They appreciate the convenience of receiving notifications, controlling music, and installing apps on the watch. I just love my pebble. This is my 2nd pebble. I love the steel one because it has premium feel and design and on top of that it is waterproof and has inter changeable belts and works with both apple and android devices.

    Solid Implementation of Basic Functions

I have been eyeing the Pebble for quite some time. The setup is quick and easy, although I recommend using the App to pair the watch to your smartphone. I configured some options and quickly the watch was showing the information I desired - without taking my phone out of my pocket. It's not the Apple Watch, but it also doesn't have the same price tag.

Ok watch for notifications, has some issues

I like how it works for notifications. Wish it did heart rate. Biggest issues is if the watch and my iphone get separated, it does not reconnect Bluetooth LE. I have to forget the pairing and re-pair. I like the e-ink screen, easy to see and crisp.

Awesome watch with not too much nonsense

This has been an awesome watch thus far. Watch works great and does what it was said to do. I get all my notifications that I set to receive and keeps me up to date with out always pulling my phone out. I would give 5 stars but pebble now decided that one strap was enough and force you to buy the metal band that also previously came with the watch. Great watch tho!

Good watch, if you want this sort of thing

I like this watch, and it does what it says on the box. However, I returned it. Why? It just didn't feel like something I wanted to keep. I liked the sleep and activity tracking, but I could do that with an activity tracker instead. I wanted a watch to tell the time as well, and I liked the fact that it works with Android's SmartLock feature, allowing me to swipe my phone lockscreen open without putting in a code. But after using it for 2 weeks, I found the notifications unnecessary, as I usually have my phone in my pocket, and I would feel my phone vibrate and the watch vibrate 1/2 second later. On top of that, I just don't need to see all my texts and e-mails that immediately, since I can just get them on my phone. I did use the text template a few times, allowing me to reply to texts with a canned message ("OK", "Sounds good", "I'm running late") straight from the watch, but that wasn't really something I needed. I liked how it showed my progress when I went running, but sometimes I just want to run without having too much information directly at hand ("only 1.2 miles so far - I'm exhausted!") Finally, the style just wasn't me. I like a round, traditional analog dial, and while I was willing to try something new, the dimness of the face of the Pebble means that to most eyes it looks like a wrist computer more than a watch, even if you put the analog watchface on it. I think I'll spring for a Withings Activite Pop if they have worked out the manufacturing defects. I don't really need the notifications and other apps (I loaded ESPN on the Pebble, but still checked my phone for sports scores during NCAA March Madness). It's a perfectly good device though, if this is what you're looking for.

Easy to use. Easy app downloads. Stays charged for several days. Only complaint is needing to charge it at all, would be nice to have easy text back feature.

Best smart watch out there - so far

    Posted .

This watch is great, it does exactly what you need from a smart watch. It gives you the time (on a number of different watch faces), it tracks your steps (with either Misfit or Up), it works with both iOS and android, it allows you basic control over certain apps (pandora, music, phone calls). And the battery life is the best out there 3-5 days average so far.

What I needed but a bit buggy with Bluetooth

I'm really enjoying the email and text notifications, when they work. Unfortunately the Bluetooth needs to be re-paired every 2-3 days without notice. Love the timer app for BBQing. The dual time clock came in handy with my trip to Vegas. All in all, a well spent $150.

    An excellent smartwatch werable device

Works excellent for me, dont need to take my iphone out of my pocket any more to see a message. All notification at your watch. Works excellent with a bluetooth ear hands free. Battery lasts 5 or 6 days depends of how much you use it. at 20% it sends a message, but you can survive with that 20% all day. At sun light woks more than excellent. Cons. you can only upload 8 faces.

