The first in a series of three straight classics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A Tribe Called Quest is one of the greatest groups ever in hip hop, and if you own any of their albums, you know why. This debut album is so great to listen to. At first, I wasn't impressed by it. But after the second listen, I realized that it IS a classic. It was released in 1990 along with other gems that year, and ATCQ certainly made their mark. Here's the review: Album Highlights: Although there's no filler, the highlights are Luck of Luciei, Can I Kick It, I Left my wallet in El Segundo, and Bonita Applebum. Production: Thumbs up. Lyrics and Subject Matter: Thumbs up. Originality: Thumbs up. The Last Word: This is a great album, and you should own this it you currently don't have it. ATCQ only got BETTER as the years went by, and this album was a tremendous start in that direction. Strongly recommended.
