The Origami King is a good time! While it can be a bit slow to start, the gameplay is fun and creative. It’s a simple combat system that not only has RPG elements, but puzzle elements as well. The story is an engaging one, my favorite of any Mario game personally. The best part is the writing though, as the comments made by the side characters had me laughing 100% of the time.

This game is very fun to play. It has a unique battle "puzzle" system that is different than any previous game before it. Yet, it still has that Mario game feel. Many hours of play, I have had this since it came out and I have not finished the game but I can already see a lot of replay value.

Love, love all types of Mario games so took the plunge into Paper Mario. Loved all aspects of the game, the boards, the puzzles even the animations. Didn't love the battle system and certainly was frustrated by it at times. The game did offer power-ups and other help options to get through some of the more challenging battles so you won't get stuck at all. Overall enjoyed it!

I have to say this game is surprisingly good the open world feel and the graphics are great and colorful the only complaint I have is the combat in this game compared to previous paper Mario games it's not the worst but more of an annoyance to do.

If you like the paper Mario games . .you'll know what to expect here, specifically around art style and battle system....and that's both good and really mediocre (respectively). But it is still fun and once you get your head around the battle system....it can be at least a charming little waste of time!

This is an excellent game. It’s my favorite Mario game on the Switch. Don’t let negativity on the battle system dissuade you. The game is great. It has one of the best OSTs of all time. Just buy it, you won’t regret it.

Game is OK I can’t go to say that this game is amazing… Because I didn’t grab me and kept me playing… I suppose I keep expecting a game like Mario RPG for the super Nintendo… This one just doesn’t suffice… It’s still a great game… And if you like Mario.., you will like this game

If tee up only playing a little bit of TTYD so I didn’t have much to base on going into this game but so far I’m loving it. Coins don’t seem to really matter which is sad but other than that the game is worth picking up.

I bought this game for my fiance's birthday and he just loves it! I haven't played this Mario game before and have to say it's very addicting and cute to play! It also makes you think about the puzzle battles. Definitely a great gift for someone or purchase for yourself!

I was really looking forward to this game because I have always been a fan of the original Paper Mario on N64. However, this game removed the best elements from the original and doesn't offer anything new. There is no real reward from the battles with common enemies, so I found myself getting bored with the enemy encounters early on. Also, the original N64 version had "badges" that you collected throughout the game and each one granted you a unique ability. There is nothing like that in Origami King, and it feels more like you're just walking through the game with no real strategy. Maybe if you have a young kid who is just now getting into video games they would enjoy this game, but I'm not sure how anyone who regularly plays video games could find this game fun. Origami King severely disappointed me.

This game is adorable, charming, funny and polished to the Nth degree. But I think your enjoyment will all come down to whether or not you can appreciate the very unique battle system, which is more like a timed puzzle and less like... well, anything that’s come before. Overall I like it but I’m still not sure I’d ever want to see this battle system again.

This was purchased for my daughter. My daughter really likes this game. It seems like a lite RPG for those who may not like some of the more intense RPGs with more mechanics in place. What can I say, Nintendo rarely makes poor in house software.

Overall the game is very decent and mostly enjoyable. My strongest criticism, and it could be bias since i grew up in the 90s playing rpgs as well as the first couple paper marios, is the battling set up, which is bascially half the game, is nearly pointless. You do not gain any experience points or level up your character when you win battles which makes it feel so pointless playing the game. Im not sure if they did this to cater toward little kids or something because whether you fight one enemy or one million, youre the SAME exact "level". Some people might not care but im constantly asking myself "why am I wasting my time with this game?". Thats honestly my only complaint but its a big one since its half the game like i said. The story, characters, graphics are all great like every other paper mario game.
