This Philips Epilator Series 8000 for Women is incredible! I'm not going to lie, the first time I pressed this to my skin, I about jumped out of it (my skin that is)!! I didn't know what to expect, but after that first time, it was much, much easier. Simple to set up, this just needed a charge with the included cord. This contains a lithium ion battery that enables cordless use and is not to be used while plugged in, only cordless. And, it can be used both wet and dry so you are able to use it in the bath or shower or run it under water for cleaning after use. They do suggest that the discomfort may be less if used with water. I didn't try using water as I didn't experience that much discomfort. This comes with quite an extensive paper user guide (remember those accordion maps before GPS?) that shows numerous attachments, most of which are NOT included with this product. This model does include a "delicate area" cap for use on delicate areas eg: upper lip or underarms and an "optimal contact" cap for arms, legs, etc. I used the optimal contact cap on my arms and legs. Yes, as a woman, I have been blessed (!!) with hair on my arms. It used to be darker and thicker when I was younger, but it is still there. This would have been a blessing had I had this back then - this Philips Epilator easily, quickly and most importantly to me, completely removed the hair on my arms from my elbow to my hands. Yes, I felt it doing its job, but it didn't hurt at all. Same with my legs - with the optimal contact cap, you can sort of pull the skin a little tighter as you move and easily remove all the hair. An important note - exfoliating and moisturizing the area is very important to reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs. This is similar to the need to do the same after waxing. Versus shaving, epilating lasts (they say) up to 4 weeks, whereas with shaving you get little nubs the next day! You can easily remove the epilator head for cleaning after each use - then simply run it under water. With a very fast rotation and 32 ceramic (hypoallergenic materials) tweezers, the Philips Epilator Series 8000 is fast and efficient. It absolutely gets the job done and fast. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a hair removal tool for women. And it also comes with a pouch, which I appreciate.

Got this at the wife’s request. She said it works well and she found it comfortable to hold. It has a bright light so you can see what you’re doing. She said it is easy to take apart and easy to clean after using it. She experienced no skin irritation after using it. It can be used either dry or wet, she used it after a shower on dry skin. It has two speeds, the slower speed is recommended for sensitive areas. My wife has very fine hair on her legs, she said either speed worked fine for her. I can confirm that her legs are quite smooth. ;-) She said she tried it with and without the efficiency cap attachment and didn’t really notice a difference. She thought somebody with coarser hair might prefer using the cap. It comes with a narrow guard for more sensitive areas also, she tried it with and without the guard on her face to remove some little “peach fuzz” type hair and said either way worked fine. She said she preferred using it without the guard to get done quicker. Came with a storage bag also.

Initial opening: Upon opening the box of this Philips Epilator I found the unit itself, two attachments for different uses whether it was for sensitive areas or the optimal contact cap, a white travel bag and a charger. I like the fact it’s for wet or dry use. Huge game changer there. It has a little light that turns on with the power button that lights up the area that’s in use. The epilator had some charge upon arrival but I decided to charge just in case. It took a little over 2 hours to fully charge and it was time to begin. Experience: I was a little hesitant to try an epilator but figured why not? It’ll only hurt for a second. I have a few problem spots under my chin that I will tweeze 2x a week. The unit arrived just in time for my weekly tweezing. Pain wise, it felt as if I were tweezing, so very tolerable. instead of it taking 10-15 mins to get all the hairs, it took my less than 5 minutes AND my chin feels so smooth!! Moving on to my armpits. After reading the directions, it suggests using the delicate area attachment for this area. I decided to do it in the warm shower and I must say, totally worth it and while it did sting while using it, the pain it wasn’t unbearable. Closing thoughts: In comparison, I’d say using the unit in the warm shower vs using it in the dry mode was much better with less discomfort. I never had the nerve to go to speed 2, speed 1 was just fine for the two areas I’ve tested so far. In a few days, I’m moving to my legs and I’m excited to see how that goes. Overall, this is a great unit! Pain is beauty most say and I will tell you this once more…it hurts no more than a normal tweeze would. Much faster and long lasting results.

Really well designed epilator. It's very easy to use, easy to clean, and gets around all the curves. I feel like it removes all the hairs! I just wish it came with the exfoliating attachment as well. Just a heads up, exfoliate before using and use some kind of alcohol/witch hazel after epilating!

Holy smokes - I hope you know what you're in for! In case you just saw "hair removal" and thought this was your typical shaver, you are dead wrong. If you're not up for a wild ride in the realm of hair removal, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you've got the guts and are ready to embrace the "no pain, no gain" mantra or you're the type who thrives on the adrenaline rush of regular tattoo sessions, then you're in for a treat with this epilator. After using the Philips Epilator Series 8000 i must say i prefer it much more than having to shave daily or every other day. This Philips epilator comes with the epilator, a delicate area cap. Iptimal contact cap, and a pouch to store it in. When shaving i always miss spots but this epilator has a light on it to help you catch any spots that you may have missed. One of the biggest features is that this is cordless so you dont have to worry about a cord reaching or getting tangled. I can do my legs and arms with still having more than enough charge. This epilator can be used wet or dry. I kind of prefer to use it as a dry epilator. When using an epilstor, like any other epilator, you will feel a slight tugging at the hair but nothing that is too painful or cant be handled. Using an epilator prevents me from having to shave daily or even weekly! Thats what i love the most. Its easy to use, quick, gets the hair down to the root, doesnt hurt, and its quiet. It works on short or longer leg hairs and arm hairs. I havent tried it under my arm pits yet just because thats a sensitive area and im nervous to but i do plan on using it there as well. Overall great epilstor for body hair.

