Best smart watch for your money

I looked at several smartwatches and for what I want out of smartwatch, this is it! for $150 it's much better than spending $300 and having to charge your watch every night. This watch is always on and the battery life is about a week and I get quite a bit of notification on mine. You can't make phone call on the watch but lets be realistic who really wants to stand there and have a conversation through your wrist. During the day time in the sun is awesome unlike most smartwatch that uses LCD you can't really see it during sunlight and there are tons of free applications for the watch as well.

    A re-evaluation; it's fantastic

On 7-17 I wrote a review, said the Pebble Time was only a 3 star product due to font size, light intensity and time the light would stay on. I said the original Pebble watch was better and then I returned the Pebble Time, figuring that was a dead issue. Then, on 7-23 Pebble updated their software, addressing all 3 issues as there were many of us that complained. I also assume that it was a Pebble employee that let me know of these changes by a comment on my review (Thanks for that comment!) So I went out and bought another Pebble Time (thanks Best Buy!). The results are fantastic. Sure, the watch needs recharging more often than once a week now, but everything works great for me. Who would have thought their response could/would be so fast? I applaud the product, but I'm even more impressed by the company. What a quick reaction time! I just wish I could erase my 7-17 review. Since I am not able to rewrite it, delete it or correct it, I've written this new one. If you are worried about font size, light intensity or time of lighting, it was resolved on 7-23-15. Any complaints prior to that date were before the upgrade. You shouldn't see those complaints any more. I would definitely recommend this product!

Nicest, most comfortable smartwatch out there

The Pebble Time is my GoTo smartwatch. I own the Basis (original and 2nd version), the iWatch, and the PebbleTime. I decided to buy the PebbleTime after watching Pebble's CEO, Eric Migicovsky, being interviewed on This Week in Startups. He seemed very intelligent, articulate and well reasoned. He conveyed a huge reservoir or positive energy. So I bought the watch. And I love it. It's light weight, and easy and fun to wear. I've loaded it with my Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts cards, notifications, weather and a few different faces. The watch face I use when I'm near my iPhone is Futura Weather. Otherwise it's Thin. The app universe is sizable, and I've just begun to take a wander through it. It's sort of like an Android phone in terms of the universe of users creating apps. The travel apps are the next ones to get loaded. At that point, I'll put my iWatch on eBay and say goodbye to it. It's just through and through a delightful watch.

    Fantastic Smartwatch Option

Pebble Watches were some of the first smartwatches in the market, and I think they'll be around for quite some time. Thin, great battery life, and now with Pebble Health integrated (tracks steps/sleep, works with Apple Health), the Pebble Time is a great device. Plus it allows you to change songs on your iPhone, call an Uber from your wrist, and much more with the many compatible apps!

    I'm really enjoying this watch

This is my first smart watch. It is perfect for my needs. I wanted a watch that would give the time, date, and weather with a good battery life and notifications. And this does that and more. The battery lasts me 6 days before it needed to be recharged. The app store is OK, but it does have the apps and watch faces I considered important.

    Good Watch, Poor Screen

I bought the Pebble because I heard good things about its lineage. Plus, I have an iPhone and who wants to spend $400+ dollars on a watch that gets mediocre reviews at best? $199 for a true smart watch with a color screen sounds awesome! And you know, it truly is a good smart watch.... if it wasnt for the dimmest screen I have ever seen on any device. The backlight makes it a little better for only for 8 seconds tops. Outside of not being able to see it, its great. But whats the point? The sad thing is, I really have no other options for the iPhone.

Looks nicer but doesn't work as well as original

The Pebble Time has some nice new functionality such as the Timeline feature that lets you quickly see events/weather, and the color screen offers some nice new app and watchface options. However, it also loses some functionality and has much worse battery life than the original. My Pebble lasts about the advertised week without any trouble, but the Pebble Time is lucky if it makes it half that long on a charge with average use (20 or so notifications a day). Maybe some updates can address issues, but right now it still needs some work.

    Issues with iPhone

I've had an original Pebble for years & thought this new Pebble would be great, well not so much. I have an iPhone and frequently the Pebble only shows a ringing phone icon or nothing at all when a call comes in. Does great with email, text, other notifications. It's also a bit difficult to see, small font. I hear all the functions work with Android, but they don't with Apple products. I actually will go back to my old Pebble for now and get the Apple Watch next.

Great smartwatch that performs many functions

It's funny to read some reviews that critique the watch for not being what it was not designed to be. This watch is not meant to be flashy or to gain the admiration of your friends. It simply does what it sets out to do. I was the owner of a Pebble Steel and I upgraded to this one. After several days, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The big plus is that I can actually speak into it to send text messages, schedule something on my calendar, look at the weather forecast, set alarms and timers, operate runkeeper, read emails and text messages, and find my phone if I lose it. It does even more than this but those are the most important to me....besides telling me what time it is. I also liked the colors of the different watch faces. People can get very creative with their designs and it is nice to be able to upload them. Finally, the recent price drop pushed off the fence to go ahead and pick one up. I definitely do not regret it.

