Had it been $300 I would have returned it but for $150, I like it. I don't understand people who criticize the aesthetics. It is cool looking to me and looks of good build quality. If you sit through lots of meetings, this thing is essential. I like it though it doesn't do too much but what it does do it does well. Sure when the Apple watch comes out with SIRI baked in, I'll discard the Pebble but for right now, I am quite pleased.

Amazing Addon for your Smart Phone

I've had my Pebble Smart Watch Since mid February and I haven't taken it off since then. I absolutely love it. Controlling my music, getting an overview of messages right on my wrist avoids a lot of unnecessary "phone out of pocket" situations. I've found a couple of great apps that I can't live without. Glance for Pebble gives you time, weather, sms, gmail count right on the watch face. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.finebyte.pebbleglance Simply Alarm Holo with its watch app allows you to set multiple alarms and countdown timers and they can be dismissed and snoozed right from the watch https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.rebootsramblings.simplyalarmholo Get a skinomi screen protector to avoid scratching the screen.

I was fortunate enough to have been a "Kickstarter" backer and have had this smartwatch since February of 2013. It has a lot of potential with embedded technology that has not been enabled yet but will be with future firmware upgrades and application integration. I love the ability of of getting text and email notifications right on my wrist without me having to pull out my phone to look to see if important. The same goes for recieving phone notification and the ability to accept or decline a incoming phonecall. Another great feature is the ability to change watch faces and even customize. There is a watchface website where the community contributes to new faces and apps. One final plus about the watch is that I am able to control my music playback via bluetooth on the watch as weel. Makes it easy to change songs, etc while driving. I do recommend a screen protector.

Great smart watch! It's waterproof which is great and has battery life that lasts over a week. Works with any smart phone. You can customize it with any standard 22mm watch band.

I am really enjoying the Pebble because it is not replacing my smartphone. It's nice to get notifications and just take a quick look on your watch. The pairing and managing of apps is really simple. The batter life lasts between 5-7 days.

It does what it does very well...and does not try to be something it shouldn't be. I've actually written a few test apps for it...very easy to do...and I can see where this is going to be a must-have for folks (like myself) that gave up their watch when they got an iPhone. Now I can see who is calling (and answer/ignore from the watch), texting or calendar appointments without having to remove my iPhone from my pocket. Also shows the weather if you load one of the many apps available. The watch is very nicely designed, and it's really more of an extension of my iPhone than just a watch. Also, it's water resistant to 150 feet so no worries about sports and such. Oh, and it tells the time as well!!!

I picked up the Pebble at my local Best Buy 4 days ago and so far so good. No technical issues that have been reported here. I'm using the iPhone with iOS 7 beta 3. All notifications work fine (e-mail, sms, phone calls etc). Pairing the watch with the iPhone was a breeze and I was up and running quickly. After a exploring for a few minutes, my first impression was "That's it?". At first it seems like there is nothing much to do with this watch. When I got home however and started exploring the different web sites that contain watch faces and apps, everything became clear. There are tons of things out there to load up on the watch. The pebble forums are a great place to start. Go there first to start exploring. Over the past few days I have been discovering the usefullness of the pebble. My phone pretty much stays in silent mode most of the day. The pebble vibrates whenever I get notified of something so there really is no use for the sound on my phone. Great for not bothering the people around me. In daylight and when under bright lights, the display is very clear and easy to read. In the dark, the backlight is perfectly fine for seeing the display. To save battery life, I turn my pebble off at night (I don't wear a watch at night anyway) and do not have the "shake to light" feature on. Seems like a waste of battery since I'm shaking my wrist all the time. When I receive a phone call, it does give me caller ID (name and number). Others have reported here that they only see number only. For some reason I don't have that issue (iOS 7 maybe?). Overall, I like the watch. Not sure it's worth $150. Maybe $99 would be a better price tag but no big deal I guess. I know this is the first generation of these watches but a color screen would be a next logical step. It really needs it. The B/W screen feels outdated. I recommend picking up the pebble watch if you have the funds and are willing the play around with what is probably the future of watches or even mobile phones for that matter.

After the 15 dollar rebate Best Buy was offering around Christmas time - I paid only $135 for this watch. It is very well made, and it does exactly what it is advertised to do. It recieves text messages and phone calls - and allows me to control my music (iTunes) library... all without taking my phone out of my pocket. Very handy in my line of work where I am not supposed to be using my phone at work! But now I can at least see who is calling/texting and decide if I need to take a "potty break"! I also LOVE the way it works with my RunKeeper app - that was a bonus. Oh, and the watch faces are pretty cool too.

