Still the best Smartwatch so far

So far, i think pebble still the best smartwatch. A lot of tech enthusiast and media also agree with it. Pebble has the best battery life, easy to navigate, and a lot of good apps inside. Yes it doesn't have a touch screen or even colour on the screen, but it gives you the best functionality as a smartwatch. With the price, i'm very satisfied with what i got. I use Pebble everyday, maybe until Apple Watch is released, maybe.

I did a lot of research for a smart watch and decided on the Pebble. For the price I say you can't beat it. Does everything I need it to do. And that is alert me when texts and emails come it. Don't have to pull my phone every time I'm alerted. Would highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for an affordable smart watch.

    Best Gadget EVER!!

Pebble is one of the best gadgets you can buy. I love being able to read texts and emails on my watch. Being able to pause and skip music is GREAT! Caller notification is extremely useful, and I can ignore calls without having to take my phone out of my pocket. Alarms, Timers, and stopwatch all work great. The amount of watchfaces you can download is insane. You can have a different watchface clock for whatever mood you are in. Vibration is extremely useful for all the notifications and that the watch is waterproof is icing on the cake. I had all but given up on wearing another watch on my wrist, but with Pebble I couldn't be happier. I get tons of comments from everyone that I meet. Most can't believe you can get texts and emails on a watch. Also my battery life has been excellent. I can get 6-7 days on a single charge. I even have one Pebble for work and one for home!! If you're even thinking about getting a Smart Watch, then look NO further than PEBBLE!!

    Best smart watch out there.

This Thanksgiving I set some time to try all popular smartwatches out there. I tried the Metawatch Frame and Strata. The software for both is poorly developed, but I really liked the use of real glass (not plastic) for the display of these devices and also their water resistance. Unfortunately the Frame's buttons appeared loose and one of them regularly got stuck when pushed, which I found unacceptable for a $170+ device. The Strata's buttons worked better, but this device is not really very attractive. The best feature of the Metawatch family by far is the always-on display technology, but unfortunately the resolution is not great. What really kills this product line is the very limited capabilities of the support software. I tried the Sony Smart watch 2. Unfortunately I quickly realized that the device is bulky, and the screen is plastic, which will make the unit look really bad after a few weeks of normal use. The unit also charges with a micro usb, which concerns me for a watch. The best feature of this unit is the fact that the display is always visible and is color. I tried the Samsung Galaxy Gear, but quickly realized that I could not live pushing a button/shaking my wrist to see the time on my watch (yes, I can force the display to stay on, but that kills the battery and makes the device too distracting in public or dark places). And, yes, all the features are nice to have, but if the device fails to be an efficient 'watch' then I rather take my Galaxy Note 3 out of my pocket to see the time, and I won't need a Galaxy Gear, After I tried these, I finally tried the Pebble. I had read poor reviews in terms of quality of workmanship, which are mostly correct: the first unit I bought came with a damaged display, and the device feels cheap and will scratch very easily. That said; however, the Pebble has buttons that work as expected (not loose or prone to sticking), and the software, both on the watch and on Android devices, does exactly what it needs to do efficiently. At present, the only device that offers a good balance of features without loosing track of its primary function (being a wristwatch) is the Pebble. The only issue I see so far is cheap build quality. In fact, I would gladly pay another $50-100 if I could get a Pebble in a metal / ceramic case with a mineral glass (Corning Gorilla Glass anyone?), but that would bpe having your cake and eating it too! Perhaps the second (or third) iteration of these devices will get them to where they need to be, or perhaps Apple and Google are already adjusting their designs for early 2014.

I was a kickstarter backer and use with the iphone5. Caller id works, text works, music control works and answering or decling calls work. Email notifications do not stay working and must be continually reset. The screen scratches VERY easily. Do not wear it until you have put on a screen protector! Skinomi is the brand i use. Overall i am very happy and like using the watch. I'm sure when apple and samsung get in the game this will be an afterthought.

