Had great reviews, but took 3 days for me to get used to Windows 10 and get all set up. Worked swimmingly for one morning, then the video card went and I had to return the unit.

I bought this tower in November of 2016 I have had nothing but issues it freezes and wont let me do anything I have to turn the PC off by holding the power button. HP wont do anything about it. All they want to do is charge me for "a 3 year protection plan" they are not interested in helping me at all. Call Geek Buddy and all they want to do is charge me $300.00 to look at and fix the issues I Will never buy a HP again!!!

I purchased this product on 11/12/16. On 12/8/16 I spent 45 minutes on a chat session with HP support and I now am receiving a box to send it to HP for a 3 week repair. This means since my purchase it's been at HP longer then it's been at my house. I understand things are possible with tech items, but the machine will not even power on so the issue is certainly hardware related.

Great Deal for an i7 Computer

I would recommend this computer for someone who is in college or someone who still needs to be connected to their office at home. Disclaimers: This is not a gaming computer. I can not play Fallout 4 on it because of the Graphics Card. So I bought an XBOX for the purposes of gaming. For the price this is a good computer, and paired with the IPS LED monitor is excellent. For home use I have no problems. I can listen to Pandora while working, I can write papers, memos, and do basic office work from home as needed. Is the fan noisy? I guess I noticed it as soon as I set it up, but after 5 min I already am used to it. I don't hear it over music or normal traffic. At night when everything is dead quiet I do hear the fan but as it's not in my bedroom I don't suspect will wake anyone up. I also purchased the warranty so I overall am satisfied knowing that I have a computer which suits my needs and that it will be covered if anything happens to it. I purchased this computer due to dropping my notebook computer off the table and replaced it with a desktop model.

So far so good. Just purchased yesterday and set up last night without any issues. Not much bloatware. Within minutes it was cleaned up and ready to go. Nothing extra offered beyond the standard Windows 10 but what do you want for something with Black Friday pricing? The specs on this are good. Fast and plenty of storage. I too (like the other reviewers) noticed the sound of the fan when it starts up, but I also have another older desktop running nearby which causes the same level of a low humm in the background (so nothing unusual). Too early to know much but so far pleased with the purchase.

    Smooth Running Computer

My 8 year old HP computer running Vista Windows had seen it's day. Was a good computer but it was time to retire it. I purchased this Pavilion w/i7 Processor because I wanted a faster one then my old one. And this is definitely a faster - smoother computer. Windows 10 needs getting use to but it was the same when I bought the one running with Vista. The computer is fast. Plug & Play as they say. Once hooked up to the Internet every thing came together without a hitch. Even my new HP printer took less then 10 minutes to hook it up to this computer and it printed great on the first try. (I still used a cable hookup vs wireless)Seems easier.. at least to me. Feedbacks regarding a load fan noise doesn't exist on this one. In fact, I sometimes put my hand in front of the fan to be sure it IS running...its that quiet. The cons of the computer relates to Windows 10. When you sometimes go to open a file you have saved from your old computer you get Windows 10 asking you go to their store to see if you can fine an app available, which of course, they want you to BUY from Microsoft. I haven't had to purchase one as of date because I was able to open the files using free apps that are available if you just take the time to search for them. All in all I feel I got a decent computer for what I paid for it. There were much more expensive ones and many cheaper ones but I wanted a good computer running Intel's i7 Processor..their latest and greatest. I'm not a"gamer" so this computer suits me fine. Highly recommend it.

I bought this PC on sale for $499 which is a really good price for an I7 6th gen. Contrary to other reviews the unit is whisper quiet. Internally it has only 2 SATA ports so you would have to remove connection to the DVD to add another internal disk. There are 2 memory slots so I'm not sure if these are 2x6GB DDR4 DIMS or 2x4GB and on board 2GB? Video ports include 1 VGA, 1 DVI and one HDMI. There is one slot for a video card if you choose. The I7 CPU is is a 6700T which is clocked lower (2.8 Ghz) and uses half the wattage as a I7 6700. A nice office or gaming PC

Very fast machine. Good for the price. Has noise as common desktop PC but not a big deal to me. This is probably the best i7 quad core desktop deal of 2016 Black Friday.

You can't beat this computer for the value. I paid $499 for Black Friday and at that price point you could never purchase a better unit. I plan on doing a few upgrades to make this computer even better, although the modification possibilities are somewhat limited by the size of the unit. But right out of the box the specs are sufficient for ANY/EVERY average user. Even someone who plays light online games could use it out of the box with no issue. Also, fan noise has not been an issue for me, so earlier reviewers must have gotten faulty units. Mine doesn't make a peep.

    GREAT WORKING UNIT

I purchased the unit the first day it went on sale and had it sitting for the last 2 days. I read the negative feedbacks and said "oh no" but hooked it up anyways. Maybe I bought the only quiet one in the bunch because mine has no fan noise and works great with no delays. I am not a gamer so this computer is already perfect for my needs. Was on all night and Unit is very fast with no delays. Arrived back home from work and still no loud fan noise

    Powerful PC for good price

Computer is very fast and very quiet. Love that is has the new DDR4 2133 memory. Ran windows updates, everything looks good so far (bought it two days ago). It only has one expansion slot on the mainboard even though there are two expansion holes in the back of the case (so be aware if you are adding your own card/s). The case is actually quite compact roughly 6.25"x12.5"x12" (WxHxD). The hard drive is a nice Toshiba 7200rpm, 6.0Gb/s, 64MB cache drive. There are two memory slots one with a 4GB and one with an 8GB memory stick. The WiFi is the postage stamp size card on the mainboard, Intel model 3168NGW. The integrated Ethernet port is Gigabit Ethernet (yeah!). The DVD drive is flimsy so will need to be handled with care. I am very happy with this product so far. * It has two video out (1xHDMI and 1xVGA).

NOT A GAMER PERFECT FOR MY EVERYDAY NEEDS

I made a purchase the day prior on 11/10 for an Asus that had less memory and a slower hard drive for 50.00 more. I returned it on 11/11 when they put this on sale and switched it out for this model. I have no complaints so far. I think it works well. As for the fan, I really don't hear it, so I am good. The good thing is that you can always add enhancement. But overall the specs are real good.

Nice I-7 Workstation for the Price

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Finding an upper scale desktop for a reasonable price was pretty near impossible. Size of unit is not objectionable and I also must have gotten one of the "quiet" models. Once bloat-ware was removed the unit performs well and makes a great multi-task workstation. There could be more expansion possibilities but for the price this is an excellent value machine.

So far this has been a great computer. Mine is really quiet. Not sure what problem the other reviewers are having as far as being noisy. Mine makes almost no noise at all. Seems fast too.