I am always on the lookout for an epilator that does not break or lose charge quickly after a handful of uses, and was pleasantly surprised with this product. It only takes about two hours to fully charge and lasts over a few uses for me. It is fairly easy to disconnect and change the heads/accessories, so no worries about snapping or breaking delicate clips. This epilator also works on wet or dry skin - I prefer my skin to be wet, which makes some traditional epilators pretty useless, but this product still gets nice and close to the skin. It gets even the shortest hairs (as short as 0.5mm!!) and gets the job done quicker than any other epilator I have ever used, which makes much more sense when you read that it has 32 tweezers. It even has a small built-in LED light so you know you are not missing any hairs. The value for this product is unmatched too! As long as it is kept gently clean with the cleaning brush, this product should hopefully stand up over time better than other models I have used in the past.

I've never used an Epilator before but now I wished I've known about these sooner. It is better than shaving like almost every other day and it's easy to do at home and in my opinion less painful than waxing. When I first used it did hurt slightly but that's because I didn't know what to expect. Inside the box: You get the device Charger Two things where one is for sensitive areas like armpits or your area of sensitive skin You can use this device wet or dry and I prefer to use it right after a shower. It feels less painful in my opinion doing it that way. To use it you want to make sure you're going with the grain of how your hairs are growing so it pulls it out of the root instead of just leaving it in otherwise you might was well shave. This lasts a bit longer than shaving. I use it mostly on my legs and takes a bit of time but it's well worth it. You just can't use it while charging so make sure you charge it fully before each use it you don't want to stop mid way while using it.

Works great if you have long hairs, but I wish it did a better job of removing shorter hair. Personally, I do not like going more than a couple of days without shaving my legs, and I found this epilator had a hard time removing the short hair from my legs. I did not measure the hair length since it’s so short, but I usually shave every other day with a razor, and I was hoping this would reduce my reliance on a razor. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will reliably use this for shaving my legs. On my armpits, the epilator did a little better, and my guess it’s because those hairs are a little longer, so easier to grab. I did not use this on my face and did not try to use it on other gentle areas. Overall, I would recommend this to someone who does not mind letting their leg hair grow enough for the epilator to be able to perform and remove the hair no problem. As far as the quality built and design of the product, I really like it and appreciate that is charges quickly and that there are no wires in the way. The traveling bag is a nice touch to put it all in there for easy storage.

Philips epilator hair remover series 8000, I had been wanting to get one for a while, it comes with a pouch, two covers delicate area cap and optimal contact cap I honestly did not try either one I just used it straight on, I'm not a a hair person my hair on legs and armpits are fine, when I used it one my legs I tried it with shorter hair it says it can do it with hair as short as 0.5mm I felt it was better with hair that was longer maybe cause my hair is finer it griped better longer, it's a been at least 3 weeks and I'm barely able to feel the hair growth still really smooth, my armpits I did after a hot shower it is wet/dry use I figured armpits are more sensitive it's also been about 3 weeks and now starting to feel the growth a bit more then my legs but I do feel like my pit hair does grow fast, you can feel it plucking your hair I didn't find it painful I felt like it was like a light electric feeling I have had any issues with ingrown hairs. I used on my boyfriends upper back neck area he has a small patch of hair he would normally shave he loved it left the area smoother for longer it's his new favorite machine. I use a little vitamin E oil after using it although there was no irritation on either one of us.

I have used an epilator on my legs for many years so I was delighted to find a new model. The handle is designed well to fit in the hand. The charging cord plugs into a regular electrical outlet but the cord could be longer. It does an excellent job of quickly removing hairs. If you are new to using this type of device, you may initially find it “smarts” as the hairs are removed so start with your lower legs. It takes some time to adjust to this & to use it above your knees since it does better on tight skin with less flab. I have very sensitive skin, so I wouldn’t want to use this on my under arms. I also don’t use this on my face. I like that it can be rinsed with water & used wet. I still need to use this several times a week since the hairs do grow back. I don’t know how long the charge lasts and the one negative thing about this device is that you can’t use it while it is plugged in. So the longevity of this is less than the competitors. I have many old device that now only work while plugged in since batteries eventually fail. This is a good product, so long as the battery life is good. I would feel sad if it had to go to the landfill. This is area that should be improved.

