and feel it was worth the 60$

What a fun game. It’s the challenge I wasn’t expecting. You’d think this would be an easy game and you’d be wrong. If you fail a level it will make the level easier. If you can’t be a boss it will make the boss easier. So there’s hope for kids. It’s Nintendo, it’s for everybody. Had a blast, good installment of paper Mario.

It’s been since the SNES days that I’ve played paper Mario. And this is a great take on a modern classic. The quirky and charming world that Nintendo brought to life has its light hearted humor and great design to thank for carrying its adventure with an interesting and unique combat system. Music is great too. As a top Mario title, what do you have to lose? You know it’ll be worth it.

Paper Mario is nice rpg game that tries to change the formula to try new things but its falls short on keeping you engaged at certain points of the game

Fun game overall. Story is good but I don't care for the new Battle System. Also miss the diversity in characters; need to add new ones.

If you are looking for a rendition of previous titles in the franchise this game is not for you. The puzzle system for battling has some elements of past mechanics, but is mostly reinvented. There will be some instances of Mario having to use his classic jumping skills in real time to defeat an enemy. If you are looking for a brave bold new adventure to embark on with an old friend, I highly recommend.

I Personally have played Paper Mario since "Gamecube " and "Wii"..This version is Beautiful in color and Storyline. The only bad thing I can say about this game is that you cannot transform into the walls!!..This was Paper Mario to me but maybe I'm wrong and you can, I'm only 3 hours into the game but man is it fun!!!

So a lot of people dislike the combat system, and I will agree that it can be a bit tedious for a lot of the battles are exactly the same. However, the boss battles show the potential this new system has and are very enjoyable. It has good story telling and some of the party members you encounter make you feel attached to them and their story, even though you only are with them for a limited amount of time.

Everything about this game was well done except the combat loop. The puzzle element was interesting, but removed any other variety that could have been possible from game. I still found it worth it to complete despite the weaker combat than other games in the franchise, but found combat to be very repetitive after a few battles.

Really fun (and cute!) mario game for the Nintendo Switch. It's not crazily in depth but there are some decent puzzles in this game and you will need to switch it up to defeat different enemies. I could recommend this for pretty much anyone. Nintendo (and even more specifically, MARIO games) are always a safe bet to be good solid games.
