Interesting series progression
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't played Paper Mario since the original, and these games are like night and day. Origami King is a puzzle adventure, which is fine for the most part, until you get into any battle (don't even get me started on boss battles)... There are plenty of witty puns and cute conversations with NPCs. Beyond that this game is barely enjoyable.

Love the Mario Franschise
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paper Mario is a really unique and fun game for all. My family was really excited for Paper Mario on the Switch and Nintendo did not disappoint. Not only does it look amazing, but the game play is great and there are a ton of different objectives to keep the game going well past just beating the boss.

Another worthwhile Paper Mario adventure
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the previous two Paper Mario's (Sticker Star & Color Splash) were all right but didn't meet the high standard set by the earlier ones, so far The Origami King is hitting all the right notes. Looks to be a very exciting and fun-filled outing this time and a great addition to the Nintendo Switch game library.

What an amazing, funny game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is hilarious. I play while my five year old watches with glee. There is quite a bit of text to read, which is annoying for a small child. However, the story and the colors and the game play are all very engaging for any age.

The next step in the paper Mario timeline
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The paper Mario series constantly reinvents itself like a lot of Nintendo's first party games and this one is no different. The combat is new and refreshing although a little bit strange and takes a little bit of time to get used to. Definitely a good buy for any Mario fan and especially for paper Mario fans.

Happy I bought it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those of you afraid to buy this game due to the last 2 stinkers in the Paper Mario series (Sticker Star and Color Splash) don't be afraid to jump into this one. This one is a step in the right direction back to the classic Paper Mario we've all grown up with and love. Definitely enjoyed the game.

Great fun that continues the spirit of the series!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thoroughly enjoy the Paper Mario series and though I wish that we could have a game that mirrors a lot of the qualities that made the first two games excellent and classic, I have enjoyed this game immensely and appreciate it's keeping with the spirit of the series. A must for any Paper Mario fan.

Just avoid, it’s not worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was 1 hour away from beating the game and I couldn’t bear the thought of launching the game one more time. The fighting was a DRAG, the humor was amazing for the first maybe 2 hours but it got repetitive and annoying after that. Other than mandatory fights, there’s literally no reason to fight. If I could avoid an encounter, I would. The story was interesting and the visuals were gorgeous, but you may want to avoid this game. I lost it when a strategic boss fight turned into a game of luck when Nintendo thought it would be cute and funny to have the origami hand decide he wanted to play Rock Paper Scissors as his phase 2 in the boss fights.

Not an rpg but a great game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first few paper mario games were rpg games, if you go into this thinking it's a rpg you're going to be disappointed. There is no experience points or anything like that. But it's a fun adventure game with great writing and amazing visuals. The combat is more a puzzle than anything and things are broken up with a significant amount of one off fun set pieces like theatre, boating, and more.

Best Paper Mario since Thousand Year Door
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game in the paper mario series. Much better then previous entry color splash on the wii u or sticker star on the ds. Well it is not thousand year door sequel we want. It was still the best once since. The battle mechanic different but in a good way. Well worth picking up

Not too bad
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Origami King is taking a step in the right direction. It’s a gorgeous game, with a great soundtrack and interesting mechanics and story. Of course the battle system can be 50/50 and the reintroduction of partners is nice. Even though they aren’t permanent or controllable. Overall I am having a good time with Origami King.

Great Game
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good on this game. I have been enjoying it more than the other Paper Mario sequels. It is still not quite as good as Thousand Year Door, but that set a difficult threshold to meet. It took some time to get used to the battle mechanics, but they add a fun twist to keep things interesting.

Cute, fun, challenging at times
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love, love all types of Mario games so took the plunge into Paper Mario. Loved all aspects of the game, the boards, the puzzles even the animations. Didn't love the battle system and certainly was frustrated by it at times. The game did offer power-ups and other help options to get through some of the more challenging battles so you won't get stuck at all. Overall enjoyed it!

It's Fine I Guess??
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On its own, Origami King is a perfectly fine game. But as a Paper Mario game, it's kind of middle of the road. Not as bad as the last few in the series, but still nowhere near the level of the first three. Any long time fans of the series probably already know this. The battle system is the weakest part.