Disappointed After a Lot of Research

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I did a lot of research on smart watches and fitness trackers prior to Christmas. The one name I kept running across was Pebble, so I found the Pebble Time, which was in my price range, and purchased it as a gift. At first, it worked great. We were really happy with the ability to customize the watch face, the step tracking seemed pretty accurate, and text messages and phone calls came through at the same time as they came through on the cell phone. However, three days after using the watch, the screen went completely black. You could see the backlight come on, and it would still vibrate when any notifications came through on the phone. After trying everything we could think of, and any tips on forums that we could find (we found on forums that this is unfortunately a fairly common issue with the Pebble Time watches) we decided to return it and exchange it for a different smart watch or activity tracker, we haven't decided on which yet. The watch was just what we needed while it worked, but very disappointed that after three days we had to return it.

Love My Pebble Time (Android User)

I have nothing but positive things to say about the pebble time smart watch. It does everything you would expect of it, and it does it in a fun package that looks great in both casual wear and more business oriented attire. All in all its a great smartwatch that you should seriously consider of android wear (sure kicks the crud outta my moto 360) and the apple watch (never owned one so cant comment). All in all I love the product pebble has put out and im sure most people will love it to.

    I wanted to like it....

And I do sort of. But there are some issues. I own a black Pebble Time and the bezel scratches way to easy. I have used it a month and I already have some small blemishes. I have a 10 year old Omega watch that cost 60 bucks and it has no blemishes. What can I say? It is what it is. The other big issue I have with it is if you are driving into the sun or the sun is low enough you need to use your cars visor, you will have a difficult to impossible time reading the display. This morning I knew what the message said however I was not able to make out the text. Apple functionality is pretty much limited to receiving messages from the phone, you are not able to send anything back through the phone from the Pebble. Android is able to do more. So if you're an Apple user I would say pony up another 150 and get an Apple Watch. The glass is a dirt magnet. I go all day without cleaning my phone, no so much with the Pebble. My last issue is regarding ANY watch. I'm not sure I want anything hanging on my arm anymore. I am so used to nothing on my wrist that sometimes I find it very annoying and take it off. Even though it'll go a week or so on a charge it's still yet another thing to charge and I have enough things to charge. I would not recommend this to anyone. The technology while very cool in concept is a little rough in execution.

    Versatile Smart Watch

This watch is very versatile, with loads of options. It has gorilla glass so I am not afraid to wear it all the time. It's not 100% accurate, but I have yet to find ANY that is. You can change the watch face on it and the improved pebble app on my phone has REALLY made seeing my activeness and sleep times a complete joy. There are apps for the watch that you could play games on it as well, but as we all should know by now the more you put on an electronic the less the battery life. That being said I think I charge my watch once a week. You can also turn off less desired notifications (after the watch has seen the notification once). You can also use this watch for sending text messages (voice recognition) and it is pretty accurate. There is also a way to change the canned replies. One word of advice when changing canned replies. It will wipe all the replies out when you edit them, so be sure you know what replies you want to put on there because what you put is the only ones that will be on there.

    Good smartwatch. Irritating silicon band.

I like the Pebble Time smartwatch. It works well with Android, but had limited functionality using Windows 8.1 phone. There are a limited number of Apps, but many watchfaces. After wearing for about 4 weeks, my arm became irritated from the silicon band. I switched to a stainless band and the irritation stopped.

I like that it isn't very thick, and much cheaper than an Apple Watch. Doesn't do as much. But, this likely will score some wins this Christmas. Love that apps will mean something new about it all the time.

Pebble should have included a pair of glasses and a flashlight with this "watch" as you will need both to tell the time! The display is small and the backlight so dim it's difficult to see even in abundant light. The bezel takes up too much space which should have been reduced to expand the screen. There is a wide variety of watch faces, but again it's pretty useless if you can barely see them. The only positives of this watch is that it is light and comfortable. If you are considering purchasing a smartwatch, shop around. Take a serious look at the Asus Zenwatch 2 which is $50 to $70 less, has a large vibrant display, classic looks, a more attractive robust app selection and, a touchscreen!

I bought this pebble time over the iPhone watch but I am regretting it because all the features are not working. I can't answer or talk through the watch. I can't answer texts from the watch and I can't use the watch for anything other than notifications and watch faces. So how is this a smart watch??? The answer is that it in fact isn't!!!

    Battery life isn't everything

I was attracted to the Pebble Time because of it's battery life. After using the watch for about 24 hours I decided to return it. The biggest reason for my decision was the lack of integration with my iPhone. I was aware of this limitation before purchasing but it was far worse than I imagined it would be--especially notifications. The apps were also lacking. Both in quality and what apps are available. My phone battery also drained significantly faster when I had the Pebble paired. I ended up purchasing an Apple Watch 38mm. I have to charge the Apple Watch every night but it makes it through the day. Fitness tracking is better on the Apple Watch too. Overall the Apple Watch has served my needs better than the Pebble ever could have.