I love this watch. I looked at the assign gear and the I watch and the mito360, they all have one problem battery life and too much to them. The pebble is simple, it works well with my phone, and lasts a week. My only issue? I wish I had waited for the Steel.

I purchased my Pebble via the Kickstarter campaign (note: some features may have changed since then, but I have not seen nor heard any evidence of this) and thought it was a cool watch. I have worn it almost daily for about a year and here are some observations: The Good: - The watch is stylish, people comment on how cool it is regularly. - Apps are great- Sbux app allows you to go to Starbucks and scan your watch instead of your gift card or gold card. This is impressive and reduces pocket clutter. Another app that I like is called Morpheus- it tracks sleep patterns using the accelerometer and tells you the amount of different types of sleep you got based on your movement. It will also allow you to set a wake up range so that you are not in deep sleep when your alarm goes off. There are a ton more apps and more every day that help make life easier in little ways. - Handy alarm. I set an alarm often for a reminder and it is subtle as it only vibrates your arm. This way my wife does not stir when I wake for work. - Never miss a text or call - this watch lets you know when texts, emails (if desired) and calls are coming in. I often will answer the call when the phone is still in my pocket, allowing me time to get it out or go somewhere quiet enough to talk. Also handy when hands are wet, or you don't wish to miss the call. Reading texts is helpful and aside from not being able to reply to them, it can be a subtle and useful tool during meetings or other places where it would be inappropriate to bring out a phone. - Control music on a run or while driving. I can have the phone in my pocket and control the tunes without dragging my phone out. This is great when skiing and gloves have to come off and on to do it otherwise. - Flashlight: with a shake of the wrist, the backlight comes on and can help find keys, see items on the floor at night or check on the baby sleeping with a soft and gentle light. Automatically dims after a configurable amount of time. - Weather apps- always know the time, temperature and forecast on your wrist. Very useful (chews up battery life). - Golf GPS- this one is useful to know the distance to the hole you're playing. Load up the courses on your phone and sync with the watch. Requires connectivity to the phone (very heavy on the battery) The Bad - BATTERY LIFE stinks for both the phone and the watch. I often go on business trips for multiple days and often need to have brought my charger. This is quite possibly the worst part of the watch as many times you end up disabling features to lengthen battery life. But without those features (i.e. bluetooth) it is really just a watch. - Scratches easily. I am admittedly a bit tough on a watch, but not so much that the numbers are hard to read. This watch claims scratch resistance, but be warned- you can't use it in everyday life without some damage. It is much less resistant than most. - Cheap band. The silicone band is simple and not very exciting, but already after almost a year, it has cracked at the line where the tail end comes out of the buckle. I guess it dries out over time. - Faulty watch band pin keeper. The little holes where the watch pin is held and enters into the watch is only cheap plastic. With a slight pull, you can pull the pin easily out of the watch, which then falls to the ground. I was putting on a coat once, and the watch caught my sleeve and the watch fell to the floor because the plastic was misshapen. Once it happens the first time, beware- it will happen again. - Frequent disconnects from phone. This happens a LOT and is in need of some serious attention by the developers. You cannot really count on a steady connection to the phone, so it should never be used for really important tasks- you just cannot depend on it. When it disconnects, you either have to manually do it, or hope it tries it on its own. This is something they are trying to fix but has been an issue since the beginning. Bottom Line: These watches still have some way to go before they become a mainstay in my world. Battery life of my iPhone5 is HORRIBLE when this is connected (even when new I found myself charging 2x + per day). I might recommend this to a friend, especially one that is tech savvy (for troubleshooting and reconnections) but might advise them to wait for another year when better options are released (Apple and others are entering the game).

I have been researching for a month after trying the Galaxy Gear Watch. I really like this Pebble watch over all other watches I've tried, it really saves me from getting in trouble at work in my meetings, The screen does not light up the room and make it obvious something is going on on my wrist like the other phone wanna be watches. In the past my phone would go off contantly and yes I could have turned it off but I work late hours and have kids in different sporting events that I can't make because of my work schedule. This poistion I have is a new promotion I just got and cant take the time off yet to be with them, so my phone is my line of communication with my wife, kids and friends. I love it that when they call or text I can see it on my wrist and with a special app I installed I can reply with predetermined text right from the watch and call them when I'm free. I did try the Galaxy Gear but the band did not fit my wrist and samsung has no extension for the wrist band. Also the Galaxy Gear and most other Smart watches are not water proof and for 299 thats really unexceptable. The pebble is simple in all possible ways plus is WATER PROOF NOT JUST SPLASH RESISTANCE. I just needed an extension to my phone not replace my phone. If I need to take a picture I can pull out the phone. Why would I want to do that with my watch, I actually think is creepy, I dont need one on my watch like the Galaxy Gear. The only thing I wish the pebble did have is a mic. so I can answer that call when I'm in the shower or driving and cant get to my phone. There is a learning curve to this watch but that applies to anything you get that is new. I really recomened it. Seem that the company pebble is ontop of this watch and always improving it sending updates when needed.

