Fun but not as fun as Color Splash according to my 8 year old. Cant blame Nintendo for trying. Still fun to have more Mario games around.

My son & I are loving this game! It's hard to go wrong with a new Mario game, and this one does not disappoint. It looks fantastic, the game-play is classic 3D Mario, but with a 2D twist and I love how clever and fun the dialogue is from the Toads and other characters. Finally, unlike a lot of recent games, this one looks like it'll be decently lengthy. Well done, Nintendo!

Every Paper Mario game after The Thousand-Year Door has been divisive amongst the series' fan base because they change up the formula. This one is no exception, and the battle system and visuals are an improvement over Color Splash and the signature quality writing is nearly just as good if only slightly less hilarious. Only downside is the last quarter of the campaign that gets a bit tedious. Still, ignore the doubters, this remains one of 2020's best games.

Yes it is not the original paper Mario but it is great none the less! Loved the story and humor. Finding all the roads was not tedious like other games where you have to search for stars or moons. The only issue I have is the replay value. Don’t see myself picking this game up again. I beat it and there is not really an incentive to get 100%. Came really close but that was at first play. This one issue really isn’ta reason not to get it though. Overall got my money’s worth.

As with all paper Mario games, the writing in Origami King is hilarious and incredible and the visuals are wonderful. This game is so much fun and I would say the only drawback for me is that they could’ve done more with the battle system. The system itself is super fun and clever, but without traditional RPG leveling up and things like that, sometimes it’s easy to overlook the battles. That being said, super enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend.

Paper Mario Origami King is a welcome return to form! No longer much of an RPG, but still an enjoyable play with great dialog and a fun story. The regular battles grow tiresome sometimes as you are no longer gaining experience, but the gorgeous visuals and storyline make up for that. Would recommend for any fan of the Paper Mario series.

This was my first Paper Mario game. I was completely blew aback by the great dialogue, attention to detail, and engaging gameplay in Paper Mario Origami King. I sunk 40 hours into it and it was an engaging, enjoyable experience all the way through. I'm glad I picked this up! Some folks have complained about the puzzle-like combat being a grind, but I never personally felt that it got too stale. I never fled from a battle, and I didn't even use much of the items during combat. I stuck to the variety of boots and hammers for the majority of the game. If it felt too challenging, there were options to get the toads you rescue throughout the game to help out and you could always tank the damage and heal up after. Others weren't too fond of the boss designs, but I thought they were on point and made each boss battle unique! I was especially surprised that the game didn't feel rushed towards the end, and instead discovered there was even more content to go through! Overall a 5/5 game and hoping to see a sequel for the series!

My son and I played through this game together, and had quite a great time. It had quite a lot of entertaining characters, funny dialogue, and interesting puzzles! As a note for parents, it is necessary to read the character dialogue to understand the game, but with some reading assistance, this is a game that even very young gamers can enjoy.

This game is definitely the classic adventure that you find in the Paper Mario series. I haven't played since the Paper Mario 64 version, so I had some high expectations. Unfortunately, the new battle system breaks away from traditional RPG leveling up and grind, and instead works in its own way. A solid game, but little to no replay value.
