this item did not work and was returned the day I purchased it.

The negative part, It's doesn't connect to the Internet.

We bought this because of a deep discounted price and reviews (here and elsewhere) that seemed to indicate the unit itself is good, just setup could be a problem. We got it set up okay, but then had issues. The player works okay but is slow and cumbersome. You can't alter the extra features (Netflix, Youtube) on the screen, or add others like Amazon Prime. That's all okay - we have a Roku. The big problem for us is that the same day we set it up, the remote stopped working completely, and without the remote, you can't use it. There are no buttons on the unit such as play or forward / reverse -- only on/off and open. We changed out the batteries - no luck. Called Best Buy - no luck. They just suggested we take it into the store (we don't live close) and exchange it. Fortunately for us, we have a Bose surround sound system - but it's an older one, so we had a hard time finding a code that worked for this Philips player. Fortunately again, Bose has excellent customer service and one call to them (at 10:00 at night) and they were able to help us get the unit programmed into system so we could work it with our universal remote. But if you don't have that option, and the remote fails for you too, this Blu-Ray player will become useless. I would really recommend that you stick with a Sony or other brand you trust.

I purchased this on a Deal of the Day at Best Buy to replace our aging Blu-Ray play that had many problems. It was easy and quick to setup (not to mention much smaller!). It functions seamlessly and easily. It's responsive and quick. I like the large icons on the popup menu, including the progress bar that can be easily added unobtrusively during play.

Bought this not expecting much, but I have to say, I'm impressed! The remote is great, feels good in hand and has every button you need and nothing you don't. The player supports HDMI-CEC, so it turns my TV on and switches it to the correct input when I put a disc in. Nice! GUI looks good and is faster than I thought it would be. It also has the more recent version of Netflix. Browsing through Netflix does bog it down slightly, but it's still WAY faster than I was expecting. And of course, it plays Blu-Rays without a problem. The front of the unit is kind of bland. No display, just a green light to indicate it's on, but that's really all you need. Would definitely buy again.

Works great for the low price. I don't have any blue ray discs to test with yet. But DVD looks great. Mu only complaint is if you break or lose the remote there are no buttons on the device to play a disc. WiFi works fine for me.

This needs a software update so it can play Hulu plus. Othere than that this is a quality player that is really nice when you hook up a usb drive to play videos. Just about every file I try to play on my sony blu ray player can't be played but this one can play them all.

Small form factor, easy install. Works as expected.

I tried every file possible; mkv, divx, avi, mp4, mp3, flac, wav, ape and more, it plays it all. It even play my wav surround sound audio music files. I used to use two players to see all my files, now only one. Wireless works great. Front USB works with external hard drive and flash drive.

I have had this for some time now. I use it solely to play MKV (h264 avc) videos from a USB stick and and MKV files stored on DVD. The device is slow. Very slow. Think 30-60 in order to turn the unit off; 15-30 seconds to turn it on and access a DVD or USB stick. The device cannot handle my external disk drives via the USB. While it sometimes will play a single file it crashes after than 100% of the time. Output is good and I'm happy with this unit for the price. I just wish that it had a faster processor and that I could access a hard disk directly using the USB port. I did use the Netflix app. for a short period of time and it was okay, but as with almost all built-in app. for DVDs and smart TVs they aren't as good as using a browser on a computer.

Just what I was looking for to make my TV a smart TV.

I bought one of these for $50. Plays with as good a picture, as any other, in my opinion. The menu on it is pretty straightforward.

Technology always comes easy to me, so I'm already biased with this product. Easy set up. Up and running in 15 minutes.

I love this player for the USB input. I also love the fact it will play any format of disc you put in. The file title display is good. All in all you would have a hard time finding a better player at any price.

Loving this player so far! Very nice picture and use the Netflix too! Highly recommend!