I almost didn't buy this watch because some of the reviews were so negative...but I figured most people only write reviews if they have something negative to say..so I bought the watch a few days ago...and I love it! It is the coolest watch I have ever had. It's comfortable and the watchfaces are really fun! I learned lastnight that if I shake my wrist, the auto light comes on and i can see the time in big numbers in the dark. I downloaded the stopwatch to it...and the pebble plus app....which lets me find my iphone from my watch. i also synced the watch with my runkeeper program so i can see my mileage on my wrist while running or riding my bike. My wrist vibrates when i get a message or a call and shows the number. However, despite all the amazing synching with my iphone...I would love this watch just as a watch! waterproof, attractive and super useful. One note: due to the negative reviews I did purchase the best buy additional insurance program for $19 for two years. And now I'm totally not worried about anything with my watch. If the display or battery go bad (two main complaints)...I'm covered..as I understand it and I just go back to best buy and they give me another one. Overall, so glad I bought the watch!

This was a christmas present. It has been fun to use and very functional. It is great to look at your watch to see who is calling you instead of digging in your pocketbook to find out who calling. The weather on your watch is nice.

Went back and forth between this and Galaxy Gear; glad I made this decision. The watch is stylish and functional, and is an excellent introduction into the world of wearable technology, for the fraction of the cost, a much longer battery life, while offering a more balanced choice. I switch phones often and am not stuck on Samsung - good to know my watch will work with other devices on well. Regarding the concept of a smartwatch - shockingly useful. I am an admitted gadget freak, but the concept of wearable technology is really, truly hear to stay - getting notifications on your wrist even when away from your phone gives me a peace of mind (missed calls when expecting calls). Many other scenarios. Go for it, you will wear it everyday.

I like my Pebble. I have sleep apnea and I use my Pebble nightly to track my sleep pattern. Because of the Pebble, I now have good information that has led me to make changes which have improved my sleep. The only negative is that the face is very easily scratched. You MUST buy the optional screen protector.

Although there were a lot of reviews complaining about poor screen performance, I decided to take a chance and get one anyway. My screen works just fine. There are also a lot of complaints about how easily the watchface gets scratched. I've bumped mine into a wall, and the mark rubbed right off. No, it's not a sapphire crystal, but it's also not a $300 watch. Using it with iOS does take using some workarounds like installing the httpebble helper app, and it still doesn't work as good as it would with Android. However, It does work really well with various music apps for displaying and changing the current track, and it works well with notifications. Just being able to see text messages without taking my phone out of my pocket is probably worth the price, but there are a couple of great watchfaces that show weather information along with the time and date that seal the value for me. Until Apple comes along with something better, this is the smartwatch to get.

The Pebble watch is nice and works as described. Getting text notifications on your wrist is nice but you can't respond. You can only cycle through and discard the messages. My favorite feature is getting a watch face that has the temperature and weather on it. Overall, this product is nice if you really want a smart watch. I just don't see myself using this everyday. I probably would feel the same about any smart watch on the market. Even the Apple Watch. I just don't see the point of "smart" watches when your phone is in your pocket or purse and easily accessible. I'd rather use the big screen the phone has to offer then some tiny display that offers "limited" app features. I'll stick to my classic aviator watch over any of these smart watches for now. If you really want a smart watch though, this one is cheap and it has some okay features that some people may really like. It is love hate honestly. I love technology but some things just aren't practical and that is up to everyone individually to decide.

I've owned this watch for a couple of weeks. I can confirm that battery life is indeed 5+ days depending upon usage; this beats most others hands-down. Also, there are many apps available through the Android app store. My only real complaint is the overall quality, especially the display and plastic feel. On several occasions, the display has become garbled and difficult to read. Hopefully it's not a permanent defect in which the watch needs to be returned. Also, the plastic material used for the housing could have been a bit more durable and compact. At this point, I think this is a reasonable starter Smartwatch that's worthy of about 3.5 stars.