Used to have an epilator for like 10 years but a few years ago it had broke. I finally bought this one and it works great! Love the design of it and the guides it comes with. Kinda I had bought it sooner. If you don’t or haven’t used one before, it can be uncomfortable or painful at first. The more you do it, the more you get used to it! I honestly prefer it over shaving or waxing my armpits/legs. You’re able to use these on all ares underneath your neck according to the manual.

Build/Make : The product is pretty lightweight and easy to use. There are 2 levels of setting for the speed of the hair remover which can be changed using the On/Off buttong. The handle has a good grip and the buttons are easy to handle. The torch provided is not of much use. The device is very noisy and the blades do not move very smoothly over your skin. It charges pretty quickly and the attachments can be fixed / removed easily. However a couple of parts mentioned in the manual were not found in the package (Callus remover, Trimmer). Efficiency : You need to use it continuously 2-3 times over a portion of your skin (even if you are covering a small area) for the hair to come out completely. And this is not a smooth and pain free process as you can feel the sharp pinch of every hair being pulled out of your skin. Even if you do it right after a bath or a shower with no cream or gel on your body, you will feel the pain of the hair coming out. And you cannot use it on a fully grown patch of hair (which can probably be more painful). This product can be used over 1/3rd or 1/2 grown hair, which still does not come out in one go. Looking at how much it hurt while shaving my legs and arms, I decided to not try it on my underarms. Cleaning : The cleaning process is not very easy as the thin fine hair gets stuck to the remover and the tiny cleaning brush provided can be used to brush off the hair sticking to the outside of the remover. Running the blades through hot water cleans some of the stuck hair but not all of it comes off easily.

I got this for my wife, so this review will be from that perspective. While it was her first experience with an epilator, we looked through the the instructions and watched the videos and it just didn't work well for her. Her skin is stretchier than most due to a medical condition she has, so that may be related, but it seems like in order to get the full experience of properly using this product you need some additional accessories that are not included in this version. In the box is the epilator and 3 accessories, though Philips counts the cleaning brush as one of those accessories. The delicate area cap is for facial hair, underarms, and the bikini area. The 'efficiency' cap is to help keep the epilator tight on the skin and reduce pain. There are about 6 or 7 additional accessories available to help with prepping the areas before and after epilating. She tried the epilator on both wet and dry on her legs and the experience was mostly just painful and not that effective. For her, at least compared to her normal shaving routine. I know that epilators are meant to cut down on the amount of time in between shaving, but this experience just wasn't it for her. I truly think this is a 'your mileage may vary' situation though as it seems like a well-made product and it's easy to clean and swap between accessories. It just didn't work out for us.

This is my first epilator experience and I was excited to try it out and hopefully extend time between hair removal. The unit itself is well made and comes with two accessory heads depending on the area you are using it on. It comes with a charger as well. They provide thorough instructions on proper use of the unit and what you should avoid doing. Since this was my first time using an epilator, I was sure to read through their instructions and follow their recommendations on best hair length for use. They also have helpful videos on their YouTube on proper use. The epilator can be used on wet or dry skin. I decided to try this out in the shower since it recommends wet skin for less pain/irritation. The epilator also has two speeds - when you initially turn it on its high speed and another button click is slow speed. I decided to start on the slow speed at first. I started to make passes along my leg and wow was this painful! My leg hair is on the thinner side, so it was taking me multiple passes in some areas to get the hair removed. Once I finished, I noticed my legs were covered in small red bumps which went away by the next day. I only used it once and don’t think I’ll be using it again. I didn’t notice a difference in how quickly my hair grew back, but I didn’t expect much change since I only used it once. If you are used to epilators, I think this unit is worth a try. It’s well-made and at the end of the day did remove my hair. But this style of hair removal is not for me!

They claim that these tweezers glide easily over your skin with less friction and more skin contact. While there may be women out there who love it, my body's response was anything but gentle. Hypoallergenic did not mean ok for sensitive skin. The pain remains, but the effectiveness diminishes. Epilate in warm water for extra comfort: The Epilator Series 8000 offers a Wet & Dry function for a gentler epilation experience. Philips suggests that warm water can relax your skin and make the treatment more comfortable. Unfortunately, the warm water does little to ease the pain. It's like trying to put out a forest fire with a garden hose – ineffective and still scorching. I tried it wet, dry, in the shower, and out. It all hurt! Spot even the finest hairs with Opti-light: Philips claims that the embedded Opti-light can spot even the finest hairs, close enough to your skin to catch the remaining ones. However, the Opti-light is so unimpressive that you might not even notice it until you've already missed those fine hairs. In other words, it's not very bright or effective. In Conclusion - A Painful Misadventure In summary, if you enjoy pain that rivals the Spanish Inquisition, the Philips Epilator Series 8000 might be your new best friend. For the rest of us who prefer a more pleasant hair removal experience, there are far better options out there. This epilator seems to cater exclusively to individuals with an unnaturally high pain threshold or those who enjoy making confessions under duress. So, if you're considering this device, I strongly advise you to think again – unless you have a burning desire for a hair removal experience that feels like a medieval torture chamber.
