Great design, lacking features.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the design of this and had hoped it would suit my needs, however, it was lacking. I wanted a controller with the ability to reprogram the back buttons and remap the buttons on it however I wanted, but it was not possible.

Not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Controler has to be connected manually at each use and doesnt default to being the primary controller. Setting it up was difficult and I ended up going back to the regular system controller out of frustration.

Not programmable!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine but doesn’t have the adjustable buttons and other features that the Nintendo controller has and I’m sure it’s Nintendo playing games!

Switch Controller
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent but not great controller. Only downfall is if you touch a button the lights will stay on for some time and drain the battery.

Not worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not recommend. Controller's cool but it's not worth the price. You can find controllers that light up on Amazon for around $20 with a rechargeable battery. There's no rumble and no game that I tried worked with a motion controls. You're buying a glorified RGB controller. Don't get me wrong the RGB is one of the nicest I've seen on a controller. But that's all it has to offer.

Solid, basic controller with a few extras
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm enjoying the controller enough so far, and can at least recommend it as a basic controller for anybody to use. Setting it up for use is easy, as all it takes is pressing the sync button on top for it to connect to your Switch in seconds. The controller also has a nice weight to it, feeling solid and not "cheap" or feeling like it might break if you look at it funny. And while the fancy lights don't really have a function outside of aesthetics, they are a neat addition that can be customized slightly. The downsides are minimal but noticeable. First off, the instructions are digital only, but they can at least be accessed through the QR code on the back of the controller (though the risk of it wearing away is there). There doesn't seem to be much of a way to track how much power is remaining, at least as far as I've noticed. If you have a rather lengthy gaming session, I would recommend plugging it into the included USB cord just to be on the safe side. On a related note, it doesn't seem as though there's a way to replace the internal battery, so I'm unsure what the overall lifespan of it is and what you're supposed to do once it eventually runs out. The controller supposedly is compatible with gyro settings, but I have not been able to check this myself to know how well they work. I attempted enabling this on Fortnite, to no avail. You might have better luck with this, but even without it, the controller's basic functions work as they should.

Doew not sync with Switch 2.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item does not sync with the Switch 2. Even after following the instructions, using the cable that came with the controller & the cable that came with the switch. It does work on the orignal switch.

Good, comfortable controller for Nintendo Switch.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PDP - Afterglow Wave Wireless Pro Controller with Motion for Nintendo Switch is a good, comfortable controller with some neat lighting and other features. Following are my observations after using it several times: - It comes packaged with a 3.3' USB-C cable. It needs to be charged out of the box, but it will last up to 20 hours on a full charge. I like the rechargeable feature, so I don't have to constantly replace batteries and it lasts long enough to cover multiple gaming sessions for me, before it needs to be recharged. The function button blinks red when the battery is getting low. - It was easy to pair with my switch device and the wireless connection is good for up to 30 feet, which gives me far more distance than I need in my living room. - The back paddle buttons can both be programmed to use for whatever function you want them to control and you can reprogram them for different functions based on the game you are playing. - This controller is comfortable to hold while playing. It has textured, non-slip grips. It has a good solid feel and weight to it. - The buttons are responsive and the motion control is smooth. - This controller has 8 RGB lighting zones with 4 pre-set modes - Wave, Breathing, Static and Stick, or you can customize the lighting, colors, and brightness, or you can turn the lighting off. I mostly got this controller as I like this style of controller better than the standard controllers that came with my Switch and find it easier to hold and use while gaming, plus I like the wireless feature. However, the lighting options are kind of cool, even if you only want the lights to be on solid and not flash. I kind of like the option that pulses to my use of the joy stick. It's nice to be able to customize the lighting colors and brightness however you like it. Overall, this is a good controller and I feel it is improving my game play on my Nintendo Switch. I recommend this to anyone with a Switch device.

Not quite Pro
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty decent Pro controller substitute that has the added benefit of RGB lighting. Battery life and connectivity seem to be decent, and the build quality is, for the most part, respectable. I found the button controls and thumbsticks to be a little squishy, and have to wonder how well they'd perform in any game that requires you to repeatedly hammer the B button or rapidly throws stick left and right to shake off an enemy. They were better than I expected, but there's a little looseness that makes me a bit apprehensive about how they'd hold up under pressure or over the long term. The weight and handling is decent, and the plastic is is sturdy (without reaching the brick solidity of the Pro controller build). Triggers and D pad also seems to get the job done without any issues. The lighting is neat, but unless this is an absolute must for your controllers, it doesn't add much to the experience *while playing.* You're looking at the screen or monitor; not your hands. It's still impressive to marvel at from time to time, though. The customizable buttons on the back were kind of a miss for me. Maybe I have large hands, but I found them to get in the way of a more firm grip on the back. These could come in handy for some games, but their placement on the back is a bit regrettable. Overall, this is a step up from most third party Pro controller-type controllers, but still noticeably weaker in some respects than an actual Pro controller. If you want durability, good construction, and just the best controller for playing your Switch games, then get the Prom. If you don't mind a little button squishiness and really want that RGB lighting (it is pretty), this is a good alternative that's almost as good as the Pro.

