I'm not usually into JRPGs, but this is a great story and great gameplay!

If you're a jrpg fan this is definitely a must-own. To be fair I've yet to touch any of the new content, but the original P5 was already one of the best rpg games in recent memory. If you're not a fan of turn- based rpg gameplay this might not be the best choice, but absolutely everyone with any interest in the genre owe it to themselves to set aside 100 hours for this beast of a game.

Persona Five Royal is a really fun game. It introduces new characters and new story lines. Fans of the original persona five, will really enjoy this one.

If you loved the vanilla Persona 5, you will definitely love this one! The new additions and the re-designed dungeons makes it worthwhile and enjoyable to play as the Phantom Thieves once more! The gameplay definitely proves that turn-base RPG is not 'dead' and can still evolve into greater heights!

This game only adds to the greatness that is the story of Persona5. I love how in depth it gets and how everything is connected at the end. Wonderful buy!

Haven't played a Persona game since #3 but all the glowing reviews of this one (especially the Royal Edition) made me take a deeper look. The gameplay remains similar to what I recall from P3 as well as the overarching theme of building your team through relationships and empowering your Personas. The whole process seems thoroughly refined and, without having played the "base game" of P5, I can't adequately explain the differences between the versions. But I'm 20 hours in and perfectly satisfied with how my character is being molded and the party members are fleshing out, slowly but surely! A little slow to get started but addictive and managing your time wisely becomes a careful gamble of risk and reward! I can easily see this soaking up 100 hours or more, making it a great value as far as $ value is concerned! Even moreso, I'm not a huge fan of anime (western-style RPG's are usually my preference) but the game is wonderfully stylistic and doesn't get overly "anime-y" with the sometimes obnoxious character design/voiceovers, which is a plus for me personally. Definitely recommend, and will update the review as I get further in! A great deal at $30!

This is my first Persona game and while I was apprehensive about getting it I am so, so glad that I did. Since purchasing it I have spent way too many hours playing it and have not regretted any of that time nor do I feel like I am close to finishing with it yet. If you're on the fence you should get it. It is easily one of the best games on the PS4.

I love this game! Easily put more hours into it with all the new content. I played the original a couple years back and could definitely see how much it improved, although the original is great as well. As others have said, if you’ve never played P5 before then get the Royal edition. If you’ve played P5 before, and enjoyed it, get the Royal edition.

One of my favorite things about P5 is it has some banging music tracks. It matches so well to both its graphic style and to the character design. If you played Persona 4 Golden, this is a game for you. Where it slightly misses on the top tier characters P4G had, this group grows on you as well. Expect to drop a lot of hours into this game.

As someone who played the original Persona 5, I was reluctant to play through the game again, but I sunk in that 125 hours to clear this game. This is the whole Persona 5 experience on steroids. This is what Persona 5 should have been. If you are new to the Persona series, this is the best of the best and you will love the experience.

P5R is a great re-release of the original Persona 5 with more content, music, and characters. However its a bit disappointing that merciless difficultly was way too easy, but the story is still great.

Definitely better than the original vanilla version. If you haven't played the original game then lucky you, you can start out with this much better version. If you've played the original you can still play this, it's vastly improved and worth the experience.

The best modern rpg nothing short of phenomenal. Persona 5 royal for existing players can be best described as a directors cut. Faster load times, remixed palaces and some tweaks to mementos for starters. Even for newcomers the game is fantastic, well paced, well written and voiced, fun gameplay. I can't recommend it enough.

I played the original but didn't make it through the ending. This time I'll try to finish it. If you like long anime games where there's a lot to read and fun gameplay, this game is for you. Honestly, I just bought this version because was on sale and this version have subtitles in other languages besides English

I absolutely loved this game. It was a little slow at first, but once after the first palace it really picked up. It's long and makes you wish you had done some things differently because it keeps you on a time line that you can't go back on. So just be sure to have multiple saves at different times.