    Love my pebble

I love getting notifications on my watch and not having to take out my phone. Works flawlessly with Android and iPhone but there is more customizability when used with Android. I had an issue after a firmware update and the company paid to have me ship it back and sent me a new one. I don't know how the return process through Best Buy will work though. There are people leaving poor reviews because their watch has taken a long time to ship. This is because they pre-ordered special colors. They had the chance to change to black to get it quicker, but decided to wait instead. They shouldn't review a watch they don't actually have. And they shouldn't be angry a pre-order with no guaranteed ship-date is taking a while. These watches sold by Best Buy will ship quickly.

Easy to use, affordable, great starter smartwatch for both iOS and android users. I'm a huge techie and figured I'd pick up one of these prior to the new pebble coming out and I love the e-paper display for a few reasons. Amazing battery life, easy to read in all lighting, and clean look. Ready for the pebble steel time to give the apple watch a run for its money!

I just picked up the Pebble Time and I really like it. First of all, you cannot compare it to the Apple or Samsung watches. If you are looking for a high functioning smart watch you should not buy the Pebble. But what it's made to do the Pebble does very well. I can receive notifications for phone calls, text messages, email, and other various notifications I receive on my iPhone. There is no sound, but the vibration alert works well. The Pebble is simple to use and has lots of apps. I bought it to use at work so I do not have to pull my phone out of my pocket every time it vibrates. For someone who wants a basic smart watch to keep track of their phone notifications, the Pebble is well worth it.

Great for a test run on the wearable tech

I wanted to give the wearable smart watch a try. I text 90% of the time when I need to communicate with people. This is great for a text lover. For the price of 90$ (Discount)it was well worth the purchase. Any other watch I buy usually costs me 100-200$ so it was cheap. I wanted to see if the technology was worth using. I am a college student and father so it really helps knowing who is trying to contact me during class without looking at a phone. I love receiving my notification on my wrist. I haven't missed anything since I have owned the pebble. At first I would not receive all my messages and I came to the store and did an exchange. The new pebble works flawlessly. I love that you can see the display in all light settings and the very long battery life. It's practical and simple. I also love the subtle vibrate on the wrist. It is easy to feel when you have a notification. It works great as an alarm for me to wake up. This device charges quickly as well. It has apps that seem useful for those that are interested in those things. The apple watch will do many many things but I am not sure if it would be wise to invest 350$ on something I never tried. That is why trying this for the price was a good milestone. Great device. If you miss notifications and it acts weird just go to the store and exchange so you can get the real intended experience. Questions I didn't get answered before I bought it: Can you send text and make a call: unless you jailbreak an iPhone you can't. On android you can. Can you keep a log of contacts and missed calls: not on the iPhone. But you can on android. It's disappointing that the iPhone doesnt allow you to use some features android users can since I own an iPhone but I really don't care that much. iPhone is better when it comes to not having 3rd party applications running on the phone.

I'd say for anyone that can easily navigate their bluetooth, smartphone menu's and app store this is a great purchase. I'd recommend anyone that's curious at least pick one up, Best Buy has a 15 day return policy. Pick one up, and try it out. If you don't think it's worth it just return it. I can easily see in a few years smartwatches will become a common sight. I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could. It's not perfect, but it's very good at what it does. Great: nav directions, text, email, phonecalls on my wrist, ablitity to launch/control any music player, and song info displayed on the screen. Quick preprogrammed text responses (only takes 3 button pushes) current uses: I'm on my way, Can't talk at School/work talk to you asap, Okay, Hey Whats up?. Might not sound like much but it's much more convenient than typing them out on my phone. Not great: obviously the plastic band it comes with isn't flashy, but you can get a replacement for it fairly cheep, and a non-centralized app store means you have to search for apps.

    Few complaints, love it

Bought it because I drive a lot, so switching songs is wonderful while I don’t have to constantly pick up my phone. Notifications work well, when iOS is behaving. I'd like to think some of its shortcomings can be fixed in the future. Such as, connecting to 2 phones like some BT headsets can, auto reconnecting with paired device, Siri activation, and custom vibration profiles. The hardware quality is solid. The BT range is very good. With a BT headset and pebble, I can really cut down on ever picking up my phone. Most of the issues people raise generally comes from the iOS notification failings and iOS device not having enough RAM. The feature set is limited compared to other smartwatches, but battery life and reliably will win out.