    Slick, smart and cool

I love this watch but gets only four stars for two reasons: Pros: Lightweight. The leather strap is by far the most comfortable strap on a watch I have ever felt. You can literally sleep with it on. The smart watch concept is good for your health. It alleviates anxiety of your phone being away from you and you will avoid the dull pain in your hands from years of playing with your smartphone just to check for notifications. The watch is always on. At the least you can tell time and the accelerator is really fast. You can use with Apple and Android. Cons: Bluetooth range is low. You need to be near your phone to get notifications. You can't finish reading long notifications. You get just enough to know whats going on.

Works just as advertised. I get all my iPhone notifications on the watch including those from apps like breaking news, etc. The watch faces and the ability to change them is unique and I can change them quickly depending on my mood. Overall a great peice of tech.

    Love it!

I am a huge fan of my first Smart Watch... the Pebble Steel. It feels great on the wrist and looks great. I love the fact it works with either Android or iOS. I'm using it with iOS. The touchscreen and color might be nice on the Galaxy Gear... but the sunlight readability of ePaper is second to none. And the buttons on the Pebble are intuitive and effective. The iOS app itself freezes up occasionally... I believe because it is waiting on a Bluetooth response from the watch, but I'm not sure. Also, I've had some issues with the apps crashing or losing connectivity, but not too bad. I wish Best Buy would put these out on display. People need to play with these to make a purchase decision and for a wearable item, buyers need to try it on and see how it feels. Thanks to your 15 day no questions asked return policy, I still felt comfortable purchasing without this luxury.

Good for notifications and not much else

I bought my Pebble Steel as a smartphone accessory. I am often in situations where I cannot hear/feel notifications or cannot see the phone. It works as advertised for this. I am disappointed with most of the apps; the quality of which reminds me of the good old days of the Apple IIe. The app store is only available thru the Pebble phone app and rarely provides enough information to make a good decision about an app's usability. The Pebble Steel is quite stylish. I got the silver one and put the wide, silver Kreisler Tech band on it. I have received several unsolicited compliments on it.

Bought it for a Christmas present, and my nephew loves it. Notifies when he gets an imessage on his ipod. Just wish that it can answer calls and messages. Overall, good for a 10 years old boy.

David Beats Goliath - The Pebble Gear S Killer?

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

"We own 3 Pebble Smart-watches. Ive owned 2 Samsung Gear S Smart-watches." -There are some very big difference between smart-watches right now. Most of them are terrible due to a big technical limitation. The 'Pebble Steel' cannot fly airplanes , drive cars or watch T.V. What is does do however what it does well. Part of the reason is its the only watch that can. -GEAR S KILLER? Simply flicking the screen around on the S-GEAR-S for just a few minutes always caused overheats to "911 emergency calls only". I could run the battery down in the GEAR S in 40 minutes or less. I didn't work if you sweat, it got very hot, you could not get it wet in pool or ocean or spray (nor would the screen work anyways). Charging was awkward and ineffective with its pronged plugin. Strap was uncomfortable. Its requirements for power along don't match the room needed for a better battery so the watch is worthless even though you can make a call without your phone. Cool feature and it did work. Your severally limited by privacy, weather and power though. Frustrating and then there is dealing with the phone company and the 400$ price tag.. -Here what i do with my Pebble Steel - Initiate a phone call, (Like if I was too busy to get out my phone), Send a preset text (95% of most text are the same, easy to answer quick response), Control my music on my phone, (volume, skip, info, album), Check Calender, Take photos from phone (great for remote shots), Stocks, Weather, check and receive emails and texts and notifications from every app i want on my phone. 150 feet under water, shower with it,, gorilla glass....Its last almost a week under heavy use.EASY EASY TO SEE outside and in places. Lights up too..The dedicated buttons make the touch screen hassle a thing of the past..Yep i can go on but,, There is something else. There is another reason why this watch is my choice over all the others. The Eco System that comes along with Pebble is a kind and helpful community. The Developers are always involved with its customers. Its been a fun adventure unlocking the watches secrets and learning how to make it better. Love Making my own watch faces and designs. $150. Does what it say. The others dont.
