This is my very first Persona game I've played. After searching for jrpg's on the ps4, I saw this and decided to try it after reading great reviews. So far I'm about 40 hours in and it's been a blast. Turn based battle, which has almost gone away, and interesting characters make this a great pick up.

Excellent turn based rpg. Over 100 hours of story and gameplay. New personas, characters and a third semester. Worth another playthrough even if you played the regular persona 5.

This is a wonderful game. They improved upon the flaws in the base game and the third semester (which is an extra 20 hours of gameplay) built upon existing characters to further flesh them out. I really enjoyed the aesthetics, characters, gameplay, and story. Although the opening song is not as good as the original one, it’s still really good and does a good job of showcasing the characters’ new outfits. I also enjoyed the free DLC pack that came with purchasing Royal (it came with outfits from the previous games plus new Personas). All in all, if you’re a fan of JRPGs, then this is the perfect game for you.

Few games have struck a chord as deeply as Persona 5 Royal has with me. This is, without a doubt, the BEST game on the PS4, and quite possibly the best game of all time. The story, the characters, the mechanics, the exploration, and everything else about the game are developed at a top tier level and perfectly paced and balanced. The epic 100+ hr journey gripped me from beginning to end, which is a miraculous accomplishment considering the fact that I barely finish games anymore these days. If you're on the fence about this game, don't hesitate for a second longer. Buy it!

Great update to the best rpg on the ps4. Has tons of new story / features to justify rebuying the game. New character and story arc changes the game in exciting new ways.

This was my first Persona game and I really enjoyed the playthrough. Great characters, story, and overall JRPG experience. A great 150 hours of content.

Persona 5 is already a phenomenal game, and this adds even more on top of it. It also looks and runs better. If you haven’t played Persona 5 and you like JRPGs, this is the one to get. If you have played Persona 5, then set aside another 100+ hours to play an even better version. I’m still incredibly disappointed that Atlus didn’t offer this expansion as DLC and instead charged full price for it, but it’s hard to argue with the actual quality of this product and the technical level improvements over the original. Especially when you can now readily buy it for the cost of a good DLC/expansion.

The amount of hours of gameplay you get from this game is insane. My husband and I are playing it together (he plays, I watch) and we are over 100 hours from the main plot. My husband doesn't normally care for anime or turn-based RPG games but he really enjoys playing this. The characters are charming, some more than others, and we love the storyline and progression. While the dialogue choices you make don't have a huge impact on follow up replies, they do have a lot of truly funny lines you can select and it's great hanging out with characters, especially Yusuke,

I’m only about 50% through and had to restart cause I made a fatal mistake but I highkey love Royal more than the original P5. The story goes much faster, the palaces take less time, there’s more places to take your confidants, it’s a very good update to an already fun game :)

Played the original through twice all the way and enjoying the game even more with the added content and gameplay fixes and upgrades. One of my favorite games.

This is the definitive version to play for Persona 5 i played the original when it came out and sank over 100+ hours into its engaging story line, i was hesitant to have another go, but this game is awesome the places where the story dragged originally has gotten sped up and with the added bonus characters i ended up at roughly the same time to complete, but was more streamlined and better. The Royal version also has a ton of enhancements from speed of battle, auto skipping and some great additions to just about everything the original lacked. Play this version of the game!

Got it as a birthday gift for my sister. She absolutely loves it! Very interesting story, and the gameplay looks fun! Overall, a great JRPG! 5/5 stars

Great game. I’m not even a fan of RPG’s but I loved it. The mix of combat and story is nice and it doesn’t lean too hard on either one.

Over 100 hours worth of gameplay, an incredible soundtrack to go along with. You may feel a little uncouraged to get into but it definitely pays off

Played the original and could not go on beyond 15 hours, got this one on sale and decided to give it another go. Having fun but seems identical to the first game if not for online reviews telling me what is different i would probably not notice.

One of the best JRPGS ever made. Great characters and soundtrack and 100+ hours of content. Must buy for fans of the genre.

My favorite gaming experience of this year. Adds a lot of great extra content on top of the amazing base game. Can't go wrong with this purchase!

My girlfriend has already spent over 40 hours on this game and she loves it! Everyone has a great story line and the combat is fun as well.

I fixes the few issues with the original making it more streamlined. The new additions are also great and the nee ending = amazing!