    Love my Pebble

I am a Kickstarter backer and got my Pebble back in March. I have thoroughly enjoyed this smartwatch! I love the community around the watch with constant updates and tons of watchfaces and even apps. I charge the watch at night and never have problems with the battery, even when I went on vacation for a week without my charger. I use the watch all day to view text messages, see who's calling, and control Spotify, DoggCatcher (podcasts), Audible (audio books), Moon+ Reader (ebooks), and Google Music. I did wish it could display the author/artist for things other than Google Music, but I'm sure that's coming. The only thing I would warn buyers about is to be careful not to slam your arm into walls, it can scuff the watch.

    great extention of phone.

First and fore most before buying this you must understand that it will not replace your phone, it is simply and extention of your phone. Overall I'm very happy with my pebble. They have plenty of apps available now. It seems like a good amount of people have issues with the battery and I'm not sure why, I easily get a weeks worth of use from a charge. I love changing the face of my watch, I like glancing down and seeing the current weather info. Pandora now has an app that is cool, any time your phone is playing Pandora you can see who is playing, thumbs up or down and pause the music. Seeing incoming calls and having the ability to reject from the watch is nice. Reading texts is another plus. I do not have emails pushed to my watch personally. If your looking for a solid watch with plenty of features this is a great one to have. The only reason I didn't get with a Samsung gear watch is because I can't have cameras where I work. If you want the same features with a color display (a day some new features the pebble doesn't have) check out the Samsung Gear 2 Neo.

I got a black one, and it's awesome. Backlight automatically turns on when the watch is shaken, draining battery fast. So i turned it off, and battery life lasts about 4 -5 days. There are not many apps to use with this watch, but apps like Misfit, timer, Pandora Remote Control, and Evernote are useful. Obviously, it's great I don't miss texts or calls from others. It''s a great smartwatch for the price!

Pebble does exactly what it claims to do

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Like other reviews, I was one of the early Pebble adopters. My huge smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Note 2) now stays more often in my pocket because Pebble notifies me with a vibration whenever I get a text, a call, or an email. Pebble also lets me adjust my phone's volume, know the current weather and temperature, and keep track of my walking and biking pace/distance/elapsed time. It's obvious Pebble is shaking up the market or else Apple, Samsung and Google wouldn't be developing their own smartwatches. As for the tech support complaints posted here, I can't speak for that as I've had no reason to need it. By turning my Pebble off at night, it easily lasts 6-7 days on a charge and completely recharges in a couple hours. So I am 100% satisfied with my Pebble.

    Great Product, More to Come

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This watch in itself is a great tool. It's very useful and expandable to fit your needs, with many different applications and watchfaces created by talented developers. The only issues I've seen is that turning on the backlight creates discoloration on the screen; the two sides of the screen closer to the side edges appear yellow, whereas the center is white, as it should be. I've had the watch for about 3 weeks and this is a persistent issue. The day after I purchased the watch, black marks that appeared to be dead pixels began to appear at the bottom of the display and inched their way up. I was not worried, because I purchased the replacement plan. I'm almost certain that this is an issue with LCD displays in general, but it didn't matter, because the screen cleared up in three days. The display scratches very easily, so I would recommend a screen protector. At certain lighting angles, the display will appear to have rainbow coloring, but this is, again, an issue with LCD displays. The buttons feel mildly cheap, but I'm okay with this since it contributes to the 5 ATM water resistance. I usually 4-5 days of battery life, but I use the watch a lot. The vibration is solid, and sometimes I feel it when I don't feel my phone. On iOS, you have to toggle the notification settings for any app you want to receive notifications for (except for Messages and Phone, with Mail coming next update) on the watch every time it disconnects from the iPhone. However, I don't find this to be much of a hinderance, because it only takes about a minute for me to toggle all of my 72 apps. The watch itself has a lot of potential with software updates and apps, making it much more than the out-of-box experience. Overall, I would recommend the watch if you are someone who wants a glance of things to come and an extension of your mobile device. I'm sure there will be much better products in the future from larger companies, so if you're not sure, then I would wait for those.

Excellent smart watch. Before getting one, I thought smart watches were just a gimmick, but after purchasing this and using it for a week, it's been amazingly simple. The epaper low power display with the always on display is what I love and the long battery life. What keeps this from being a 5 star is the inability to reply to ios texts/messages.