Super Showy Switch Controller
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's face it: dominating your friends in Super Smash or Mario Kart is only so much fun with the normal switch controllers... but let's say you could blue-shell your way to 1st place with a glowing blue controller? That's a whole new level of "in your face". In terms of fun and cool factor, this controller fits the bill nicely with some different pre-sets you can engage at the click of a few buttons. You can also customize the back buttons pretty easily to have different functionality (PDP puts the manual online so it's easy to figure it out even though there's minimal documentation included with the actual device). Functionally, the controller does exactly what you want it to do: it's responsive with motion controls and all the standard buttons are snappy and have a good feel. It's hefty without being HEAVY. There's no rumble/vibration response as far as I can tell, but I kinda prefer that anyway. The controller is VERY comfortable in terms of ergonomics, but I did have a tendency to click the back buttons on accident pretty frequently... especially when picking up or setting down the controller - there's no "safe" way to pick it up without accidentally firing off one of the buttons. I did notice I was able to play longer with this: my hands did not get as tired or cramped as they normally do with the standard two Joy Controller setup I play with. Setup and charging time were very speedy, but as others have noted, there doesn't seem to be any battery indicator on the device. So far I've gotten several hours of play out of a single charge, lights blazing. My default is to plug things in every few sessions anyway, but the lack of some sort of wireless charging option is a little frustrating when so many other things are heading that way. I don't like having to keep track of yet another USB-C cable. One of the bigger problems with this controller is that your kids will insist they get to play with it, so... you're probably gonna want more than one if they game with you. Overall, this was a nice addition to my Switch.

Reliable and Stylish Wireless Controller for Switc
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PDP - Afterglow™ Wave Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch™ is a visually striking and comfortable controller. The design is impressive, with vibrant lighting that adds a cool aesthetic touch. The controller feels great in hand, offering a comfortable grip during extended gaming sessions. In terms of performance, the button and joystick layout is intuitive, ensuring a seamless gaming experience without any unexpected actions. The battery life is commendable, lasting through 2-3 hour gaming sessions without any issues. Charging the controller after each session ensures it's always ready for the next use. Wireless connectivity is reliable, with no lag or connectivity issues even at a distance of 15 feet from the console. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy feel and good weight, indicating durability. All components, including buttons and joysticks, have held up well over time. While I didn't utilize the programmable back buttons, the RGB lighting zones were a fun feature to customize, allowing for a personalized gaming setup. For the price, this controller offers excellent value, especially with its wireless functionality and comfortable form factor, which is a significant improvement over the OEM controllers. Overall, the PDP - Afterglow™ Wave Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch™ is a great choice for gamers looking for a reliable, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable controller.

Great Pro Controller for Nintendo Switch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PDP - Afterglow™ Wave Wireless Pro Controller is a great controller. I like the buttons, which are large and flat, and have a satisfying response and click. Likewise the control sticks are offset like other Switch controllers and feel good to use. They are responsive and have a good tactile grip making them comfortable to use. The grip of the controller feels comfortable overall. It’s smooth on top with a hashed grip on bottom and the controller is a good size for my large hands. The Dpad also feels good and is responsive. There are also 2 programmable buttons on the bottom of the controller if you like that configuration. The controller has motion control for games like Tears of the Kingdom and Mariokart 8, but the controller doesn’t have rumble features. This controller is a bit heavier than my other 3rd party pro controller, but that’s actually good, because it feels sturdier and more substantial in my hands. The main selling point for the Afterglow Wave controller that sets it apart from standard pro controllers is the LED colors. The colors are cool. You have multiple options for color and glow patterns that allow for personalization. This is especially nice for couch co-op sessions where you might want to set yourself apart from other players. Overall, his is a great 3rd party pro controller for the Nintendo Switch that feels good to use and features fun customization.

Cool RGB Budget Friendly Controller
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller plays just like a regular switch pro controller from Nintendo with the added benefit of programmable back paddles and cool RGB lighting. Connection was quick and simple so you'll be gaming in no time. I did find that this controller felt a bit heavier than a standard pro controller from Nintendo which you can probably contribute to the bigger battery on the PDP Afterglow. The PDP Afterglow has a 2100mAh rechargeable battery which can provide up to 40 hours of gaming but I have yet to run out of battery life while playing Zelda, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros for the past week. I also haven't noticed any quality issues with lag which I have experienced on other third party controllers that I stopped using for that reason. The PDP Afterglow has motion control capability and although it works I'm not a huge fan of it in some games. I usually turn this feature off while playing Mario Kart. Overall, this is a solid controller to have especially if you're on a budget and want the added coolness of RGB and ability to program the back paddles.

Cool Light Effects, Good Grip & Feel
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I like the best about this controller are the different colors and how they are displayed on the controller in a “wave” pattern, as well as glowing around the two joysticks. Very cool looking! You can pick and choose and customize the light effects and the back buttons. Of course it is wireless, with a good long range, and has a built-in rechargeable battery that utilizes a handy USB-C type connection. I also take comfort and assurance from the fact that this is an “official” Nintendo Switch licensed product, so it should pair and work flawlessly with the Nintendo Switch, which it really does. There are no printed instructions to be found in the box, which is slightly annoying, but there is a provided QR code that you can scan to download them. After that, easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy, you are good to go after a simple and quick, easy pairing process. The feel of the controller while playing is quite good; it fits nicely into your hands where you can get good positioning to reach all the buttons and the joysticks with ease. Excellent ergonomic design.

Out of the box improvement to controls for Switch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PDP - Afterglow Wave Wireless Pro Controller with Motion for Nintendo Switch is a handy little controller. For the adult gamer with bigger hands it really affords you a better level of control that what comes with the standard tiny Switch controllers. Those little things always frustrate me. Having a normal sized controller really improves my gaming experience. The controller is easy to setup right out of the box. It is wireless and works at about a 30ft range. The grips are textured to afford you a level of non-slip comfort. It has a rechargeable battery built-in and so you can easily charge it up between sessions. I got roughly 20 hours of usage out of it on a full charge. The controller comes with built-in RGB that you can customize to make it a little more stylish than a first party controller. And finally it comes equipped with additional buttons on the back that you can customize and map to various functions in game, giving you additional controls beyond the standard controllers.
